Democrats = fail
Obama = epic fail

If you listen to your favorite liberal news channel you would not know the full statement. If you actually listen to Rush or find the full statement you would see that it was taken out of context, most likely on purpose, and is being used by the media to justify the attempt to silence any opinion other than what their opinion is.

Its simple if you want a country where there is no dissent, you can't voice your opinion no matter how right or wrong it is, if you want a country where you are taxed for everything, and get to go to the public doctor for free(you know any doctors who work for free?), not own any guns (except for the police, military, and bad guys) your money is spent without any second thought to the way you feel it should be spent then please go to Canada, England, China or find a way to bring back the old Soviet Union. please don't do it to the USA.

The way I see it is simple. Our leadership has done a very good job at keeping us divided. Instead of talking to each other and sorting out our differences we just yell at each other while our leaders do what they damned well please and blame the other side when it doesn't work. Why would you expect the corrupt to change because they got elected to president? The left is very vocal and at times seem to need pacifiers because they cry like little babies who need their bottles. The Right doesn't seem to be vocal enough and just takes it and takes it and takes it. We need to change the people who are in office (no so much the president, but the members of congress who spend 20+ years in office) or one day we will all wake up and we will be living in a communist/socialist country (if you want that please leave) or we will be waking up to revolution.

Silly Republicans with your false analogies.

CNN and MSNBC may have correctly disagreed with virtually everything Bush did, however, I never heard anyone on any show wish that Bush would fail .

Obviously you somehow missed this distinction.

Rush makes me sick. He is a liar and fills the heads of his listeners with misinformation and party propaganda. It comes as no surprise to me that it was his loyal listeners who elected the worst president in American history, TWICE (virtually every living historian agrees Bush was the worst). Why anyone would take anything he says seriously is beyond me.

the difference is that MSNBC and CNN report the news. they skew it to favor their baese. that base is liberals. Rush Limbaugh does not report the news, he goes off on crazy rants about the news, he personally does not report it, people listen to him, he is not there to change peoples opinions, he is there to act crazy. people believe in everything MSNBC and CNN say because they are news giants.

Well, I agree and disagree with you. I agree that Rush's show is meant as entertainment where as many of shows on CNN and MSNBC are news based. However, I disagree that Rush is not there to change or form peoples opinions. Though most of Rush's listeners already have the opinion that liberals are the devil, Rush's rhetoric, misinformation, and outright lies only act to reinforce this opinion.

Though Rush's show is meant as entertainment, I cannot tell you how many times I have heard Republicans quote things they heard on his show as facts to counter, rather ineffectively I may add, arguments I have formed from watching the news and interpreting information gained from many sources. Quite frankly, it can be rather frustrating.

Whether CNN and MSNBC "skew" the news to favor a liberal base is quite debatable. Perhaps you see it as skewed because you are used to watching clearly conservative programs on channels such as FOX. However, perhaps I only think FOX is "clearly conservative" because I only watch CNN and MSNBC.

On as side not, IMO all news should be "liberal" fore, by its definition, it would be open-minded, non conformist, and tolerant, all characteristics of liberalism and any news organization worth its salt.

BIG deal... Let RUSH spurt his crap all he wants - THIS sheeple Obamabot could give a bent blue donkey what he says.

True liberals will defend RUSH'S right to speak regardless of how they feel about what he says.

The liberals have been spreading their hate around for eight years. Sorry, libs, if your Personal Jesus is getting lightly slammed by some talk show host. Just wait until the leader of another country starts badmouthing him.

Gosh, ya know? This angry tool is right, and so darn cute while not at all ironic or full of it. We should all vote Apocolypse.

I've got an A by my name right now, by Jesus.

I mean, this poster endured sooo much. Like when his balanced budget, non-nation building ideological hero had to spend all that money, or start all those wars, or not get Bin Laden, or piss off pretty much every American and ally with a brain.

Do you animals not feel anything! Let this man VENT! He has (literally) nothing. No party, no ideology, no hope, no leader, no future whatsoever, but the bright one offered by his rivals.

Gosh, I'm tearing up. Partisan politics suck so hard. Especially in a Democracy when YOU AND EVERYTHING YOU STAND FOR ARE REJECTED *SNIP*.

Have a nice day.

THANK YOU, Res Ipsa, for using my post for a lesson! I'm Ann Coulter? Gee - I wish I had her MONEY! Maybe our government should MAKE her share it with me! It isn't FAIR she worked for hers, you know?

You have quite successfully proved the point so many others have made in this thread. Instead of posting something that actually adds to the discussion (Why the Dems are so desperate to silence anyone who DISAGREES; or at least join together in their desperation) you choose to attack my patriotism and my ability to think for myself.

I didn't need anything (or anyONE) but a world history lesson to know I want Obamas' POLICIES to fail (LIKE I SAID) and to FAIL MISERABLY! That's (ONE reason) why this country is so freakin' awesome: I CAN SAY SO without the THREAT of an entire POLITICAL PARTY MAKING ME STOP SAYING SOMETHING IT DOESN'T LIKE!

I almost feel pity for you, but it is understandable and LAUGHABLE how you would ask how what I said is different from something Al Queda would say since you assume only Obama supporters can think for themselves. The difference is very clear...Al Queda would love to see this country FAIL and I don't! Apparently you and Obama support ideals and socialist policies that have failed elsewhere in this world but for some reason think it's going to work this time around. Did someone TELL you that? You really need to back away from the Kool_Aide!

I was born here in these GREAT UNITED STATES and love this country enough to not want to leave it in a state that keeps my fellow Americans DEPENDENT on the STATE. I resent ANYONE who thinks they know what is best for me and my family and I detest the idea of leaving a shell of a great country to the future citizen raised up on the principles of hard work and self determination (or WILL they? Hmmm...) only to learn they are working to support a bunch of whining crybabies who look to the government (and the working taxpayers) for their well being and support.

I UNDERSTAND its' history well enough to know the men and women who have fought and died for it did so to KEEP IT FREE! [snip]

All flames aside, it was an online fundfraiser by the DCCC.

If you want to stop making Democrats money and losing seats, I suggest you slip Rush a tainted OxyContin, because he remains the best fundraiser the Democrats have.

Isnt this the uniter??...uniting the country by saying things like..

So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Or intelligence like..

Thats above my pay grade!!

and now this.. more uniting of the country.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

This is just the begining of this administration. Wow!! Here we have a professional politician who has to use a media personality to make thier point?? THey feel limited in their power and ability by a media personality?? Wow!! The congress too feels limited by the competition from a media personality?? He may as well be quoting a line from a movie or television program.

I think they need someone different to write their speechs and thoughts.

Rush Limbaugh being a draft dodger??? I was not aware that Rush Limibaugh was running for public office. Is he??

This sounds like desperation on the part of someone politically minded as if Rush was running for pubic office. It sounds just plain hard up as does the current President mentioning his name as if Rush was a threat to the political party apparatus.

Remember...Moveon.org owns the democratic party. Not Rush Limbaugh.

Talk about three card monte. How easily are some of the public distracted here?? Which one is the winning card?? Good Grief.

The Dems and Reps are two sides of the same coin. Their ideology is equally totalitarian, and it is what makes a limited party system so dangerous. Neither can be trusted. Dissent was stifled as much by Bush and the Reps as it is going to be by Obama and the Dems.

I agree here. They are indeed two sides of the same coin. I have looked as deep as possible with limited informations to see who or what might be the hand in the glove running both parties for the same purposes. The conduct of both parties is obvious as it is for the parties and not the business of the American People.

I have deep suspicions about the nature of the two party system and its true purposes.

I believe the dictum or dogma was sometimes referred to as Hegelian Dialectic in the way these two parties work with the public caught in between the two in ignorance.

As to Rush in the talk show circuit..I don't look at him as a conservative per se..but a spokesman for the Republicans...one side of the dialectic. I don't think he is the only one. There are a whole host of such. They have only found a niche in the medium they use.
The worst one I dislike is this fellow Hannity. I just don't like his method.

Nonetheless..I am forced by the rhetoric to ask myself if Rush is running for a public office.
Also judging by his rhetoric I do not believe he would survive well in a military environment. To much of a mouth on him....for this kind of teamwork. To independent in thinking. He would have been busted jailed, or drummed out of the service.

Thanks,
Orangetom

"I resent ANYONE who thinks they know what is best for me and my family and I detest..."

I believe that was your quote. Exactly how does Rush avoid your wrath?

I also got the opportunity to hear Rush defend his "hope Obama fails" statement. If he meant only the policies the first time he said it, he sure made it clear that he meant Obama in the subsequent foot in mouth interviews.

If you want his policies to fail...you want America to fail...just so you can say your ideology is superior...what if he doesn't fail? Would that be ok with you? What if me and Jon Stewart are right about a "trickle up" doctrine rather than the old failed ways? How happy are you with our bail out money, I think $6 billion, going for Wall Street bonuses?

Speaking of history for you.....do you understand that your idea of a Conservative Republican is more historic than it exists today? Did you know that the first Federalist were actually for a strong national government and they grabbed the term "Federalist" because the term was viewed favorably by the public? One famous Anti-Federalist that was pissed that they got stuck with the "Anti-Federalist" lable said..."it should be the Rats and the anti-Rats"
Don't feel too bad because millions of Americans still think that Democrats are one thing and Republicans are another....kind of like a religion...what religion are you sir, "duh, I am a Roman Catholic." and what is the difference between Roman Catholics and other Catholics?
"...uh..duh...I don't know, I was born a Roman Catholic so whatever the other kinds of Catholics are, I am not one of them." Are you a Christian sir? "I done told you, I am Roman Catholic, I'm not one of them arab jew loving terrorist religions" Who did you vote for? "I voted for the guy that had the "R" by his name"
Republicans are suppose to be about family values, fiscal responsibility,
small government...pro-life....(sorry, pro-life before birth...after birth they have no problem with frying you, or sticking a needle in your arm)
What do you call us that are economic conservatives, and compassionate social conservatives? Those of us that vote for whomever we feel has the best chance of serving our Country the best? Independents?
....sorry my optomism and glee with Obama offends you...and that you can't lable me with whatever term Rush has given to liberals...I voted for Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama. (primary this year for Huckabee) love Ron Paul but I live in the real world.
You and Rush should be attacking the Republicans because like the Federalist of 1789, your party doesn't stand for what it once did....and you know it.

Somewhere years back the Democrats were actually conservatives. The Republicans were the liberals.

Somehow and somewhere a 180 degree turnabout has taken place to where people think it was always as it is represented today. It was not ...it has been reversed. This is also not taught in most educational systems of today.

By the way...I too like Ron Paul and his points of view. Most of the details of what Ron Paul thinks will never be heard by the bulk of Americans raised on a diet of sports and television programming. I too know that the system which is entrenched will never allow him to be a spokesman for either party. The other Congressman who held similar fiscal views was a man named Larry Mcdonald. I remember what happened to Larry Mcdonald back in 1983.
I also know people from way back in 1983 who were in those days talking about what was coming for the American people and the American dollar. Some of it is coming to pass including the solutions offered today for these problems.

When I realized that most of the talking heads including the so called conservative talking heads would not give Ron Paul the time of day ..even in past elections..I knew then what they were about. More Hegelian Dialectic. Both parties running the public around in circles.

To me Rush is a part of this dialectic.

Oh..by the way...I do indeed consider politics as done today..to be a religion. This is obvious by the very zeal evidenced by many of the participants in it. The problem for me is identifying the very nature of this religion.

Thanks,
Orangetom
