From what you describe, i think you see a bunch of birds. Flying in formation. No sound.

Birds can be iluminated from behind by the city lights, making them yelowish pale.

When i saw myself in my teenager days this phenomenon, i was enough surprised and confused. Later i saw again birds, and understand.

This hypothesis of mine is based on your description.

Hello mate,
I'm sorry but it wasn't birds....100%. Birds don't glow a color and they are not circular. I know what you mean though, and i can understand why you may think I saw birds. But believe me it wasn't birds

www.cambridge-news.co.uk...

A MAN whose computer was seized as part of a police investigation plunged to his death from a building in Cambridge the next day, an inquest heard.

Robert Clancy's body was discovered between a high wall and buildings on Cambridge University's New Museums Site, in Pembroke Street, at around 9.30am on September 4 last year after he committed suicide.

He got a lift to Marshalls (cambridge Airport) in Cambridge where he worked as an aircraft engineer for 17 years and was well regarded by his peers

"It's quite clear from the circumstances that he took his own life. I have no choice but to record a verdict that he took his own life."

Just something I noticed on Cambridge news today. Bit far fetched I know, but maybe he knew about something about Cambridge Airport.
Why did the police take his computer?

Where were you in Cambridge? - Sorry, just checked the map again - you were behind the football ground.

Im not too far - will keep an eye out.

Edit:

I saw that story in the Evening News aswell. It is probably nothing but it is annoying not knowing why the police were interested in him.

Evening mate,
Thanks for stopping by my thread. I just got back from taking a look around again. Unfortunatly is raining and cloudy now...so had to retread back to my computer. At least I can do more re search here.

Yes I was near the football ground. There is a bridge behind Homebase in the Retail park that crosses over the train line. The field I had my sighting was just at the bottom of the bridge to the left.

Regarding the news article, I agree its probably nothing. I just thought I aught to add it to the thread, as this thread is going to be the bulk of my notes regarding the sighting. I will be taking everything into consideration.

If your around Cambridge keep your eyes pealed!

Hi depthoffield,
I'm going to be honest with you and say that I haven't specifically seen birds illuminated by street lights at night. But I can stay that looking up into the skies during the day and night isn't something new to me. I have been interested in the night sky for years, and saying that, probably have seen birds at night in the way you say.

What I saw, to me, just doesn't seem possible to have been simply birds. The speed and motion it was moving at, and how steady and synchronised the lights were just don't in my opinion seem to have been birds (I know how synchronised birds can fly, I have been watching videos and youtube and seen them in the wild. Of course you may be right. I may never understand what I saw. I will be looking out for the effect which your saying though so that I can compare.

I don't think it was birds.

+ there was hardly any light around. No where near enough to light up birds above me

Thanks again for your input, its appreciated

Hi depthoffield,
I'm going to be honest with you and say that I have never specifically see birds illumined at night by street lights or lighting in general. But I can say to you that I have been interested in the Skies for years, I'm out star watching/looking for ufo's/taking photos most clear nights when I get the chance. So saying that I probably have seen birds at night lit up.
I will be keeping and eye out for the effect that you are talking about and I won't disregard it as I can't. But personally I still don't think it was bird's..for starters it was very low lighting where I was, there were street lights, but they were quite a bit behind me on the road.

When I had the sighting, I was staring up into a dark area of the sky where I could see the stars clearly, without street lights getting in the way. As I was staring at the stars thats when I saw it. It wasn't like I was doing something, and then glanced up and saw it, its not like I even saw it out of the corner of my eye. I was staring right at it, watching the colored dots travel perfectly synchronized, the more I think about it, the more I feel the lights where on the bottom of one craft.

Thanks for your input,
Stop back

Hi esta. Great sighting. Sounds like you saw some ufo orbs in flight formation. Seen lots myself too like those in my avatar. It's very interesting how you describe the colours. Most witnesses see just orange or just white. A mix of yellow, orange, amber is a really good sighting, rarer yet very much more believable. I don't suppose you saw a smaller red one did you? They often travel with the colours you listed. I would recommend you contact the MOD as they need bombarding with as much evidence as we can give to ufo orb existence. If nothing else you will receice a nice letter back for your collection!
On a side note, ufo orbs are nothing new (IMHO) as history records them from the 'star' of David, the Nuremberg woodcut ufos, to the WW2 Foo Fighters and the critters seen by NASA in the STS videos. Spielberg used them as the two amber orbs in Close Encounters and as he portrayed they are also connected to motherships. Life (especially the sky) will never be the same again, welcome to the club!

Could anyone forward me in the direction of somewhere with a mass collection of so called genuine ufo pics?

I like some in these collections, no comment on which are or are not real.

Daily Telegraph 140 Years of UFO Sightings Part 2

Continued: 140 Years of UFO Sightings Part 3

UFO Casebook: Best UFO pictures 1800s to 1950s

UFO Photogeraph Collection & slideshow

Greater minds than mine have probably explained some of these. It's still a good feeling to revel in the sense of wonder and imagination that these photos provoke. Enjoy

Hello all,

Hope everyone is keeping well,

I have an update for this thread that I feel is fairly important!

I also have a thread on davidicke forums, Someone has said:

'Hi - ok, this is interesting, as I saw 3 ufos back in 2007 right where you marked it on the map! I was on the train from London and they flew over the track. I also hear that there were some sightings near Sawston, which is sort of that way too! Mine were three classic saucers. They were flying in the triangle formation. From that day I keep my eyes open around that spot whenever I am on the train, but haven't seen anything else. Looks like you were lucky!'

I find it very interesting that someone has had a sighting in the exact same location! what are the chances of that........

Hi my daughter lives in Cambridge and a week or so ago she was sat in her garden on a warm summer evening. She and her boyfriend watched in amazement as a group of orange lights silently moved slowly across the sky. They were entirely silent. They ran inside for their camera and when they returned they had gone. As they tried to prepare the camera for a possible 'return flight' they took some shots down the garden to get the lighting sorted. The lights didn't come back, but when they loaded the photos onto the pc yesterday, we noticed one very clear and two further away 'orbs' in the garden, silvery and circular.

Odd but true. We wondered if any other sightings were made as was a warm night in Cambridge and bound to be loads of people about.

i tried searching ATS for this Cambridge UFO video i found on youtube, which was uploaded dec 2009 - thinking that it may have coincided with the sightingS mentioned in this thread.

it's a very interesting video, featuring a number of UFOs, one of which is very close range and there's also another set of lights that resembles a large triangular formation. would like to hear opions, perhaps they are LED kites, RC vehilcies or CGI?

unable to embed videos, so here's the link! CAMBRIDGE UFO

haha 3 years on and still going.

Thanks for the video on the Cambridge ufo, Interesting, although unfortunately, it wasn't like what I saw. What I saw was not such a bright white and blue color, it was orange and dimmer..

I'm still interested in ufo's although haven't had a sighting since.,I want to visit the eceti ranch.
