The photo below is my depiction/recreation of what I saw. Please understand that this is an interpretation that I created in photoshop

Good evening!! and what a GREAT one it has been. I was visiting Cambridge and i witnessed something extraordinary.

I don't know if it was a military craft that is already known(ish) about or something much different. I will have to research now. I would firstly like to ask if anyone knows of UK military planes which has 5 or 6 lights on the bottom like in the picture. The lights didn't flash and it was very quiet (i couldn't hear anything..) I cant figure out if the lights were all on the bottom of one craft or if they were individual crafts (balls of light what ever they were) That were syncd to stay perfectly aligned. Like the ufo clusters you hear and see reports of, although it seemed lower than that....

Recently I have taken up photography as a hobby, and I have been taking photos of the stars.

Tonight I went to a field where its dark, there is a couple of street lamps but its still alot darker than most places (I'm in the city =/)

Whenever i am taking photos at night, I always enjoy it as I love watching the stars and looking out for UFO's. Although I had never seen one until tonight.

I was staring directly up above me into the stars at just gone midnight . It was between 00:00 and 00:10 today the 21/01/2009 to be precise.

I saw about 5 or 6 yellow/redish/amber colored dots perfectly aligned ( see pic) all moving at the same speed. I couldn't take my eyes off it. There was NO sound and NO and this is a big NO flashing flights. It wasn't a plane (commercial plane), helicopter, lantern, or any type of balloon. They all moved a t the same speed and like I said stayed perfectly aligned.

I must of watched it for about 5 seconds, give or take a second. come from behind me over my head. as it got further away, say after 5 seconds i couldn't see it anymore.

I'm not good at judging height, but it wasn't that high above me, put it this way, if it had been a plane it would have been #ing loud! and i would ave probably shat myself, even more. So i guess you could say it was fairly low.

I can't pin point weather each dot was an individual 'something' or if all the dots were say lights on the bottom of 1 craft.

It really shook me up after I saw it. To be honest I couldn't hang around much longer as the paranoia set in =/ but I WILL be going back there with a video camera.

I did't take a photo of the lights, even though I was out there to take photos! But i couldn't and didn't want to take my eyes off it. + my camera was round my neck and not set up on the tripod. wouldn't have worked

THE PIC BELOW IS A PHOTO OF THE STARS, THEN I PHOTOSHOPED WHAT I CAN KIND OF REMEMBER SEEING. IMAGINE YOU ARE LOOKING WITH YOUR HEAD RIGHT BACK, LOOKING UP AT THE STARS. THE LIGHTS PASSED ABOVE ME RIGHT OVER MY HEAD NO SOUND..sorry for caps..

If anyone could help me it would be great!

Thanks!!

Date of sighting? 21/01/2009

Time of sighting (include time zone, am or pm)? Between GMT00:00 and 00:10

How long did the sighting last? Less than 10 seconds, around 4,5 or 6.

City, state of sighting (or nation, province, etc.)? Cambridge UK

How many other witnesses? None

Just lights, or shape discernable? Just lights. I can figure out if the lights were all coming from the bottom of the same craft or if they were individual lights/crafts

Color of lights and/or object/s? amber/orange/yellow mix

Number of lights and/or objects? 5 or 6. Im pretty sure it was 6 like in the diagram

Apparent altitude? No extremely high above me, if it had been a regual commercial plane it would have been loud. It was pretty low, I will try and decide on a rough hight.

Apparent brightness? Not extremely bright, as if the lights were coming through a thin layer of cloud. hazey. But there were no clouds it was a perfect night. Thats why I went out to take photos.

Path of travel (straight, curved, etc.)? Straight over the top of me. Seemed as once it had kind of past over my head a few seconds after (i hadn't travelled that far past me, i couldn't see the lights anymore) Strange how I couldn't see them for longer

Any pictures or video? No, just a image of the stars which I put into photoshop and added the orange colored dots to, to try to demonstrate what I saw

I'm taking what I saw seriously. And i hope some other people on here will as wel, and give me a hand.

Cheers

what do you mean, NO stars and NO flag?

And just to say it again, as I dont what anyone thinking that I'm trying to pass this off as a genuine photo.

I added the lights in photoshop to try represent what I saw. I'm NOT trying to fool anyone

Hi, and welcome to ATS! I also appreciate the fact that you told us right away that you photoshopped the image.

If you look above your first post in this thread, there is a red button whichs says "Flag thread". People use this button and flag the threads they think are good. Very popular threads have lots and lots of flags. I think flags also gives the OP points.

Each post in a thread can also be "starred", by clicking the little star symbol. That gives it a blue star, which is also a way of showing appreciation. Star does not give points, as far as I know.

Hope this explains it.

im not sure why benariass had to say no star no flag,

And for the original poster ( aka OP) stars and flags are ways of recognising the 'post' as a sign of interest FOR THE INDIVIDUAL. so dont create posts in hopes to just get stars and flags.. and trust me, from what ive gathered your not the type.

anyway, welcome to ATS,
Thanks for sharing the sighting and im glad you made the photoshop rendering, in fact so many people say they saw something but never think to use photoshop or paint to recreate the event.

this ufo you bring up here, is very very similar to what happened in new jersey recently in fact if you got a side shot of this craft (assuming its one craft) you would have most likely saw more red lights near the top.

thanks again.. and yes ill provide the star and flag, cause your sighting could be linked to another in the states.

Hi Ziggy, Thanks for stopping and reading my thread. Nice to meet you mate. I understand now about the flagging. I've been a browser of this site of quite a while now, I registered yesterday or the day before. And HAD to post about this in as much detail as I could for everyone and my own future reference. ITs going to be a weird nights sleep tonight thinking about all this!

Thanks again for explaining that. Stop back again aye

Hi LordThumbs. Thanks for your kind welcome. That sounds interesting about the ufo in jersey. Do you know of any photos? I will also have a look around. The main thing I would ike to try get hold of, is a photo of the bottom of a craft with the lights. I should be able to recognize the formation of the lights straight away. But then again they could have been individual 'things'

Thanks for your information mate

Sorry..I wasn't laughing at the OP. If you look at my first post, it's a reply to greeneyedleo. His comment made me realize the pic is fake and made me laugh. And he deserves of course a star and a flag for pointing it out to me. But I can't. Get it?
Anyway, looking at the OP's reaction, he seems quite serious about his statements. Hope he gets the desired response. Good luck.

LordThumbs, do you mean this one?

www.realufos.net...

It wasn't really like this one. The lights what I saw were less red and more orange (i guess it could be the guys camera making it look more red)
There was no dot in the middle of what I saw like this one aswel,
It wasn't the triangle shape that the jersey one was by the looks of it

I'm sure the formation that i saw was more rectangular.

I have kind of joined up the dots in the image below

It's a bird...
Oh wait wrong thread. hahahahaa.

Anyway,
You did the right thing.
You accounted and gave great details to the
sighting, so anyone else in the area who may
have seen it as well would know if it was what
you indeed saw.

Placing the photo first may have mislead some people
here. They were most likely under the impression that
they were looking at a photo you have taken of the craft.

Perhaps a warning first: This is my depiction/recreation of
what I saw. Please understand that this is an interpretation
that I created in photoshop.

Just a suggestion. I must say that I was mislead.
Eh, it happens.

Could anyone forward me in the direction of somewhere with a mass collection of so called genuine ufo pics?

Is there such a thing. I notice just about everything gets debunked.
How do you determine genuine?!

Convincing maybe.. debatable, worth another look, questionable....

Genuine?! ... Good luck. Someone will debunk it.

Thanks for that mate, i'm going to do that now. Might even copy and paste your words if you don't mind.
Yes I thought I better get the information posted up quickly just inscase. Although I highly doubt anyone would have seen it unless they were looking u p into the sky like me. Or unless it landed.

It very close

I saw a few planes around while I was out. So I know this one isn't a regular one

So it turns out according to google earth, that i was closer to the airport than I initially thought...

It wasn't an ordinary plane

Well today I decided to go and check out behind the field where I had to the sighting and overt owards the airport. I wasn't expecting to find anything, but I just thought I aught to do it, if I'm going it look into this seriously.

I visited 2 entrances at the rear of the airport.

One of them was an entry for F.O.D

Which after reasearching I have found out stands for Foreign Object Damage and or Foreign Object Debris.

So what is Foreign Object Damage and what can it do? What does FOD mean to a pilot and crew? It may be ice, birds, tools or hardware, sucked into a turbofan. Sometimes "acts of God" (ice and birds) but all too often FOD is an act of man. An aircraft frightfully out of control, its occupants feel their hearts in their throats. The pilot struggles desperately to wrestle control, as the plane goes down in a billow of smoke. Or maybe a sharp metal object on the runway, like a predator silently awaiting its prey. A tire blows out on takeoff or landing as the aircraft tragically begins to stray. Or flight controls jammed by a foreign object as the aircraft's nose will only point down. The pilot completely helpless, as his aircraft heads straight for the ground. A pilot's ejection seat mechanism, fouled with something that doesn't belong. To his horror he finds no escape, from a doomed flight gone terribly wrong. Maybe because of a technician's negligence family and friends are left to grieve and wail. A sad tragedy that could have been prevented as a young technician faces the prospect of jail. So be vigilant with aircraft inspections and be vigilant with hardware and tool checks too. Remember, "Integrity First, Service Before self, and Excellence in All that We Do".

I have also include a photo of the field which I saw the lights over with the direction that the lights were traveling in

Well, either it was one, single object, gliding over the sky, or several objects travelling in two perfectly straight lines. There have been a lot of sightings recently involving different forms of lights in the sky, and whatever you saw, it may very well have a connection.

From what you describe, i think you see a bunch of birds. Flying in formation. No sound.

Birds can be iluminated from behind by the city lights, making them yelowish pale.

When i saw myself in my teenager days this phenomenon, i was enough surprised and confused. Later i saw again birds, and understand.

This hypothesis of mine is based on your description.
