I'm not so sure that 'taking sides' is a good idea in this thread. There are plenty of other threads for that debate.

This thread is about the feed and what is happenning there. We have over 25 pages of comments that do NOT include taking sides. I prefer to keep it that way rather than lump this thread in with the rest of them.

just my spare change.

The camera footage is awesome, a real eye opener.
It shows that our western media is biased, last night on the news it said Gaza is still with out power, yet last night on this camera many street lights were clearly visible.
I hope Israel wipes Hamas of this planet.

Those lights are left on by the grace of Israel allowing a bit of power in, plus it also aids them in directing their fire at the next victims, I mean targets.
some people have generators and I would say that there is also some solar power available.
I live in an area prone to losing power and yet some lights remain on while the opposite side of the streets are off.
and If you get what you hope for, I hope you are holding the hands of the Palestinians when it happens.

Israel has stopped the attacks for three hours.

www.cnn.com...

I'm not sure what can be done in three hours, but at least people will have time to do something, perhaps gather food and/or medical supplies... If any are available.

Some additional food for thought from the news:

Palestinian medical sources said at least 800 people have been killed in Gaza since the Israeli offensive began two weeks ago.

The dead include 235 children, 90 women and 12 medics, the sources said. Another 3,225 people have been wounded, they said. Thirteen Israelis, including 10 soldiers, have died in the fighting.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Israel was disregarding the U.N. vote because the resolution will not be heeded by "murderous" Palestinian groups. The firing of rockets from Gaza into southern Israel on Friday, he said, "proves the U.N. resolution is not practical."

"The state of Israel has never agreed that any outside body would determine its right to defend the security of its citizens. The [Israel Defense Forces] will continue operations in order to defend Israeli citizens and will carry out the missions with which it has been assigned in the operation," Olmert said.

Click "Settings" on the WM Console and under the General tab you'll see "Recordings Folder". Use that to choose where you want recordings saved to. Under the "Recording Modes" tab, place a check next to "Auto Recording".

If you open WM Recorder first, and then copy/paste the URL into Media Player, it should automatically start recording once the stream starts.

Hope this helps. It's a great program.

It say that "The lull was scheduled to take place between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. (11 a.m. GMT and 2 p.m. GMT), said Israeli Defense Ministry spokesman Peter Lerner. It is the third time in the past two weeks that Israel has stopped attacks for a short time to allow Palestinians to stock up on supplies."

Its 13.27 GMT now and we have all seen the bombs going of in the last 3 hours. Some "lull"
If that was a Lull then we in for some heavy action in half an hour.

Im finding it hard to wrap my head around my daily routine. Everything seems so different. I keep arguing with myself LOL

how can you think about 'what to wear to work' when people are dying....
how can you think about 'plans for lunch today' when people are dying....
who cares what shoes you put on! people are dying!....
stop by the store? well at least you CAN... over there, people are dying...

know what I mean?

/sigh

perhaps if everyone were to watch the live feed of a war zone... wars would not take place. or it could backfire and we would become desensitized to it and wars would be no big deal. I wish I had an answer.

what time are the attacks due to continue? it seems a little quieter, the city echo's with car horns and an dull hum of aircraft over head.

Last night the battle seemed to be on the horizon with the occasional burst of smalls arms fire slightly closer although aircraft did seem to be over the city most of the time and frequent explosions happened in various sections. I think for me the most haunting part of the night was when a bomb woke all the cocks and all through the city you could hear what sounded to me like pained and confused cock-a-doodle-do's

I watched again around lunch time (gaza time) and the everything was fairly quiet, then without warning the loud blast of a large bomb caused a young girl to emit a high pitch scream which curdled my blood and chilled me to the spine, shortly after a section of the city near last nights fighting came under some form of attack then it was quiet until the leaflets got dropped.

According to Israel national news the IDF drops leaflets to warn people before every single strike, this doesn't appear to be true - the leaflets coming after the bomb and all.

I can only presume that after the 3 hour lul the IDF are going to hit the section of the city they leafleted and hit it hard, then again it probably looks better if when the red cross get to the site of a massive pile of dead children they have loads of leaflets saying 'we will bomb here soon# laying on top of their mangled bodies.

i'm not really sure, but according to a news station similar to CNN or something here in denmark, they are saying that Israel is ready to begin a new face of their offensive, and the things they trew down to the people were warnings that their offensive would get more intense. haven't heard a specific time.. maybe it just begins out of nowhere. as i am typing i just saw an explosion.

People die everyday for horrible and senseless reasons without war.

Life is about living and despite the tragedy and overwhelming sense of helplessness you may be having, it is in your power to take that feeling and be able to use it in your life for good.

Enjoy your freedoms, enjoy your life, make it count everyday by doing one simple thing to help your fellow man.

If you do those things then the sadness and the frustration you have will turn into something positive and uplifting. While it may not end all Wars and horror, it can make a difference one day at a time.

Watching the webcam off and on. Thank-you for posting the link.

Thank you for your reassuring post. I would like to think that your suggestions are a 'given' to most people as we should all perform acts of kindness everyday

I truely wasnt fishing for solutions to overcome how I was feeling as much as I was trying to relay how this live feed was affecting me personally. I was curious to see if anyone was actually feeling the same way and experiencing what I was this morning. I dont know about anyone else but I have never watched a live feed from a warzone before.
