Looks like someone "farted in a foxhole" ... yet another gaza thread has appeared.

Yes,its called keeping up with current events.
I wonder,did/do you say the same thing every time a new 9/11 thread opened?

That's all you needed to say - Al Jazeera

Because the American press never lies, right.

Schools have been turned into military targets by Hamas because they launch rockets from them and use them as weapons depots. It's a fact.

Every single one? Do you have proof of that?

And I see you have changed your signature. Was that because I called you out on the hypocrisy of it? Y'know the one,it had a link in it that led to a site about American freedom, yet you deny the Palestinian their's....I think my Israel thread has proven that the comment of Golda Meir in your new signature is also highly hypocritical.

Hi. Sorry but I couldn't follow your train of though. Could you summarize what you try to say ( I am not being sarcastic but really didn't get the hardcore point you want to say). Thanks.

So here we see first "great" official response...

At least 30 die in strike on Gaza school; IDF: Troops fired in self-defense

www.haaretz.com...

... "That boy in the field, he had weapon in his hand... Really!"

IDF: Mortars fired from bombed school

www.ynetnews.com...

... If there really came mortar fire, which is of course possible, they really should give fast hard proofs openly and wide to public, to back up their words... They are loosing this now.

... If they show evidence from mortar fire to world wide, they still can fix this towards Hamas, no question about that. But Israel should hurry on this!

The lion would have been left alone if it didn't try to expand its borders.

Seriously, if Israel kept the land that the UN gave them and didn't expand the border, causing the Palestinians to be rounded up into a small zone, this war probably wouldn't be occurring.

I will admit that I have not read the entire thread. After about 6 pages, I got fed up with the utter ignorance shown from both sides of this debate.

Both sides are -wrong-

There, I said it. These two people, the Israeli's and HAMAS, are both wrong in what they are doing. They have thier reasons, but the fact remains that they have both hurt and killed civilians. Death brings nothing but more death. Retalliation is no reason to kill innocent children. I can only hope and pray that -someone- in the leadership of either group will see the complete futility of their actions and finally work to bring this conflict to a peaceful resolution. However, from past actions, this looks -very- unlikely.

Israel made these people live without food, water, electricity and medicine and rockets are the only thing the Gazan's have to get attention. Israel has done that on purpose so they can do this now. They say that there is no humanitarian problem there because to them, it is not a problem. Israel is enjoying this.

See this post that I made earlier. You might find that to be of interest. Video of mortar fire included. Sure it's from earlier but it does prove that they used the school as a mortar lauching pad.

I have shoot very much with light and midsize mortars (in pic), but what I see in that video you posted, its something like rockets, maybe home made ones... But not any accurate and dangerous mortar fire -

You dont hide when mortar ammunition is taking off... And there is no flare in ammunitions. (like in video)

Its huge difference if there were mortars, or rockets fired from school, if there was something fired. In video you show, danger to armed forces, tanks from such kind of fire is almost zero level, but accurate mortar fire to open positions is great threat...

No. Your opinion of me would have to mean something for me to have changed it. And it means nothing to me. AND more importantly - you were dead wrong.

I change my signatures on a regular basis.
LONG TIME ATSers know this.
In a few weeks or a month or two it'll be a different one again.

You are very new here. You'll figure it out.

New school bombings really made bad for statistics too...

Israel kills 215 kids, 98 women in Gaza

Medics say 660 Palestinians, including 215 children and 98 women, have been killed in the Israeli onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

www.presstv.ir...

Means simply that 50% from casualties are civilians!

Eyewitness testimony just heard in Live TV, one minute ago...

english.aljazeera.net...

Officer from targeted school said that there is no fighters, not any shooting anywhere near from the school compound; "All fighters are in the borders, not here inside Gaza, this school is not near border." He stated that Israelis are lying about firing.

So Harlequin, why would Hamas fire from a school in 2007? Could it quite possibly be for the same reason they are firing from schools in 2009? Spin it any way you want and in any manner you like. The truth of the matter is Hamas uses civilian structures like schools and hospitals and mosques to wage their terror. It is purely undeniable.

It is just as undeniable as the fact that Israel has also done many terrible things.

War is terrible! When did we lose sight of this fact? When did we lose sight of the fact that the allies carpet bombed Berlin and Germany did the same to London? When did we lose sight of the fact that war is inherently evil and evils happen from both sides? When did we lose sight of the fact that in any war in recorded history civilians died?

Now, even in the face of a specific Hamas leader who said 80% killed had been Hamas, we call fowl on Israel and only Israel when both are in the wrong. It's like the parent who doesn't punish their kid for doing something wrong in school and instead blames the teacher. When will Hamas accept responsibility for putting their citizens in danger? When will they accept responsibility for firing rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians (that being their primary target with these attacks makes me sick). When will Hamas accept responsibility for firing from civilian structures? Oh, wait Hamas is accepting responsibility now as Israel wipes them off the face of the earth.

I do not condone what Israel has done. However, I also don't condone what Hamas has done. I don't condone either of their ideologies. I don't condone Israel's blockades, Hamas' attacks, or Israel's war. It is two extreme ideologies clashing against each other. Let them clash. Taking sides will only encourage these ideologies in one way or another.

Israel is occupying Palestinian land.

It's as simple as that.

To all the Israel supporters: How do you plead?

Guilty.

Actually, here is how I plead.

I think back to the fact that the UN gave Israel the land. Why would Israel take that land? Could the Jews around the world possibly have been scared and weak in sight of the fact that 6,000,000 of them had just been wiped off the face of the earth? Any Jew would have jumped at the chance to have a place to call home for their religion and their people in sight of that. This also does not mean that Israel was right to take the land, it is simply me trying to empathize.

You can look at events from many different perspectives.

Also understand that I don't support either side. I can empathize with the Palestinians also. How would it feel to be thrust from your home and have your land taken? How would it feel to be facing a superior fighting force that could do whatever they wanted with you?

Empathy is key to understanding. Strive to empathize with the people from both sides.

I got a question about that picture you posted in opening thread.

If the school was bombed, how come are the desks still in a neat organized row with only a blood spot in the middle?

The title of the thread doesn't match the pic.

I would guess because somebody who was injured was hurriedly carried into that room which was a safe distance from the carnage and placed on the floor. Probably by a family member. But I wasn't there, just thinking logically.

Palywood at it's best. Keep believing that crap. Oh yea, remember this picture? That's not a Hezbollah flag flying at the UN outpost is it? Oh wait it is. Stop taking everything for granted as soon as someone posts it. Give it some time and investigate it.

I have not read all the replies, so excuse me if this has already been asked, but why has the IDF not bombed these schools at night. If this is where Hamas forces are stock-piling there weapons, and using these locations as a firing point, wouldn't it make more sense to destroy these outlets when there is less of a chance of human casualties?

I believe that both the IDF and Hamas forces are responsible for the deaths of these children!

Israel has come a long way since then. What Israel have been doing since then has been trying to impede on Palestinian land and freedom.

Come on, Israel supporters.....RESPOND! I know it takes a while to think of something intelligent to say to this, but TRY!
