I am deeply humbled by those who have responded to this thread with their versions of "sightings," & their observations along with beliefs. I also respect those who, for their own personal reasons tend to differ.

All manner of life is subjective, & the world we share has many wonders, great & small as they are. Nonetheless, all are profound. That said, I think & hope we can all agree.

I hope more will respond to this thread with posts of their personal views.

Wishing everyone TextHappy New Yearto all out there in this 2009!

Cheers

Interesting story, did the craft you witnessed look anything like this?
I'm assuming from your description it did, but did it have the plasma in the center? Also, how are things out there in Dubai? I've heard it's shaping up to be a haven for rich international bankers/tycoons once the world economy really starts to hit the fan. I suppose you can infer what that makes the world economy...

Peace and prosperity amongst all of my friends, may the new year bring you joy and charity.

No video or pic has, or probably ever will make me believe.

What would swing it would be a personal sighting or encounter.

Even then I couldn't be 100% sure unless others around me experience the same.

You can't even trust your own judgment?
Thats bad dude.

The one that did it for me was the picture of the Battle of LA.

I had heard the story about what happened one dark night not too long after Pearl Harbor on the Jeff Rense website. They'd posted a couple stories that included pictures from the newspapers that covered the story and also included a lot of details about what happened. This was a VERY well documented event. It sparked my interest.

The best picture documenting what happened depicted 8 search lights focused on a single point in the sky. Whatever it was that they were shooting at, it was right there. I managed to find a .jpg that had been taken from the negative. The image was clear but it was washed out because it was a bright object in a dark sky. Using Photoshop to adjust the brightness & contrast, I managed to reveal something that hadn't been seen since 1942.

I used the levels control in Photoshop to bring out the mid tones by lowering the brightness and increasing the intensity of the darkness. I made several failed attempts and finally came up with the right balance to tease out the details hidden in the image. There was a classic disk shaped UFO right at the focus of the searchlights.

The following picture is the original.

And this what I came up with after adjusting it in Photoshop. The image is inverted. Black is white & white is black. The UFO showed up better that way.

I made an animated Gif that has shows several versions in a slide show. It's 168 KB so I'm posting a link to have mercy on the people still using dial up.

Animated Gif

It was the next best thing to seeing a UFO for myself. I had discovered something hidden in a picture that had been archived for 60 years. I was very excited. I even wrote a story including my enhanced picture and submitted it to the Rense.com website where I'd found the original story. They honored me by putting it on their site.

Here's a link to my story.

Battle of LA

I've always had an interest in UFO's. I had been somewhat skeptical but what happened made them real in my mind. The US Army tried to shoot down a UFO over the city of LA in 1942 and there was a picture to prove it.

Do you need any more proof than that?

great pic but i've always thought that was probably a nazi haunebu (www.stevequayle.com...) ship over los angeles that night.

there are several good pics but what converted me was a super close sighting of a silver disc with a friend in the mountains of Colorado. we both witnessed it descend a mountainside and then hover at treetop about 100 feet diagonal from us.. freaky to say the least but i still couldn't tell if it was alien or not.

Your link just redirects me to his main page, perhaps you've misprinted it? In any case, are you suggesting it was some kind of Nazi reverse engineered craft? I would imagine that if they did indeed possess technology of that type, it would be in the developmental/prototype stages, and not able to withstand a heavy barrage of AA shells. Also, the logistics of getting such a craft past radar and over such a vast distance (Germany or perhaps Japan to LA) would be an interesting proposition to say the least. Of course that's all just speculation based on my limited sphere of knowledge.

for me it was no picture or video... was just common sense. We cant be alone, and we cant be the only "chosen ones" with the right to live, breathe and have inteligence in such a big universe.

They fired 1,400 high explosive shells at whatever it was that flew over the city that night. I think that if it were some kind of German made machine that it would have been taken out by such bombardment.

Since it survived apparently unharmed then I conclude that it couldn't have been made by Germans.

I think that if the Germans had technology that could withstand such a flight that the war would have gone much differently.

I actually had a extremely clear sighting. I do believe that there is something out there, but I don't know what it is. I'm, for the most part, a very big skeptic, even after I had an "encounter", but I have an open mind to many things. Although, I'm not a sucker who believes in 95% of these fake threads in the UFO area here at ATS.

What convinced me was the amount of people who came and talked about their experiences after being directly involved in projects concerning UFO's.

The sheer amount of these officials, military people who actually were involved in the stuff coming and telling everyone about it + all of the sightings is enough for me.

With the evidence available unless your ignoring it all it's hard to believe otherwise.

this is Nazi saucer

this is the craft during the battle of LA

see a similarity?

The germans did not re-engineer craft they were developing it. It's been said that there is a field generated by the anti-grav force that could repel most conventional artillery at that time. The nazis cut a deal with the access before the war was over in exchange for technology. Study Wernher von Braun.. the notsees that weren't of military or commercial use were moved to Brazil.

Well for me, idk, i was a believer as a child, was brainwashed by the time i was out of HS, then one day i decided to do a bit of research. SOOO many stories of abductions, unexplained cow mutilations done with lazer precision. the hieroglyphics in Egypt, the Mayan ones too, some verses in the bible even state objects coming to the ground from the sky and entities walking out. just massive amounts of stories over the past thousand years or so. so much evidence pointed toward the sky. i was a believer then, but still skeptical, till i came to this site, read about all the cover ups, and conspiracies... and all are plausible.

one thing that really stood out was last month, when i was down in florida for a week. i was talkin to my friend, start joking about (ufo's) and i felt like something was odd after that was mentioned. i excuse myself, and go outside for a smoke. i looked up at the clear sky like i usualy do, and to the west, right above the horizon, (this is at 9-10PM at night) i see this object changing different colors. reminded me of a video i saw on this site and youtube.
i was just sitting there outside staring at it, i dont know any astrology or w/e. im horrible at remembering the constellations, but im pretty sure stars dont flicker green/blue/red/orange/white in random order. im also pretty sure it was low and not in space. i wanted to take a pic, but it was too far, and not really hard evidence with more convincing photos out there that dont get recognition. (in comparison) so i take down 3 smokes, go inside, go to sleep, the next day i look in the same direction, same time, nothing was there...

yea thats why i beleive.

My conversion was from a sighting of three orbs seen at 3am on a almost totally cloudy night.

The lights were seen through the clouds clear enough to distinguish shape but not clear enough for precision.

They were traveling a semi straight path and came to an open path in the clouds. One light would have gone straight through the center of the open patch and just as it did it JUMPED from the direction in a corkscrew motion in a seeming attempt to avoid it. The other two lights reacted independently and both corkscrewed at different radii and distances from the patch as well.

The angle I had was well enough to distinctly see these orbs and their edges as they reached the open patch. I've done the math from the weather radar, angle and altitude and being only 1700 feet away, I know that what I saw was silent and very real.

After that.. there's waaaay too much out there backing up what I saw and too many stories and photos to NOT be real.

Not that my story is anything special but I guess if there's a place to tell it, this thread is as good as any other.
---------
LINK OF INTEREST TO ME The entire story around this set of photographs is freaky. I'm not sure where the link is and it may be on here, but a polish psychic was given these photographs in a sealed envelope and was asked to identify the feeling he had from the envelope.. He kept saying "screw" as is screw driver. After opening the envelope he was stunned and couldn't take his eyes off it and finally exclaimed that the object in the photo was drilling into the ground to place "souls" for storage.

Given the story and the atmosphere at the location.. it's a very strange case that makes me think.

Do I believe there is some ET type of life out there? Yes.

Do I believe a UFO ever "came into earth"? Possible.

Do I believe almost any of these UFO stories? No.

I am sure many people are on the same boat. There are just way to many hoaxes to determine which ones are real - if any of these stories that go public.

I would have to agree with an above poster on this issue. If I were to firmly believe we are constantly being visited, I would need a personal encounter (not alien abduction or anything
- but something that makes my gut say so), or an event that catches the worlds eyes or make govt. officials speak up.

Well, FritosBBQTwist, here again I would submit:

The Arizona LIghts

As a candidate for just such an event.

Multiple, reliable, professional witnesses - including the Governor who is a Veteran, report in detail the same exact craft flying overhead at dusk across the state.

Then said craft is caught hovering - for a long time - on camera.

The US military intially tells all media - and privately the Governer that they have no comment - and then they later pull a lame story about A-10's and flares out of their respective arse - which is easily debunked when compared to the video captured.

If this doesn't spark curiosity even in the most skeptical of us - then nothing short of full disclosure will!

Now - I am agnostic to the presense of Aliens on Earth - but how do you discount this - the Alska incident - AND the many testimonies of US and Russian space professionals?

I find it very hard to deny that this UFO question deserves significant funds and time for official research.

Something is up - and it is time for the people of this planet to be told the truth.

Being skeptical for the sake of being in denial is just as bad as the many "F. Moulder's" out there who Want to Believe.

Let's just look at the facts - and then take action.
