Well, liberals are in power now.

So there is your answer.

Ah, finally a answer I can see as a possibility.
Thanks for pointing me farther down the rabbits hole we have gotten our selves into.

If the money is for humanitarian aid and is used for such, then I'm all for it, whether we owe them anything or not.

To hell with them! There are Amiracans, including kids, that are going hungry tonight or don't have a warm home, clean cloths, medical, school, etc, etc, etc. We should be taking care of our own before sending a damn thing to our enemies.

If the palistinians need such supplies then let iran or syria send it instead of rockets, bullets, guns, and bomb making materials. If those those sh#t hole countries gave a damn about the palistians then they would do just that.

I guess wiping Jews off the map is more important to them!

hmm - so some of you are balking at this 85 mill going to people in need.

shouldn't you care more about the millions in "bonus's" dished out to your fatcat ceo's with bailout money???

85 mill to the UN is nothing but a standard tax that goes towards trying to keep up this worlds infrastructure. whatever they do with it ... at least the intentions will be good.

what are your fatcats doing with their millions?

US sends $3 Billion in aid to Israel every year, so what's $85 million to help the dying and malnourished?

If we were in the same situation, wouldn't you want other countries to help us out too?

I am not really balking about the money or about helping those in need. There are Pakistani's who do indeed need help in many forms. I do not know exactly how it will be delivered, which worries me. Are just giving them cash? Or is it $85 million worth of needed supplies? (medical supplies, food, etc... )

I do not want the money being used to fund weapons. This is not what any of us want (I feel safe in making that assumption).

i understand how that would be a concern but as the original article stated and the poster 'intrepid' reminded us ... the money is going to the UN to disperse in aid; not arms. :-)

Ah, thats just it. To aid who? The people or the Palestanian Government?
Why isnt Israel making that statement of them sending money we give them every year opposed to the US throwing money at another crisis.
Just doesnt make sense.

supposedly the people but you know ... who knows? i personally wouldn't be too concerned about my tax dollars going to the UN and/or any of their efforts.

i'd be more focused on (and pissed about) my tax dollars bailing out already rich and wealthy people.

I'm against it. I'm against any kind of money give away from the government. For you clowns who feel bad about it, donate your own money, stop reaching into my pocket for it.

No money to banks, autoworkers, Pakistan, Israel, Palestine, or starving Africans. STOP for Christsakes! We can't afford it!

Happy times huh? If you could equate blood with money. How many ticks would it take to bleed a dog to death? That's exactly what has been happening to the U.S for years. We are being bled to death by parasites that call them selves countries. That call themselves our allies. The U.N. is the most parasitic of them all.The U.S carries the heaviest burden of monetary support for the U.N. and still the call for more.I don't begrudge aid to the ailing. But these people are professional theives.

People, people, people.
Look at the BIGGER PICTURE.
The Bankers that control the Federal Reserve and the World Bank are screwing everyone.
Read what it says below and you will realize that THEY have the POWER to CONTROL everything that is happening in the world.

The Bankers Manifesto of 1892
2005 07 02

Revealed by US Congressman Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr. from Minnesota before the US Congress sometime during his term of office between the years of 1907 and 1917 to warn the citizens.

"We (the bankers) must proceed with caution and guard every move made, for the lower order of people are already showing signs of restless commotion. Prudence will therefore show a policy of apparently yielding to the popular will until our plans are so far consummated that we can declare our designs without fear of any organized resistance. The Farmers Alliance and Knights of Labor organizations in the United States should be carefully watched by our trusted men, and we must take immediate steps to control these organizations in our interest or disrupt them.

At the coming Omaha Convention to be held July 4th (1892), our men must attend and direct its movement, or else there will be set on foot such antagonism to our designs as may require force to overcome. This at the present time would be premature. We are not yet ready for such a crisis. Capital must protect itself in every possible manner through combination ( conspiracy) and legislation.

The courts must be called to our aid, debts must be collected, bonds and mortgages foreclosed as rapidly as possible.

When through the process of the law, the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and easily governed through the influence of the strong arm of the government applied to a central power of imperial wealth under the control of the leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders.

History repeats itself in regular cycles. This truth is well known among our principal men who are engaged in forming an imperialism of the world. While they are doing this, the people must be kept in a state of political antagonism.

The question of tariff reform must be urged through the organization known as the Democratic Party, and the question of protection with the reciprocity must be forced to view through the Republican Party.

By thus dividing voters, we can get them to expand their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us, except as teachers to the common herd. Thus, by discrete action, we can secure all that has been so generously planned and successfully accomplished."

Revealed by Congressman Charles A. Lindbergh, Sr. to the U.S. Congress sometime between 1907 and 1917.

THE BANKERS’ MANIFESTO OF 1934

Capital must protect itself in every way, through combination and through legislation. Debts must be collected and loans and mortgages foreclosed as soon as possible. When through a process of law, the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and more easily governed by the strong arm of the law applied by the central power of wealth, under control of leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders. This is well known among our principle men now engaged in forming an IMPERIALISM of capital to govern the world. By dividing the people we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us except as teachers of the common herd. Thus by discrete action we can secure for ourselves what has been generally planned and successfully accomplished.

Palestinians Hate Americans....End of Story...But we are being the bettermen here by providing aid for those that are getting thier legs, arms, and heads blown off by missles and rockets. Yea we are of course on Isreals side, but its also a good thing for America to help those out who have wished us nothin but the worst. Lots ofpeople in the world absolutely hate America, but when we go in to provide help, they stop bitching for those 10 minutes of gratitude. Thats all I need. That just shows me that we are still the greatest nation on this planet and that our people do have hearts. So if you ask me, $85 mill is a drop in the bucket, esp when it is going to people who are in need of medical help, even if they hate us.

Where does all this extra money come from? The government should let other countries with money (i.e. China, Russia, Japan, The UK, Germany, etc...) pay the tab this time. We seem to spend more than other countries when it comes to humanitarianism. Why us and not them? Just look at how much we spend on the AIDS epidemic already. The US Govt should give that money back to the taxpayers and not foreigners. Its our money! We earned it, sweated for it, and some Americans have died for that money they pay in taxes. Now the US Govt shafts the taxpayer once again.

I don't think people are grasping how the aide is going to be given, first it is Given to Israel who then purchse weapons, then they write on the side of the missile what it is for, exaple this missile is for schools, the next is for hospitals amd the next is to help the construction industry by blowing up a housing complex, with 85 million dollars worth of weapons you can create plenty of reconstruction work as well as hospital work,

you see in some peoples eyes, it is mony well spent.

There is someone here who tries to claim it has been debunked

The Palestinians in Gaza don't need money, they need an open transit route!

What the heck are they supposed to do with money if Israel won't allow them to pass over their own border?

And converting it to Aid only assists a few of them for a few days... get Israel to stop blockading their ports, and allow them access to their airport and they will no longer be starving as a nation.

But nooooo, allowing Gaza access to trade and transit is clearly blasphemy to Israel and Egypt.

Let them out!
