I will have to learn how to use firefox as after your post I asked around and was told that was better than what I am using now.

I use Firefox, IE8, Chrome and Opera. I like the interface in Opera, the technichal facilities in Chrome - def the best site code reader - the eQuake and now Scrapbook in Firefox, and the fact that Orbit works in either IE or Firfox as does RoboForm

There are major discrepancy's between the maps and lists - Why. Most blatantly obvious is the 3.0 on February 12, 2010 in UT.

Most of the maps are pretty immediate and the list are updated later. That's my take on it, but I rarely look at the maps.

Also looking at the maps, the quakes seem to be spreading out in a lines so to speak - it is hard to say, does anyone else see this.

Likey along faults I would say.

Also, can you tell me how far away this shallow new swarm is from the Jan./Feb swarm?

About 15 miles

-but do any of you know if this new going on is shallower or appears to be shallower than the last?

Looks to be about the same depths on average

PS I really don't think such a small number of quakes could be considered to be a swarm unless you are seeing data that I am not. ANSS is showing 26 since 12th Feb

Chrome was also mentioned to me. After I have all my daughter's stuff downloaded to flash drive - and my things - and rebuild - I am letting him read what you are saying I need. Anyway

15 Miles is a very, very short distance!!! - - ????

You all should check all the Maps and Data from all souces - It is known as a smoke screen. Most people who are not informed will go to one (1) source - dismiss it and move on.

I have been following Yellowstone closely for many, many years. This is not the first instance. I started printing and noticing discrepancies especially during swarms - following though to the end with all updated information I could get my hands on. Ask any one of my secretary's since 2001. If you ask them, say Yellowstone and my staff will roll their eyes and say - What are They keeping from her now !! and then giggle and go back to work. Print outs every day from each and all of Them. All equal different data which I don't understand - not a matter updates and deletions of confirmed quakes. 10 years +/- this - all I say is keep informed and watch every breath.

By the way. Saw a really cool show in the history channel the other night (can I mention names) - on the History Channel "How the Earth was Made" and the subject was "The Ring of Fire". Does not directly speak of Yellowstone - but They do not know. Anyway, said show talks about "How" water is established with movement of the plates to depths of the earth - a must see as I can't write it all. We touched on the water creating/contributing to the swarms some 100 pages back (would be nice if that reference in Firefox was up and running). Also - last night - After People - from what I gained from that is "Fruit Cake" Stock up if you want to survive - it lasts forever - go figure. Not that I'm saying anything about anything other than - Fruit Cake will last for a very long time.

Robin - Congratulation to you! I hope Those you wrote will listen to you - do not get disturbed if they don't though - if it is not "Their Idea" it most likely won't hold weight, but I am sure They will look now and come up with the "Thought" I do hope you get credit other than here!!! I understand and know your point of view and agree with your point of view. To me it is unfathomable that not many people can understand your concept when in fact every day "in your face" the moon shows us it's effect on the outer surface of the earth by the tides of the ocean - isn't inner earth liquid, gas, molten? = why different - because it has a measly little layer of rock over it?

AND, I don't want to here from Anyone about a differant thread for such things!!!!

Thanks for that - salt on a wound :-) Good thing I have a fairly easy morning with paperwork and not computer work - yes, I think that will be my listening entertainment as I do the dreaded payroll - which is just like the dreaded X, along with the usual.

Chrome is good. Basically if you want to save sites DON'T use IE8 and trying saving as MHT files. It tends to fail frequently. Go for Firefox and Scrapbook

I do check more than one - for yellowstone ANSS and USGS mainly, but let's face it the data source for this is pretty much the same. Maps are of little interest to me. I want data I can analyse, store and tabulate, and if I want maps I can use my program to take me to Google Earth for any earthquake in my database.

Wow, that would be something to get a look at!

(can I mention names)

Yup they is sore says

- on the History Channel

That will be on that square box in the corner of the room we don't use (living room). I have forgotten where the on switch is as it has not been turned on for months, bar about twice. I find it is useless as a browser as it only changes to fixed sites and you cannot wilf off somewhere else, and it is useless for downloads.

Thank you for noticing. I was beginning to wonder if I was seeing things.
Roes also reported a 2.6 quake in yellowstone but I was closed out of the site before I could get the details. I haven't noticed anyone else reporting a 2.6.

I don't know - I is all over the park on most of the seismo's that are working. Radar shows no real precipitation. No real wind. hhmmm.

I sent out an e-mail earlier this morning to UofU asking about the downed seismo's - Maybe they are working on it.

YLT is still working for me on GEE
This is similar to what was going on on Feb 13 from 13:27 to 15:00
Then the mini swarm started at 15:23:56

Regarding the 2.6 the largest quake I recorded was at
11:19:30.951 and it was closest to B207. I haven't learned how
to use the locater in GEE yet.

[edit on 18-2-2010 by EngTech36]
I just found this on the Yellowstone List which is 9 seconds before
I picked it up on B207
1.2 2010/02/18 04:19:21 44.562N 110.958W 8.7 16 km (10 mi) SE of West Yellowstone, MT

Have a good day.

Another fairly good sized quake showed up at 13:03:51.146
on YLT which it was closest to, but it did show on B205, B207 and
slightly on YHH

edit on 18-2-2010 by EngTech36]

Check out YNR, YML and B205 18:18:57 they seem to be
getting bigger!

Is anyone else having trouble getting old faithful live webcam to work? Seems like it is turned off. Just asking in case it's my laptop and not the cam.
Thanx

I'm not being albe to pull up the old faithful webcam either so I don't think it's your computer. Unless it's both of ours

I do not think it is your laptop. I think it's the web cam. I am not able to get on either.

Or, that would make at least 3 of us.
