Being reported as 2.5! Seems rather low...

I agree. I imagine it may get changed once it is reviewed. Looks much bigger than the other 2-3 mag quakes.

It got already reviewed by a seismologist.
But that was probably only the first of the three earthquakes occurred in rapid sequence.

I think that the recent sunspot activity has much to do with the earthquake
acitivity we are seeing. Sunspot 1040 was directly facing earth the day of the Haitian quake, and it was also pulsing and acting very vibrant. Tonight I check and see that there are now 2 sunspots going on, 1040 and 1041, we have not had hardly any sunspots for 2 yr period. I am a firm beleiver that the havoc that sunspots play with our magnetosphere have a direct effect on earth, as it pulls and stretches it also pulls on the surface of the earth.

Everyone keep an eye open and stay safe!

usgs is making overtime with yellowstone...they are far behind with scaling it... regarding YMR data....

Wow....she definately has NOT gone to sleep yet (like I should be). Three decent sized quakes, several 'hic-ups' and now another nice sized one just occured (at least 2 mag), all in the first two hours of the day. It might be a long one...I have a feeling this is NOT over yet.

Edit to add: This is picking up now....yet another, even bigger one is rolling out. They seem to be intensifying. (0302 mst)

Well that's understandable since at the moment:
- It's late night in Utah
- It's weekend

It's true, though, that they're not working on them 24/7 like they wrote on their website

YMR is currently not available through the IRIS BUD system that GEE and other similar programs use.

Yup, but there's LKWY (sp) and others around area - just wondered which ones the others were watching on GEE as can't remember..

**(Amateur still learning)**

I'm taking a guess that based on the seismograph readings that the epicenter of the 3.6 Bondurant location will get revised quite a bit north much closer to the swarm.

MAG UTC - y/m/d h:m:s LAT deg LON deg DEPTH km LOCATION
3.6 2010/01/23 22:01:27 43.512 -110.249 2.5 38 km (24 mi) NNE of Bondurant, WY

**Edit for update**
Looks like it's been reviewed & is unchanged. Does this point to more of tectonic cause or could the southern end getting cranky too?

B207 is the best one to watch on GEE. Add the network PB - plate boundary observatory, then the station PB.B207

I just select "all channels" and choose EHZ.

Another good one is WY.YMC - add the network WY.

I also use WY.YPM, when you have seen many earthquakes occurring in that area, it's easy to estimate the magnitude by looking at how much time the station is saturated.

By the way quakewatcher, is it possible on Swarm 2.0rc to tile webicorder charts horizontally rather than vertically in the kiosk view?

I've also been reading up on a spiritual/metaphysical note regarding the sun. What seems to be happening is that the sun needs to get vital information to the Earth at this time of ascension. Also, rumor has it that many new pathways are being created inside the Earth.

We are probably in for many more quakes, and in areas not previously prone to them.

Well... I actually never use kiosk mode. I just leave the map up. Now that I've tried it, I just get the same view but without window decorations. When there's a webicorder view up too, it just tiles them (horizontally). How do you have your windows set up before going into kiosk mode?

Sorry, I actually meant tiling them horizontally (the screen is divided in upper half and bottom half). Right now I have only one helicorder view. If I open another one and then hit the button for the kiosk mode, regardless of their position on the screen, it tiles them vertically (left half and right half).

I use the kiosk mode in order to see the helicorder view in full screen in another monitor.
