I can only speak for myself, but I have never felt that I became a Christian (follower of Christ) because of a scare tactic.

I do not know why atheists can not accept the fact that some of us do really feel the love and grace of our heavenly Father before we ever feel fear. I can honestly say I do not fear God or his word.

The fellowship time that we spend together is so special and a very privite time indeed. It is a spiritual awakeing everytime we meet and there is no fear there.

So please, do not imply that Christians become so because of a scare tactic. It is more because of being one with the Creator and belonging to something much to wonderful to put into words.

I would agree the Christians don't neccessarily have to be there due to scare tactics. I would easily withdraw that had I said it. However, I also don't think all athiests are in their positions of belief due to stupidity or ignorance. I still to this day wish all sides would relax and quit judging

Morals is not just about not stealing killing etc ..
It is about loving your neighbor as yourself ...loving your enemies ....doing good to those who despitefully use you .not an eye for an eye but a turning of the other cheek ....loving those who HaTE YOU ....etc etc ...it goes deeper than just dont kill or steal ..


And yes alot of those who claim to be Christians lack in morals ...because they never really did accept the Lord COMPLETELY In their heart ...they are not BORN AGAIN OF THE SPIRIT ......if they were they would do as Christ did no matter the cost ..(they could not help themselves their consceinces would be pricked and they would feel so guilty that they could not do so many wrongs to others) they would not take revenge ..they would give up their own life for an enemy ...not kill them etc etc ....


I believe that some people who do not know God does have LOVE ...they just do not have the LOVE that the Lord has or the Love that the HOLY SPIRIT teaches to us ....I never even imagined that love to be as it is ..and I really did know what love was ..but not like what I have learned since knowing Christ and having him in me ..............

If you have LOVE you have GOD ..and I believe that those who do have LOVE (real genuine love) they will come to know the Lord before it is to late ...of that I have no doubt ....but if not ..the bible says they will TURN COLD .....the bible says many hearts will grow cold ....and become reprobate ...so you cant just hang onto the fact that you have love ..because that love during really hard times may not be there anymore ...when numero uno is in a bind ...love goes out the door and self takes over ...you will kill maybe and steal maybe etc just to survive .....and for sure many who thought they had love will find out it may not have been sincere love after all ...

Even the word says there are people who have no concience and do not care about anyone other than self ...those people have no morals whatsover and they may not kill or steal ...but they sure put themselves above all others and only love those who love them etc ..etc etc

And alot of times even some so called believers only obey the comandments and do good just for reward etc ..and to be seen of men ...with no genuine concern for anyone ...GOD knows your heart and your intent so those people are not going to get away with anything ...neither will the unbeliever ...

Hey I am not concerned. We don't agree but that doesn't mean things can't be civil which they are. So I have no issues

Truth be told I would be proud to call most people here friend. So we don't agree on some fundamental things. If that means we can't be friends then there is something wrong with us, not the system.

But atheists and non-believers can behave in the manner you describe.

People with a conscience will not,for example,cause an animal pain because in turn it causes them pain too,and guilt.

A belief in god does not have to teach you that.Its innate.

Capital punishment can be classed as immoral,but justice is the biggest factor.
Abortion (except in certain cases) will always be immoral,but will always be accepted because to not accept means back alley abortions,abandoned children etc.

But what about the many of those who didn't accept the Lord into their heart and still live by those very morals you spoke before? What about those people?

Not only that, but those people are more inclined to love their neighbor who is Muslim, Hindu, or gay, because they have no text to tell them that they shouldn't.

Hello Danteslost. My Sister worked with a gent called Pat for ten years and he was an atheist. He thought when you die, thats it!

That was his belief as a human being and rightly so! (he unfortunately died of cancer).

She always talks about Pat in a way that was funny ( I met him and he was a laugh ), but also respectful. He never slagged any religion or belief but promoted care between each other. So as a christian/spiritual/ not even sure person myself, I have to say his love of every human being made me what I think about people today.

I,m not atheist, I have my beliefs but I suppose what I,m saying is that I,ve learnt from someone else,s experiences. That I think is what life is all about, as long as you take the positives on board and dont hurt anyone on your way.

So maybe atheists are a mixture of people,

1. definately think there is nothing after death
2. possibly might be but its too far fetched
3. maybe but I just cant beleive it
4. denial ?
5. God and other things?

Who knows, and probably there,s a thousand more questions.

Would you not say something to a neighbor who was an Al Queda terrorist ?Who was about to give his life for his god allah ... Even if he was a really good decent guy but he was about to give his life (by blowing himself up for his supposed god )..or would you just tell him ..hey whatever you want to believe then its fine by me ? >>...who am I to try and tell you your wrong and your beliefs are messed up and you serve the wrong god buddy ....

What if that Muslim neighbor was about to kill his wife because his bible says he can ...what would you do then ? >.....
What if that Iranian neighbor had a rock and was about to parade in the streets if New York beating the demons out (like they do in their own country)...what would you say to him ?

If you really cared for them truly ...you would certainly say something ..


I actually have a neighbor that sounds like you ...she always says she has no problem with other beliefs and yet she hates mine ...she got really really sick and was praying to this that and the other (godesses,earth fairies etc) ..reading self help books galore ...nothing worked ..so she went to Dr after Dr after Dr who all said they could not do anything but operate again and again ...which she got sick and tired of ...And I just told her (because I love her) LOOK why dont you call the real one and only LIVING GOD for help asking in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord ......
She got so mad ...then a few days later she went to my Dr (which I had no idea he would ask her to pray with him ) (who is a real Christian ) and he flat out told her he could do nothing but operate or PRAY with her ....he asked if he could pray with her and he did right there in the OFFICE (and she came home crying she was so touched by the presence of God in him ) and she got better and is now completely HEALED >>>.
Because he cared enough for her to just let it all hang out (Asking to pray with her) ............even though she did not believe ..and it could have been offensive to her but he cared more about her health and sadness and pain more than he did wether or not he would offend her ..

She would not pray with me because she thinks I am a dodo head lol ...She looks down on me because she thinks I am not very smart and she is so much smarter than me ...but my Dr is smarter than her so she listened to him ..lol .......I am glad ....I wanted her to get better and prayed for her constantly .......

See this is exactly what I mean though. I said Muslim, not al Qaeda. They are not synonymous. If an al Qaeda operative lived next door to me and I knew he was going to blow himself up?

I'd call the cops. That's what I would do. In a perfect world, I would not tell him that he is going to lose his soul, I'd tell him that he's killing innocent people, which serves no good purpose, and that no all knowing God would approve of such things anyway.

That's in a perfect world. In the real world... I'd call the cops. But that's what I mean. I have no moral obligation to think down on Muslims, other religions, and gays. I have no real reason to look down upon anybody except those who do immoral things.

And let's be honest, the Muslims have a chance of being right also (not about the jihad thing, but at least their faith being the correct one), which means you could be the one losing your soul for practicing the wrong religion.

I would say something. Those are not immoral things only to religious people. That would also offend any atheist, agnostic, christian, or most people in general. Of course I, and most other people, would say something.

SO you think caring enough about your neighbor to tell them what they believe will have serious consequences in this life and the after life is looking down on them ?
Or telling them that the god they serve is not being any sort of a God to ask them to blow themselves up ...some of you dont have any problem telling GW BUSH and the Republicans that ..Why would an Extremist Muslim be excluded .........and why would that be in your eyes considered looking down on them ? >>>>Wouldnt you care enough about them to try and set them straight on what kind of god they are serving ?Some of you have no problem saying something to us Christians about some of the things that are in the OT >..do you tells us this because you care or not ? >..

Well I disagree ....we are all in this world together ...and yes we are our brothers keepers and we all have a moral obligation to eachother ..whether we like it or not ..that is LOVE >....

I don't have any trouble telling the whole lot of them that, but I'm not walking up to one and doing that. That's just asking to get killed. Insulting an already dangerous person's beliefs is possibly the dumbest thing you can do.

That would be like writing an open letter to the UnaBomber telling him how he is wrong about society, and then not expecting a package in the mail.

How would I know he was an extremist Muslim? Would I feed a Muslim who was at my door step begging for food? Yes.

Remember, I said Muslim, and you brought up extremist. That should tell you something about your views on Muslims.

I know many Christians that have no morals, or claim to be righteous but behind closed doors - are not. The difference is; they use religion to hide them.

Working in human behavior if I have heard this once, I have heard it hundreds of times; my father was an elder, pastor, minister, yada, yada, "But boy, no one knew who he really was in the church! If they only knew! He puts on a different face in church and is entirely different at home."

Of course it would only be the religious that would make your claim in the OP. Atheists are just not using a facade to cover up with. It is a typical blanket statement by those who are looking to criticize and to cast the first stone.

I have found that those who are the most critical of others are often more guilty than those whom they are prosecuting!!
