As long as we are human we will never be peaceful for we ALL think of self interest, it is the key to our survival.

For example each person fights over a pie but in the end they all get a slice ensuring survival.

So, how about telling us what you are doing about it. Maybe some of us are doing something and the others don't know what to do. Instead of cutesy remarks you could educate all of us stupid ATSers and not act like you are above everyone else on here.

I contacted my rep about being lobbied for a piece of the bailout. I didnt pull any punches- even told the old coot what i wanted it for!

now, is the OP statement, that all members of the House & Senate get an increase of $4,700.--- does that ammount equal the 5.6% COLA for 2008?

If it's more than the allowable COLA then the money can then be seen as an unwarrented raise...

Falling on deaf ears is basically somebody not wanting to hear the truth or deal with reality.

I'm in construction and I have to fight a wage salary against ILLEGAL,undocumented workers. So technically I have been losing money every year for years. So basically this economic destruction has been applied to my life gradually for years. You are also probably a sympathiser on this topic as well.

This my friend is why people take matters into their own hands and commit the acts they do.The only thing I would ask is that these acts be commited against the corporate people and elected officials who cause our misfortunes and not the innocent ones.

If this also has fallen on your deaf ears, let me know because I know sign language.

I'm going to send my congressman and senators a link to this thread. Not that they could give a piece of fly manure for what any of us think. I do encourage others here to do the same. If they are going to give us the shaft, they should not be allowed to get away with it without getting a maximum of flack for it. If I'm going to get raped, I'm going scream.

For those thinking about mailing them something, I'd be more inclined to donate some choice pieces from my kitty litter box.

I know someone who has multiple litter boxes, and what's in them could be construed as WMDs.

you the people of the u.s are complaining about a mere raise of 4,700.00 $ thank god you don`t live here in Canada where our illustrious leaders of this this great province of Ontario voted themselves a raise.this was after telling us that there would be no new taxes [BULL4539947]. they got elected and the first thing they gave us was a $900.00 a year tax increase under the disguise of health benefits as the cost of health care was rising ,bull,this is what the province was paying out of our tax dollars ,they just stuck us with the bill.that is $900.00 per person x 21 million people=how many billion.

our reward for them taxing us for health care was -get this -was $ 35,000.00 dollars a year each ,PER MEMBER OF THE ONTARIO GOVERNMENT.this raise of theirs was more a year than 60 % of the population of Canada makes in a year.this raise gives them over $125,000.00 a year not including their perks and bonuses ,they can make over $200,000.00 a year plus car and drivers and we even get stuck with their gas bill.

it used to be the g8 it is now up to g20 and counting how many until it is world wide leadership of self serving fools.

but a lot of us just don't know what to do. or where to start looking to begin to learn what to do.

I for one wish I could get in contact with people in my area so that we could at least try to do SOMETHING...I just don't know where to look unfortunately

If I was you, I'd first check on the average salary before putting this on paper.. after all, the bank sector alone has majorly bumped the "average" salary quite a bit I guess.

you are so correct that all complain and nothing ever gets started.but there once was a thread here on ats from a prof. emeritus that asked how we could start to fix all that is wrong in this world.just after we got started one of the elitists who run this site shut it down as it was "POLITICAL". the funny thing is that some of the ideas coming out were not only viable they would and could work and not a shot would be fired .

it seems that the elders of this sight only deny ignorance as long as they can control it like the man controls the people

people, you too have a responsibility to the constitution. stop fueling the fire. stop conforming and funding the corruption. do not be afraid to make a stand in the name of what is right.

stop paying taxes, stop filing income tax returns, don't pay fines, only spend money you need to for survival. if possible, even stop working. shutting the system down is the only way to change it. whatever you do, do not wait for OBAMA to fix it. that is a fantasy and a trick.

i personally have been doing this, but if people do not start joining me it has no effect. please join me in fighting back! i am sacrificing my home and my 20 year business for what is right. don't be led to your slaughter, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
