I think it would be interesting for people in the world to start a campaign to send an old pair of shoes to the Whitehouse.

I suspect there are those who think it would be unpatriotic but I say it is a statement about the last 8 years.

Piles of shoes growing on the Whitehouse lawn.

Edit: the postal service has a 'shoe box' priority mailing box that would be just the right size. Hey, they picked the name and we can make use of it.

If i lived in america i would personally hunt bush down and throw a flip flop at him!

I thought that was so funny when it was mentioned on the news and on ATS!

I think that's a GREAT idea! I'm sure I can dig up an old pair of smelly sneakers somewhere

I wouldn't dare send a pair of my shoes to the white house. However, I would love to send a bag of dog (fill in the blank) to show them how much they smell.

Maybe a pair of waders would be more appropriate for D.C. or the Whitehouse?

Certainly is a funny idea though, and they could all be given to charity after the point was made

Ship early so that they don't arrive at the doorstep after Barack Obama's inauguration on January 20, 2009. We will have 4 years to criticize his policies after all.

Too funny!

It's still a waste as he's leaving. CONGRESS on the other hand is staying and they've been destroying everything. I laughed awhile back when their approval rate was 9% thinking it couldn't get any lower. Well that was before this bail out bull****. I wouldn't be surprised if it was down to 4 or 5% now.

What a great idea. If you don't want to pay the shipping then just toss some shoes on your state capital steps - they'll get the message. I'm going to drop off a stinky pair of sneakers at the US embassy

Great idea with a twist.

Go to a Vets Hospital or a Homeless Shelter, Retirement Home.

Take a wonderful new pair of warm cozy boots or slippers - something nice, and exchange your new shoes the shoes of the downtrodden and send THOSE to Bush!

Keep the Holiday spirit of giving alive, do something kind and caring for someone in need, and get your point across too!

Send away!

Just make sure to send to the Bush Villa/Compound in Acuifero Guarani - not the White House!

Thats actually a pretty brilliant idea. we have to act quick though cause we don't need to be sending smelly shoes to the obama admin. we need to get the shoes to bush. not the new president.

Hey fido!!! Daddys got a smelly old pair of running shoes I need to you to take a dump in!!! here fido!!!!

send bush dog poop filled shoes for christmas. so much better than a lump of coal.

The election represented the shoes.

The guy is history, just let him go. Last minute jibes are pointless at this stage, they would mean nothing to him anway, the intelligence required to understand the significance just isn't there.

PS - I thought his duck to avoid the incoming shoes was the most effective steps he has taken in the last 8 years.

yeah if only his mind were that agile.

But I think that it would send a message to the world, and thats whats important.

you can always get a cheap pair of shoes for a few bucks at a thrift store

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I think this is a fantastic idea. Everyone should do this.

I honestly don't think its a good idea. First off, it's a waste of resources during the holiday season (its hard enough getting gifts to the people you love during this time without bombarding the P.O. with shoeboxes lol) and second, what point could you possibly be making when it has already moved from a statement to a big joke? also, if you do, DON'T put a return address on it (geeez), you will be added to a 'list' and then have fun trying to travel LOL.

I'm already sick of the "shoe" jokes. I think the gesture has made its point (I laughed till I cried at the news) and it is now just a joke being told over and over and over again.

anyway.... my spare change on the mater.
