Another concept: the Gnostics put forward that the devil is bad and rules the earth. Christians ran with this thinking.

Is it possible that Satan is actually on the same team as God, and that he is just doing his duty? Playing mankind's adversary, but is not God's? Satan is here to refine, and define us. He puts us into situations or takes advantage of situations, to do this.

Yes, evil exists and may be the demons playground and their tool, but it does not signify that Satan is the bad guy after all.

That would be thinking mt friend!

It would make sense to me with-in the grand scale of things. Kind of a good cop bad cop thing going on. Bit like "wait till your father gets home" stuff.

Maybe its all very very simple and we as humans are making it all to complicated. mmmmmmmm!

Ah thank you...I was having a really rubbish day till I read this little bit of clarity. Complexity means power, so of course it will be used to suppress and control....and there has to be balance in all things or they simply won't work. I see the same thing happening now with modern "spiritualities" which deny that there is a dark side, even a good dark side. It's absolutely needed. Without it, they become as warped as the "dark side" they so quickly dimiss.

thank you.......

I think we all feel the need to be so black and white. Its just not the way things are. There is no pure evil or pure good.

How could Satan, once being a child of God, be pure evil? There just isn't any logic behind that. He once felt remorse, love, mercy in his existence. There wasn't one moment where he became all encompassing evil, and started hating everything.

I think this form of duality is for small-minded people. They want to have something to look forward to, so they create an alternative that is damning and scary. Bah, I don't get the point.

I don't believe he exists, but if he does, I forgive him. May he one day get over his anger and dance among the rest of us sinners in bliss.

Same goes for everyone evil. The soul wasn't built for eternal damnation, and someday everyone gets another shot.

Thank you, again!

Perhaps in an Utopian society, there would not be the need for this sort of balance. The New Age thinkers also teach that the ego is bad. This is a bunch of people who essentially don't know what an ego really is. I hear them misrepresenting it all the time. It really bugs me!

I unfortunately have been around evil. It is not easy to put into logical words. But I have found these individuals to be ones who hurt with the motive to deliberately demean or hurt one emotionally etc. and or; set someone up, and have a pattern of doing so. They can also be called: crazy-makers. They are without conscience. I have also had demon experiences that leaves one with the absolute knowledge that there are malevolent creatures out there!

But where Satan comes in, is as a tool. A tool of refinement. It also explains why God or The Gods have not done away with him for all of his alleged evil activities. It makes sense that he fits into an overall plan. Anyway, my experience and opinion!

Of course, yes...I've heard that "ego" argument many many times, and it always signifies to me that I'm talking to someone who has learned their spirituality by rote, and hasn't truely integrated any of the lessons. but then, if we are to follow our own suggestions, we should be telling these darkening souls in "lightworker" bodies that we love them. It's just that they annoy the crap out of me...*grin!*

Maybe I need to start a rant thread about them....

Well, you may not like my next take: I don't love everyone!
It is another codependent scheme to me!

Maybe I need to start a rant thread about them....

Oh, god! You do so, and I will definitely add my 2 cents!! I would love it!!

Ha! I don't love everyone either, and apparently that "brings dark energy into my aura.....!" I will start a rant thread so we don't get wildly off topic here....just give me a couple of hours to let the words gel a bit. It's all stuff I *badly* need to get out of my system anyway.

See you there...

Hello

you cant love everyone all of the time, or can you! I think i love many people all the time. Family, friends et al.

The last few posts have been very good. Maybe the devil, if he exists, is part of the bigger plan.

All said and done is, do we forgive the devil and will love and forgiveness make him melt slightly and maybe see his errors.

As we have heard, he came from Heaven, or is heaven not all it makes out to be or is it just a story.

Al

MatxP Great post and I think it would make sense. Maybe all our earth rat (humans) that read this might realise its a far bigger picture than we have all been led to beleive.

Right, wrong, up, down, left, right. Good Bad! We are all brought up to beleive what we are told, true or not we beleive it until we gain life knowledge. I dont beleive in many things I was told were true when I was a kid. I beleive you learn every day. By your bad things and good stuff.

I have to agree that i,m not afraid of the Devil, he,s just another man made made thing to teach us wrong and right. Has it worked! Hell NO! Still killing each other and fighting.

So yes I would hug the (man made) devil and I would say I,d be elated by his love back. Hows that

Thank you! Oh I do believe it is much bigger than we give credit to.

Isn't it all about being set free?

Those that choose to stay in the rats maze will have a good time climbing all over each other, for that is what seems to be happening!

If what christian faith says is true! Be all forgiving.

Should, if i,m unfortunate to meet satan, and look at him and say 'I forgive you'. Would he feel weak to my desire of forgiveness and love. All I remember being taught is hatred for satan. If he exists and maybe if we all gain undying love we could turn him to a nice guy.

maybe he's already a nice guy?

no one ever really says - being taught to hate someone is totally independent of what that person is actually like

it's usually a result of the teacher of hate's motives rather than the actual character of the one being presented as worthy of hate!

neither GOD nor Jesus ever said to hate the so-called devil, aka *satan*

it is religious leaders and their followers that tell us we should hate that one.

If I said that I 'love him' and he has been very bad. Sounds like kids talk but what if I actually met him and genuinly felt sorry for his ways.

what ways?
what does love have to do with someone's ways?
you either love them or you don't, regardless of what they do or do not do.

BUT
what if he's actually GOD's most obedient workman?

what if he has great love for humanity?

so great that he's willing to do the rottenest, dirtiest, most despised job in all of Heaven's appointments...but perhaps the most needed and beneficial for man's success...knowing that he will be hated by those he serves (humanity) forever more...and volunteering, anyway?

not even asking for the chance to clear his name when it's all said and done and GOD's incredible master plan is revealed to all mankind?

We all have good and bad and all that. Just a thought but your comments would be appreciated.

Albert

thank you for your open mind

“But who prays for Satan? Who, in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most?”
(~ Mark Twain)

i have prayed for *satan* - and no, i'm not a *satanist* or so-called *devil worshiper* - i just try to do what Jesus said to do.

what did Jesus say?

LOVE your enemies!!!!

and so i love *satan*, too - and *satan* knows it.
which makes us not enemies!

no lie.

hahaha

Satan is insensible to love. Go in the hood. Some gangsters without grace. You say you love them they woop that Butt. They don't care.

That's like the people who beat christ. They couldn't produce grace. Or feel. they were as God said insensible for his love for them.

God knew that.

Satan is the head of evil. He has the least graces out of any creature to ever live. Or most evil.

it wouldn't work.

how do you know?

by your own admission, more or less, you state that you've not given it a try.

Satan is the head of evil.

but who created evil?

(isn't the grace of GOD sufficient for all??)

like i already said, you haven't tried.
:shk:
the #1 way to get rid of one's enemies is to love them.

Abraham Lincoln knew this and so did Jesus.

Love your enemies
bless them that curse you
do good to them that hate you
and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you

why do you not obey Jesus?
