That come upon a planet with aliens that look similar to humans but not technologically advanced yet. If we had the technology to get to their planet of course?

This is just a little reverse psychology thinking experiment.

Us humans have a way of seeing ourselves as a pretty low species compared to other life forms visiting this planet because they are so technologically advanced.

We are also afraid off the unknown which off course we should be and we are afraid of what may come out of it if they let themselves be known.

We automatically know or have read or assumed that these aliens might only come with agenda's to experiment on us and see our thoughts and way off life. The only reason we would think this is because we would do this ourselves if we visited another planet. But those who care for the environment and all living things will be against this but we would be powerless to stop governments from doing so.

I think those living on other planets not technologically advanced would be so afraid off us humans because humans or should i say governments carry out projects to manipulate, kill our own kind and love experimenting. If anythign we are dangerous to ourselves and other life forms. Just look at the state of this planet and how we brought down this organisms conciousness to suit our way off thinking that has been reproduced through generations to carry the same mind sets.

If anything i would be afraid off humans. It is such a sad and sorry world that we have to be afraid of our own kind and the only mammals who do so. Because if there was a time we needed to defend our world from hostile advanced aliens we would be doing it to save our own kind and it will most probably be the only time in history we would ever help our kind instead of killing them.

You are so right.

If Aliens came here trying to help our planet, they would be killed before they even started. I believe that cerain Aliens are trying to help us (OK, just a thought I have) but they can't manifest themselves because they know they would be gunned down and/or experimented on.

Humans are very cruel - to their own, to animals, and certainly to Aliens.
If I was an Alien I would be very scared of humans.

So why are we scared of Aliens? They can't be worse than us.

After your normal, average human has killed the alien, I'm sure that he would then treat it very well, as it will not be likely to pose much of a threat.

I guess we would never know if they were friendly or not.

As much as other aliens on other planets would know if we were friendly or not. But it is quite ironic we would allow government scientists to be the first to reach these other planets if we had the technology to do so because we automatically know that if they did find other lifeforms they would definately be hostile towards them. Kiddnapping and experimenting on these new life forms. We all know that this would be quite possible if we had the technology.

Im sure they would not send Buddha, the dalai lama to vist the new planet. You can just imagine what types of humans will be visiting them planets.

And that will be our downfall and the death of Planet Earth.

Also, your normal, avergae human - whoever that is - would not be killing indiscriminately - it would be the US government or other bigwigs

The problem is fear.

We fear anything we dont understand (and by we I mean human beings as a race). When you get down to it, the underlying reason behind most of our conflicts is fear...fear of a different religion, fear of communism, fear of capitalism, etc.

Alien visitation would be no different. Who here could honestly say that if all of a sudden you came face to face with a being from another world, the first reaction wouldnt be fear? Of course no alien has anything to worry about with me...I have no means to hurt them, but governments feel fear too and they have the means to react with violence.

So personally, I dont really think that we are ready for it yet. Soon maybe...because people as a whole seem to be coming more aware and more accepting of the possibility. I think thats what aliens are waiting for...for us to overcome some of our fear.

Good point, Oz, but we had better get ready for that soon or we are going to run out of time.

Their patience will run out soon.

I am an Indigo and I sense these things. Hi from NZ

Who said I was normal or average?

From what I've been told, most aliens are friendly, so I welcome the chance to meet them. I don't want to kill the good ones! Peace sells, but who's buying??? (Dave Mustaine believes in them too)

Sure, I'll take a swing at the one's which are hostile... but I'd probably stand more chance battling them with psychic powers instead.

Humans would treat aliens with fear and hostility. Mainly because of humanity's primative war like nature that still thrives to this day. They are well aware that it wont be "roll out the red carpte break out the champaign" type welcome, so they pretty much stay away and observe us from their cloaked UFO's that we can pick up with our primative digital cameras in nightshot IR mode.

Cheers!!!!

tezz, I said will you still be laughing when the world ends. I did NOT say you were normal or average. FAR FROM IT in fact.

This is how we would treat Aliens

And if they sneak around in the dark

WE SHOULD

They have been reported to:

Abduct people at will...
Perform medical experiments without anesthesia
Mutilate Cow...
Hide in underground bases with nasty labs

It has been said that the Ancients bred us as slaves or for the dinner table

How SHOULD we treat them?

RF,

What I don't understand though, is why are governments forever fighting?

Why are religions forever fighting?

Why is every organization forever fighting?

Why can't we just save our planet?

The odds are that I'll end before the world does. I'm not here forever, so will it really matter?

I don't know if we're in end times or not. If we are, then cool... it had to happen at some stage, right? Lucky us to see it all unfold, hey?

Anyway, the end of the world as we know it, is so ID4 and just as cliched. Those aliens made it so much easier to hate them! One of them even snubbed the generous offer from the POTUS! How gracious, honorable and peaceful that POTUS was... nothing could be further from the truth back in the real world.

I'm not sure why the real aliens are keeping themselves hidden though... That's one answer I would like to know.

The only reason they havn't revealed themselves in public is because they fear what humans are capable of!

People have seen UFO's hovering above nuclear power stations and weapons factories... What does this tell you about them.

What ever they are be it a new race or people who have time traveled. It seems they want to help us. We need all the help we can get! We have destroyed this planet, and i think if we try to claim another planet they will destroy us!

They are keeping an eye on us!

We'd observe them for a while. maybe try and get a sample of their dna, then make contact with them. Then probably have sex with them.

Hi Zor

Obviously there are goodies and baddies - much like here - but what I am saying is that the goodies have little chance of getting here.

As for being bred for the table - do you spare a thought for all our animals?

Yes i can imagine first contact being more like an african safari then anything else.

First we'd tranquilize them by the dozen. Do some experiments, if they was completely like us then that would be worse for them. We could test new weapons and various medical products on them. (Think of scientists being totally free to experiment without any moral obligation)

We would assess their environment and utilize the population to mine and gather resources for us.

The local population would be portrayed as animals, 'uncivilized aliens' in the media and we would here about them attacking our scientists. We would be told that without our help they would surely kill each other.

We would do very bad to things to them and the public would be 100% behind it.

The end game however, would probably be for us to move certain animals and plants from our planet there and move all our top guys there to 'give our species a second chance'. The poor would remain on earth, abandoned by those in power and the earth would be totally devoid of most natural resources which are accessable.

No not really All they would have to do is move openly. Send us messages from say the moon... video signals set up dialog Arrange a landing in broad daylight on the white house lawn.

Kinda like the Val Thor story.. or "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (original)

or the Holloman AFB landing

But then you are going on the assumption that they are not here already and working with us
