Good question, I have no idea though. I'm in the Colorado mountains, but now I'm curious and must go ask the google! lol

Schenectady, NY, where I live, would most likely be a nuclear strike zone because it has the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, the Stratton Air National Guard Base which is home to the 109th, a unit that specializes in transportation and is used to ferry supplies to other bases as well as resue missions to both the Arctic and Antarctic circles where scientific bases are located, a General Electric plant that manufactures engines for both civilian and military aircraft, and is also located next to a major political and communications hub in Albany, NY, which is also the state Capital of NY.

Hello,

I live midway between The Home of NATO HQ, "NATO Strike Command" at Northwood, Middlesex and "RAF Strike Command" in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

So I'm guessing I am really in for an interesting time being sandwiched between the two locations, both being very active bases and heavily guarded.

I live approx 12 miles from NATO Strike Command and about 7 miles from RAF Strike Command here in South Buckinghamshire, England UK.

Regards.

That should put you just east of Santa Rosa, CA. Past (and present?) home of of a FEMA facility:

Santa Rosa, 38† 26.4' N 122† 42.9' W, FEMA, Regional center for west coast

And still east of a COG bunker linked to the facility:

The United States Air Force has confirmed that those mysterious helicopter
flights over Napa County are classified operations. The helicopters are
supplying what appears to be a secret base located on Bureau of Land
Management property, without the knowledge or permission of the Bureau. The
U.S. military has not informed Napa County, nor has it indicated any- thing
on FAA/Military maps.

Aerial shots taken this weekend over the 87 acre Bureau land near Oakville
Grade show large cement bunkers with large concrete doors, a new road,
freshly graded, and some underground facility. The satellite link- ups have
geo-synchronized microwave dishes pointing straight up. There are
approximately 8 to 10 dishes on the tower, which is not shown on any FAA
map.

The facility in the Napa hills is heavily fortified and protected with
thick concrete. Its microwave tower is pointed toward Santa Rosa, where
AT&T has secure communications links. The microwave dishes are to guarantee
government officials with direct access to national communication links.
The government has always relied on AT&T for those links.

I don't think I'd be at ground zero, but I am definitely in the fallout region. They would hit D.C. and I'd get the fallout from that. I'm also kind of close to an Army base that would most likely be hit. But prevailing winds would take that fallout away from my area.

The city where I live was a nuclear target during the cold war.

I remember reading the local news paper when the files had been released by Russia.

Not to sure now though, but then there may still be a missile aimed this way.

Oh great!
Not only do I probably live in a first(ish) strike area... I also live in one of the most dangerous and 'hazard rich' citys in the UK

The ground-breaking emergency notification system, called Informer, is being brought in because the dockyard's siren is not seen as an adequate 21st-century way of warning people living in what has been described as one of the most dangerous areas in Britain.

In addition to the dockyard's nuclear facilities, Britain's 14th largest city has a Royal Navy weapons depot, a petrol terminal at Cattedown, a fuel depot at Torpoint and a gas pipeline.

Giles Perritt, Plymouth City Council's head of continuous improvement, described the city as "hazard-rich".
link (emphasis mine)

woo hoo yay! I'm quite likely to die in a mass accident
... And I live under a flight path.

I live in San Diego, Ca. and I figure it to be in the top 40 hit list for sure. Between 2 naval bases, nuke subs and the Marines at Miramar and Camp Pendleton I thinking I'm as close ground zero as you can get.

It's kind of like when I was in the Air Force and I asked my Tech. Sargeant how long did we have if the flag went up and his answer was that we had time for a "smoke and a coke"! There is no running if they call my number.

I live in England and its targetted by both the Ruskies and the Americans, Read Duncan campbells book WAR LAWS. Any nation daft enough to host USAF radar or EWS systems, or star wars missile system units is going to get hammered. its Russia and America doing what they always do, fight their wars by proxy. though I did read an article years ago that said the UKs nuclear sub boats could (and probably would)target both the US and USSR just as easily.

Hi everyone.

I did a search on this topic and couldnt really find a similar one. (if there is one i am sure the Mod's will let me know
)

I live in Townsville (Queensland, Australia). We have a large Army base (1 battalion stationed here...soon to be 2) as well as an Airforce base.

I figure that in the event of a nuclear conflict, Townville would definately be a primary Australian target.

Its a cheery thought!

Anyone else sitting on a possible "ground zero?"

Everyone.

I live within an hour direct of NYC, maybe a lot less in a straight line. I also live maybe half an hour from Indian Point, which is a nuclear energy place. I'd say I have a slight chance of being hit.
