the 17th will pass without incident for most of the world it will be something more personal if anything does happen. i thought you where an old friend from another board. i have heard voices too but im not schitzo. 10 is the number of man 7 is the number of spirits of god [knowledge, power, understanding, fear, lord, knowledge, counsel]. the 17th is a very signifigant number.

oh ok, gotcha. Yeah, i felt it was personal at first. The voice this time sounded ....different though. I don't want to say that it sounded evil per se...but it had a not nice quality to it

It appears there are many people that hear voices and some psychologists suggest that as many as 1 in 25 people regularly hear voices.

It could be that in the same way that most people are visual based in their thinking others maybe are auditory based. I don't mean visual or auditory memory but rather actual thinking processes. For example a visual person may think through a mechanical problem in his car by visually working through taking apart an engine before he commences while an auditory will have a discourse with himself.

When there is a seemingly insurmountable problem, a visionary person may have sudden flashes of envisioned solutions and an auditory person may similarly have sudden flashes of heard voice solutions.

So it seem to me some one mulling a problem may push it to their subconscious mind for processing only to find it to pop out un-expectantly startling the individual. Because we are culturally trained to accept visual minds while auditory minds are associated with mental illnesses.

Interesting thought but i am definitely VERY visual. I often have trouble expressing in words what goes on in my head

Latin voices, you should presume came from your church memories more than likely. I recall many times falling asleep during sermons.

What I've recalled were a voice in my head that was female who also claimed to be my guardian angel. Mostly all of these were quickly forgotten until they started coming back to me around 9/11.

Some threads mention mind control programs such as MK ultra. My father took me to an Air Force base at least once in Ohio. Delusions, false implanted memories etc. And realizing these could be some conpiracy type of program suggests a 'twisted' reality in some way.

The point is to relaxe and think things through. I still have trust issues with most people and haven't any interest in going back to work with control freaks and a**holes anymore. They're everywhere man!

I haven't been to church since 1993. And from my recollection they never spoke Latin. I'm not even sure why i got the feeling that the voices were latin since i don't think i've ever heard more than a few words of it

i remember a week before 9/11 i was sitting in my living room reading with the tv and radio off and my dad was asleep on the sofa,
and i heared women screaming, but the strange thing was the voices sounded like they were coming from the left of me which was a brick wall, but i thought maybe someone was being attacked outside so woke my dad up and we raced out side but couldnt find anything.

its never happened since but i can still remeber this one occassion

Scientists believe that the corpus collassum - the space that divides the two hemispheres of the human brain has become thicker and that in the past far more people heard voices and believed them to be coming from something outside themselves than do now. There was a lot of research and conjecture about it some fifteen years ago.

I'm glad to read of so many experiences like this on here. I awoke sporadically two days ago to a mans voice seemingly coming from a foot or two to my right, all that he said was a name. I was thinking "who the h!@# is that?, I don't know anyone by that name..." I looked around for the source of the strange voice still ringing in my ear, turned over and went back to sleep for another hour or two.

I was going to chalk it up to a dream but I realized at the time that it was a distinctly deep and strange mans voice that I could not place with any I'd ever heard and that the name I'd heard him say, though a mans name, was rather 'old school'. Not that it was from the olden days, but no one I'd ever met went by that name. Thanks to being half conscious right after waking, I cannot recall it any more. I had the gut feeling afterward that it may have been his name, but I could be wrong.

I've never had something like this happen so it's still bothering me a bit. I've had no auditory hallucinations in my life that I can think of. Of the few dreams in my life that I could even recall, none have ever come close to affecting my perceptions or coming through after I've woken. One of the spirits that passed through my home a good year ago would mumble and murmur in an unintelligible whisper as I would try to fall asleep but that ended after a few weeks.

Enough rambling, I'm just really glad to read that a lot of people have experiences like this, though they really seem to center on spirits or mischievous things calling that individuals own name. My sister's experienced the same thing at school, hearing her name called from a foot or two behind her, turning around in her seat and realizing she was in the last row.
