It was refreshing, for once to see someone fight back against the BS that was spewed upon her from both sides.

Kids in PJ's, I'm sure that was the more mild version of what she actually wanted to say.

The media spread hearsay, and so many people bought it, it's almost laughable. Out of all the potential P's and VP's, she deserved the least of the attacks. Pretty obvious MSM wants to squash her like a bug before people realize that she'll eventually be a force to be reckoned with.

Looks like Huffpost is a little pissed now..good.

Because Sarah Palin is not VP any more, does that mean she will write steamy hot! romantic blogs?

That's also a very viable theory as to why she played as dumb as she did as well, McCain is the type of guy who would... Take one for his party,

Near retirement, nothing to loose and certainly almost being president is not a bad way to end a career even if you loose, the guys a patriot... maybe the Republicans did know from the get go that they were going to loose because of Bush, no matter what.

Not a bad theory either.

No matter what though Palins one slip up to me, was playing too dumb... it shows, it's obvious to em it was intent, people love to lambaste a person in the Media, makes us feel better about ourselves...

But there is no way she is as stupid as she played, she exhibited an impossible level of Dumb.

This interview was more of the real Palin, love her or leave her, she's no dope and like this comment or not...

I'm still in my pajamas

I want to TRY and give the members of ATS a *mental image* of Sarah Palin helping John McCain to put on his pajamas.

Getting back OnTopic... What are we blogging about?

She wasn't talking about me. The only time I've warn pajamas in my life was when I was in the hospital. Pajamas are not natural and neither is Palin.

[Psst..]She was referring to you as well.[/Psst]

Regardless of the actuality of our persons, Palin was voicing a connotative reference that is inherently negative and will be interpreted by many of the older generation conservativesas a valid point...it's a cheap rhetorical trick and arguably malicious in nature as it tends to support the partisan crap that makes politics such a freaking mess, along with the fact that there are many people -ahem- whom will take it seriously despite the fact that she lacks the omniscence to make such an observation.

By making such a statement, however, she has sunk to 'our level'...and her comment kind of relegates her to the same status.

Could be a cheap swipe at the 'youth vote' that brought Obama into power ? sure sounds like one. It also seems like it is designed to further the partisan cause that you refer to. I mean, this is the sort of thing which highlights the glaring differences between the youth vote and the older conservative vote - and once differences are brought to the forefront then Obama is no longer the great Uniter but has to contend with trying to please different demographics and appeal to different political idealogies - the sort of challenges faced by normal everyday politicians. A sort of 'divide and conquer' strategy.

You really took offense to that one?

I just honestly thought it was funny because, lol, I happened to be sitting here in a pair of old ninja pants and a t-shirt, smoking butts and eating Brie and crackers (not attractive picture I know, but hey I can afford decent cheese at least) and I make my living on the net...

I just took it as "hey there are allot of people on the net and... some of them are really weird" and, it's true lol

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic medium for writers who want to earn a few bucks and get in the daily diary practice thing...

But all I think she was saying is... how can I even begin to address Bloggers given the sheer number that genuinely are not very professional?

The more i think about it, the more the Jed Bush - Sarah Palin ticket seems to make sense. It sounds like a lot of people agree that Palin isn't as ditzy as she makes herself out to be.

I like her. I've stated that many times in other threads. I know many of you get your rocks off by insulting the woman and that's fine. She won't be going away...this i guarantee you. Seems like most everyone in the government seems to dislike her...and i LOVE that. She has 4 years to study up on what she needs to know to make SOME people more receptive to her.

2012? Dunno...but she will be a voice in the political establishment for years to come.

For the most part it seems that a majority of the posters on ATS dislike her for whatever reason...and i'm stating that by what i see on threads.

I've never seen such hate for a woman in my life. Why don't you guys bash on Pelosi for awhile? Here's a woman you can bash that is actually making laws that you have to deal with including bailouts.

I actually think some of you enjoy trashing Palin. Am i right or wrong?

She isn't as dumb as she was made out to be, even made out to be by herself. I'm sure we have not heard the last of her. If that is for the better or worse, we'll just have to see how things play out in the next few years.

As far as the "kids in pajama's" comments....

Of course, not all bloggers attacked her. But, there were a good number that did. Not only her, but her family and kids as well. She's human, so its only natural she be hurt, angered and frustrated by that. To think that she wouldn't be, or shouldn't be would be to deny her to be human.

How many bloggers could let similar attacks on themselves go unanswered?

Would it make the offended bloggers feel better if she singled out the names of the specific bloggers she's referring to?

Maybe she thought that those who did not make way out accusations for months would realize she likely didn't mean them and was just expressing her hurt and anger in general?

Maybe some of the ones that are offended can dish it out really well, but have trouble taking even a tiny bit of it when its aimed at them?

She actually let them off pretty lightly considering some of the things said about her.

Not so much offense as I found that her comment is/will be outdated.

We the people and all that rot finally have a voice that we can use every day. We no longer have to be satisfied with the fact that our leaders have one sided (and demonstrated to be fixed) debates and rhetoric.

We analyze now like no other time in history. Her comment is obsolete in that it denigrates the interent as a valid medium to collaborate. Her comment is bourne of a "20-20" or "60 minutes" audience.

So yeah, no offense, just a critical view on her perception and expression.

And I am wearing my 'jammies'...

It doesn't mean that my opinion doesn't matter. If it didn't, then why would she care so much about my vote, you know?

That I give out entirely in agreement with, a big disappointment in Regards to Palin is that for such a young woman, her Net Kung Fu is very weak.

2 things in regards to the Net

A: Economic stimulus and the ability to work from home, save gas, have a better quality of life, work a small business into overseas money

Hugely disappointed that all our politicians are focused on, traditional job creation and big corporate bailouts when we have this tool and... it gets ZERO recognition in the role it could play in this crisis for America

B: True Democracy and Internet voting

I would have thought given her age and being a mom, she'd be a little at least past... using a Yahoo e-mail

I guess your right in that, it is sort of a statement that could be taken as a non recognition of the potential of the net, although I don't think she intended that meaning

But yeah, Palin as much as the rest lacks any idea of how to handle the net and I think it is Imperative to both the Economy and to Democracy that it is utilized

I agree 1000%.

The net is a new medium and will continue to integrate itself within the lives of everyone...much like radio and telvision.

Her discarding of people's opinions and the use of such an oppurtunity is irresponsible from a person in her position...as my opinion has determined...

Camille Paglia of Salon did a great job of calling out the Palin Bashers.
A much better job than I could have done.

With sarcasm

How dare Palin not embrace abortion as the ultimate civilized ideal of modern culture? How tacky that she speaks in a vivacious regional accent indistinguishable from that of Western Canada! How risible that she graduated from the State University of Idaho and not one of those plush, pampered commodes of received opinion whose graduates, in their rush to believe the worst about her, have demonstrated that, when it comes to sifting evidence, they don't know their asses from their elbows.

On the gleefulness of some Democrats accepting garbage as truth:

Liberal Democrats are going to wake up from their sadomasochistic, anti-Palin orgy with a very big hangover. The evil genie released during this sorry episode will not so easily go back into its bottle. A shocking level of irrational emotionalism and at times infantile rage was exposed at the heart of current Democratic ideology -- contradicting Democratic core principles of compassion, tolerance and independent thought. One would have to look back to the Eisenhower 1950s for parallels to this grotesque lock-step parade of bourgeois provincialism, shallow groupthink and blind prejudice.

There whole article is here:
www.salon.com...

Good for Camille!

You know what, we just might be seeing a start of a movement (per se) questioning too harsh a criticism of Palin. Now that the dust has settled and the election results have sunk in, the collective voice of the 46% of American's who voted for the McCain camp seems to be unifying.

I can't say its a bad thing - it may just force the media to encourage a more balanced coverage/criticism of both sides of politics.

Here's my question...
If Palin was playing stupid during the campaign; why hasn't she dropped that tactic now that the campaign is over and show us her real
talent and intelligence. To me she seems the same hateful and mean woman,
not even taking a small piece of the responsibility for loosing the race.
The Blame game is obsolete and is destined to obscurity just like Sarah.

And as far as being a blogger sitting around in my PJ's; I'm a mature gentleman sitting around in a very skimpy pair of Calvin Kline's, a beautiful silk robe, drinking expresso, brought by
my girl friend that is wearing nothing at all except for a pair of Tony Lama cowboy boots.
