Palin Calls Bloggers "Kids in Pajamas"

www.huffingtonpost.com

In Sarah Palin's interview with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren this evening, she referred to bloggers as "kids in pajamas sitting in the basement of their parents' homes" spewing out mean and inaccurate things about her.Well, I am no kid, I am definitely not wearing pajames and I am living in my own house, thank you! And I am seriously depressed about the prospect of this person having a political future.

In the course of the interview with Greta Van Susteren, a softball thrown with great affection by Fox, Palin manages to rebut all the attacks on her without ever providing much, if any, facts to support her position.

Hmmm... i wonder why McCain referred to Palin as the future of the Party in his speech whilst conceding the election.

The strange thing is that she has already forgotten the efforts of one young blogger who was heralded for kick starting the 'Draft Palin for VP' movement. I think the link to the site is: palinforvp.blogspot.com...

I wonder what he thinks about all this furor????

Now I have to keep hearing her for the next 2 1/2 years, and then some.

Ugh.

Any comment made is not intended by most people as a statement to cover EVERY situation.

If your going to take every word literally like that pc will and already has eliminated all but the most fake and controlled people from representing us.

I am sure Palin did not mean that response to offend the guy who happened to help her, I am also sure, he is aware that his efforts would be appreciated by her.

With that said, allot of Bloggers are Kids in Pajamas...

I'm not a kid, but i'm in my pajamas right now and... aside from making some money on the net, I'm far from a responsible human being in many ways and have a tendency to fly of the handle and say whatever first comes to mind... I'm not a professional journalist in that aspect nor a guy who should run for office.

I'd put 90% of bloggers on the net... as more ridiculous by far then myself many blatantly dumb.

So I take no offense at the comment, there is, a bit of reality to it for me and allot of reality for many and it's dead on for plenty of bloggers.

So, I just fail to see what she said wrong

People make blanket statements all the time, I know when they actually apply to me, because, unless I need something or have a motive, I'm an honest person, particularly to myself... criticism when it's true doesn't bother me, and I can take myself out of the emotional end of a situation and know the CONTEXT of what a person is saying and whom it is intended for and where I fit in the spectrum.

So... I blog, and, she would be slightly correct to a degree in regards to me and majorly correct in regards to others and... I'm not insulted at all.

I wonder if the Republicans will ever take personal responsibility for their
loss in the Presidential race as well as the House and Senate.

Especially since they claim to be the party of personal responsibility.

Sen. McCain is showing some real class while Sarah Palin can't seem to
drop the mean spirited, divisive, campaign tactic that lost the GOP the
election and perhaps doom herself to political obscurity.
But keep the name calling up Sarah; it worked well for you didn't it?

A good plan for Sarah P would be for her to follow McCain's lead.

Remember Spiro Agnew? I didn't think so.

i understand where you are coming from and do concede that there have been a number of very nasty attacks on Palin. Normally i would agree with you and defend the woman. The problem here is that this lady was so close to being the Vice President of the United States of America. A country which has a proud history and has always tried to better the world. In doing so, it has now become a country where its President (and also its VP) is in a way considered to be the President of the World. Whether American's agree with this or not, the plain fact is that the rest of the globe looks at this country's politician's for leadership.

Considering all this, Palin has time and time again demonstrated a lack of tact when issuing 'blanket' statements. Compare her interviews with other Vice President's such as Dan Quayle, Al Gore, Dick Cheney... and it is painfully obvious that she lacks the thoughtful moderation that a public persona of such stature requires.

If one is to argue that she is a woman and her communication style for that reason alone is strikingly different to the previous VP's then lets look overseas to some female politician's of recent times. The main ones which come to my mind are Margaret Thatcher, Hillary Clinton, Helen Clarke, and Julie Bishop - Looking at any of the above will highlight the glaring omissions from Palin's skill set.

Sure, she did energize the public but her 'blanket' statements of the past (and for that matter current ones) did nothing to inspire confidence in the ability of the McCain-Palin ticket to govern effectively.

my two cents worth...

This is actually pretty flattering. Most bloggers are really long in the tooth, but she is probably right about them wearing pajamas. She has made many bloggers feel youthful.

Yeah, and now she isn't running for anything

Listen to her atm aside from really searching for the politically incorrect speak...which I think will be her trade mark

It's obvious she feigned her stupidity level... there was some major divide in the McCain Camp....

My Theory is... she was gravely insulted and McCains people tried to dumb her down so being a barracuda, she flat out was a B and gave them what they requested in a way they didn't like.

But it's obvious in a week, like the way she talks or brashness etc or not...

she's not nearly as dumb as she made herself to be and something major went on there in that campaign.

Don't know what to thin of her at this point

But i'm thinking she is going to be an interesting person to watch and i'm thinking she's more crafty than anyone knows...

don't hate the lady is all,

and the particular comment, it's just lol... sort of true

Love her or hate her... I do hope she keeps up saying it like she feels, it beats the heck out of listening to , even in here people debate traditional politics as dictated to them as if law...

Mopus makes good points.
She did make it to the Governors chair as well.
I'm no kid. I work a regular job and have my own house - no basement. But I like to blog in my boxers.

Well golly gee darn it. She's finally right about something.

I am, in fact, currently blogging in my pajamas.

Unfortunately, her remote viewing must be way off, because I am neither a kid, nor in a basement.

You are quite correct in the fact Mrs.Palin dumbed herself down.
I live in the small town she came from. I have friends who went to school with her and their children go to the same schools her kids did/do.

She is actually quite intellegent and well versed in many areas.
She became very aggitated when people started attacking her children (verbally)
You show me one person with teens that controls their every movement and I'll give you...Hitler all over again,or Jim Jones for that matter.

While she may not be popular with everyone, I'll admit she really did do alot for us up here in Alaksa. And that is coming from a person who didn't vote for her!

Lol - I agree completely. She needs to have brains to be get as far as she did in politics. What really struck me as odd was the so very out of the way endorsement McCain gave to Palin in his concession speech after the election. I mean it was so out of the way that it stood out Glaringly .... "Palin is the future of our Party" (or something to that effect) whilst she gushes at the camera and batted her eye lashes. It was pure cringe factor.

I have always held the opinion that nothing in Politics just happens. It is planned and pre-determined and that afore mentioned statement from McCain was no exception .

I wonder if the whole economic collapse meant that the current government was keen to hand over the reigns to the Obama representing the far left politicial ideology. Once the country goes through a tumultous time, they figure the citizens will be crying for the republicans to come back into power (after the economic crises has been subdued) and usher in a Far Right view on things - the sort of ideology which would fit like a glove under a potential Jed Bush - Palin ticket.

... the conspiracy of it all!!!

In Sarah Palin's interview with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren this evening, she referred to bloggers as "kids in pajamas sitting in the basement of their parents' homes" -snip-

Yeah...I can't wait for someone to try and sell that when user interactive news replaces the major television networks as the main source for news.

No wonder she didn't make it to office...she doesn't respect her audience.

And wasn't she the one participating in the partisan mudslinging when she accused Obama of hanging with terrorists?

Yeah...this pajama wearing (at least in a few minutes...
) non basement living guy with a 40 hour a week job and concerns that make some peoples lives look like a perpetual Sunday afternoon picnic has an opinion...one that wasn't served up rudely through a one way mirror.

Palin is the one who needs to grow up, in this bloggers opinion...

[Psst..]She was referring to you as well.[/Psst]

Regardless of the actuality of our persons, Palin was voicing a connotative reference that is inherently negative and will be interpreted by many of the older generation conservativesas a valid point...it's a cheap rhetorical trick and arguably malicious in nature as it tends to support the partisan crap that makes politics such a freaking mess, along with the fact that there are many people -ahem- whom will take it seriously despite the fact that she lacks the omniscence to make such an observation.

By making such a statement, however, she has sunk to 'our level'...and her comment kind of relegates her to the same status.
