I tend to think it would be an interesting experiment...one of the major problems I see is that the "Blue" states happen to have greater incomes
than the "Red" states...so what I predict would happen is that the "Red" states would fall into complete and utter poverty, because, hell, what
are they for? Low taxes, not wasting money on "liberal" things, like welfare, social security, public education, infrastructure, etc. Everyone
would be left to fend for themselves, because that’s what good Conservatives do, pull themselves up from their boot-straps, or rely on the
generosity of their church, who would have taken control of the education system...
Meanwhile in the "Blue" states, you'd still have the division between the corporate-class and the rest of society...but at least you'd probably
have more left-wing politicians in power attempting to put things in place, such as environmental legislation, anti-monopoly policies, socialized
healthcare, etc...until the corporations get them on side, because after all, there would be fewer to pay off...
THEN, at some point and time, the Red States would try a land grab against the Blue States, because, after all, they have God and Guns on their
side...two things which those Secular, Atheist, Liberal Commie Blue States don't have on their side.
Clearly, I've though about this far too much....its a fun game though...

In all seriousness though...I do think that another level of governance, creating more regional autonomy, could be useful, because America is
very divided.
