It could get ugly all things considered, but your also dealing with a species that has by the genome come down to a very small number like 20 of us multiple times and rebounded.

There's no accounting for genes, 6 Billion to me is allot it would take a multiple of factors to get us all... a complete covering of the Earth in High amounts of multiple poisons... and still there would be some creeps that have the ability to hide underground for decades

I myself... for some reason never get sick...

Hard to explain that, but I haven't had to go to a doctor in 20 years aside from routine exams

and this is, in this world of poison, I take care of myself and attribute alot of that to something as simple as...regular use of a dry sauna

but still

My son got mrsa and I touched it through the course of it and...never bothered to wash my hands and... Methacillin resistant staff... never could get a hold on me...

and std's... I slept around allot when younger and it's not like it was never with the infected in one form or another... (found out later) but nada, nothing not even a positive on a western blot for antibodies which... in all reality is weird

I never, got anything, ever

My Grandpa was just like me

Died at 97, in his sleep... never a cold as long as I knew him

He had no special diet or anything... just lived, liked a nice cigar and a scotch too...

so I don't disagree with you,

I just don't see a threat to the human race

Civilization as many people died from a bad disease or plague...maybe

but not as a species

Well aside from my previous suggestion of women marrying into my hubby's family tree, we could try getting women to marry and have kids earlier in life. But then it would cause some to cry sexism if they were told to have kids sooner to increase the chances of males being born. I'm sure some would see it as an attempt to get women back in the kitchen and out of the workplace, so that wouldn't work... I'm sure I will have a brilliant idea just as I fall asleep, and then instantly forget it of course, but as of now I'm coming up blank..

many women would love it - the chance to have a family early? a lot of women just get a job till they can afford a house and then they want to start a family.

many women at my work are workign till thye can get a house and get enough of it paid off so they can afford to quit their job so they can have a baby

you were wiser than i was

I got married early but the asshole kept trying to get a job and never managed to be in a job long enough

we were always finacially strapped and always as soon as he got a job we have to catch up and then he would be out of a job again and in the meantime my clock kept ticking and ticking

if he was not so sincere i would have cought on earlier and dumped him earlier

I was the bread winner and there was no way to quit my job to have a baby and now I have left it too long

assshole

Things that haven’t been mentioned:

1. It's a financial suicide for a male to marry/sign the dotted line at this day and age, with all the bias towards them in courts/etc. if things go sour in a marriage. This is why no man in his right mind would marry before he’s way in his 40s, and even then he doesn’t have to get married. (What’s the point?)

2. In their 20s-30s girls don’t tend to go for nice guys; i recall it as "The guy has to be funny, dangerous and adventurous" time.

3. With TV/Movie current "kick them below the belt, its funny" theme, no wonder there are only a few functioning males left. To date, i havent known a a guy who hasn't been assaulted by his GF/wife down there in some way.

True, but then again look at what happened to the dinosaurs. They once ruled the earth as well and they were all wiped out. So it is conceivable that a natural disaster or a virus could potentially wipe out all of humanity.

Trade you immune systems! I've been sick for over a week and a half now and now my hubby is starting to think I'm the outbreak monkey since I've gotten the rest of the family sick.

That is something I have always been interested in. Older generations didn't grow up worrying about fat and calorie intakes, or the risks of smoking or drinking, and most that I have known grew up eating fried foods made with lard. (Southern and South-Eastern Kentucky families. Literally from the mountains of Kentucky. So the choice of lard to cook with may have been a cultural thing from there. Not too sure.) And they all lived long, happy, healthy lives. Yet nowadays we have some who spend every minute of the day worrying about fat, calories, and cancer and they don't live as long as the older generations did, well some of the older generation anyway. Rather odd I think.

That's something I had to explain to my husband numerous times before we got pregnant with the youngest. If you wait until you have the money, or the bigger house, or whatever, to have children you'll never have them. While money is important, can't live without it really, and having the means to support those children is important, money isn't everything. We weren't really too sure we'd be able to support both the kids if I quit working but once we looked at how much day care and gas to get there alone would have cost, and added up all the numbers for everything we realized we didn't really lose much by me staying home. Actually we saved money compared to what it would have cost for two in day care. (Day care is ridiculously expensive for a new born!)

I don't think the declining number of the male population on Earth is an issue to be worried about. There is a balance in nature. I remember I've read some time ago that in times of a war, there are more male babies born. Now that the largest part of the world lives in peace could be one of the reasons more females are born. As for the chemicals in foods/drinks/air/clothes, they don't only harm man's reproduction, but woman's too!

or nature just needs more females right now.

It always evens out. Though i find it hard to believe the male population is declining because everyone I know, except one, has had a boy, including myself.

I think the main reason for this is that everyone is waiting till their thirties and forties to have children. I believe that the younger a male father is, the more likely he is to have a boy.

I totally agree, I've made similar posts to you, we think alike. That guy who made a comment is the typical comment many people have, they act like the world is never going to change!? lol.

The world is always changing, wether we like it or not, talking about present day technology a 100 years ago would also get you a few comments like that haha.

In my opinion the world is changing at the fastest rate ever. And computers? Computers as you know it now is just the beginning! The evolution of computers and technology will amaze us, the future is now.

A future I would like to experience and learn.

You are right, women are needed more than men for the survival of mankind. In human survival situations more females than men can help produce more future human generations for the survival of mankind.

If it was the other way around with just 1 woman and 10 men, then god help us.

Could it be that we are programmed specifically for jobs enlisted to us by a greater power then?

Our friend Jenna says her husbands family has been all boys, could this mean they are a family meant to be warriors or soldiers later on? Or were soldiers/warriors in the past?

Maybe the decrease in male births would indicate that we need something more to survive other than war and violence.

What if we truly do work as a collective unconscious, our bodies, our genes, everything about us works with the benefit of mankind in mind? (there are always exceptions!!)

I know I'm definitely reading too much into it, but hey it's an interesting thought.

What part of the world do you come from? I'm a 26 year old male, recently married. I have yet to meet a single woman under 30 that wants children. Attitudes towards early marriage and early family life are certainly changing. My wife and I were together for 4 1/2 years before we got married. Heck I at least entertain the thought that I might want to have a child some day, my wife on the other hand, is absolutely repulsed by the idea of children. She'd get her tubes tied if they would do it for her. With the financial position that having a family can put you in, it's understandable to me why a lot of people don't want that. Kids are expensive. Makes sense to me why a lot of people want to wait, do you think you're going to be more financially stable at 22 or at 32?

I believe some of the males on here just don't understand. You can't have one or several men repopulate and here are some of the reasons why

1.There won't be diversity, which will increase dramatically chances of dying. Because our immune system would be weaker... see where i am getting at? Old or weak diseases would become fatal most likely. This is why humans have lived so long to date. Its because our diversity and uniqueness. When one person immune system can fight something off, when maybe the other's immune system cannot.

2.Who would your children mate with?

3. Also like to add, that males sperm counts are cut in half each decade research shows.

This is only a problem currently, since modern day society as exploded and uses all these different kind of chemicals and all. Of course there will still be boys... But slowly but surely decreasing.

FYI: this isn't only for the human race, but also for all species that are males.

damn, what is up with youtube? I watched the first two vids - tried to watch the third part and now it's saying it's not available in my country. wtf?

Can't even watch the first two that I already watched... have even tried through proxies. If anyone has any luck do you mind mentioning what country you're viewing it from?

Thanks
