Well in my eyes, I had respect for Bush as President until 2003.

Maybe I just have the ability to give the benefit of the doubt to the candidate I didn't vote for than others do.

I'm not an extremist like others.

Extremism fosters Terrorism.

The problem is that Bush lost his respect. I have it on full faith that the problems we are facing now were looming before Bush took office (now if many of them were of his own father's making is another issue that cannot be evaluated until some action is taken beforehand) but he lost his due respect when he didn't correct the problems.

Every President has the obligation to GOD HIMSELF (however that candidate views god) to defend the constitution of this great nation. At the point that Bush went along with the agenda, I don't know. But I CAN tell you this, our constitution is regarded as a God Damned Piece of Paper and nothing more. His actions have reflected this sentiment.

As for as Obama, well, aside from this legal issue he can sum up with a simple admission of his certificate of birth, he hasn't disregarded anything with the consitution, that I can think of. Therefore, he has a clean slate.

I will respect Obama's position and oppose Bush's. Sorry if you don't see it that way.

The reply button wasn't working. That was in reply to RX83GP02

I also think it ironic that the Obama retractors find it necessary to quote a preacher's sermon when he says "god damn america" and not mention the exact same words coming from the horse's mouth itself.

I understand his post at Harvard. That is beside the point. As of today, he has done nothing to warrant my disrespect - period.

I'll give Obama the same, identical respect that Bush was given.

Bumping because this has come up on another thread ...

Do you respect Obama because he's 'in the office' ....
Or do you not respect him because he's a corrupt liar ????
