November 4th 2008 marks the dawn of a new day. Gone will be the days where hard work actually means something in order to prosper in the world. Gone are the days where family matters. Welcome to the economic enslavement of the entire nation. No longer will you benefit from succeeding in business or work. No longer will you need to worry about paying for your electric bills or gas bills. Why? Because you wont be able to much longer. Obama told us that under his plans the cost of electricity would 'necessarily" skyrocket. Under his plan if I succeed and become successful I will be punished by higher tax rates. Gone is the American dream. I am rightfully upset. I am a single father raising two children without any help from their mother (financially or otherwise) and I take NO government assistance to do it. I worked 60 hour work weeks while going to school full time in the evenings while my children were toddlers giving up precious time with them in order to earn my college degree so that I could make more and provide more for them. But now, when Obama removes the Bush tax cuts, my taxes will increase, when Obama orders that the Power Plants pay a ridiculous carbon tax for burning coal, my Electricity costs will skyrocket... Now, when Obama stops us from drilling for more oil my fuel costs will skyrocket.. When is enough enough? Where is the point where Obama comes out and says that they will take 100% of my salary and provide me with what "I need" to survive? Myself, my father/grandfather/greatgrandfather etc all served in the military with pride to protect my and your freedoms from socialsm and now I get to explain to my children just why is it that we allowed socialism/communism to win. ANd the sad thing about it all is that they were right.. Because America allowed itself to be bribed with our own money, money that the government shouldnt have in the first place, we vote our freedoms away just for a damn handout..

So, as the title suggests... Welcome to the United Socialist States of America. God help me, I pray that I am wrong and things will not get as bad as I forsee.. But when everything I was taught about freedom and what this Republic stands for is going to be flushed down the toilet, it makes me mad. But most of all, it makes me extremely sad.. Just how is it that I am going to explain it to my children how we allowed this wonderful country to slip away from us.

We have only to blame one man and his crew of fascist for leading us down this road towards socialism. Thank Bush and his band of merry Neocons for our problems...

The republicans need to purge ALL the NEOCONS from the conservative party and send them BACK TO THE DEMOCRATS, where they belong. Let this loss be a lesson to all the SO-CALLED "Conservatives" who support this type of BIG-GOVERNMENT conservatism.

TODAY is going to be a painful lesson indeed, for all of us!

Well, thank you for your welcome!

And congratulations and well wishes from myself for the decision your fellow citizens have made today!

And uh, the Republicans nationalized the banking system, the bad mortgages, and Fannie and Freddie, so America was already socialized long before today.

Now Obama will spread the wealth, and not just to the corporate elite.

Wait and see, you might actually get some of it yourself.

You men give my heart deep thoughts as we are at the epoch of a fearful epic event. These coming four years will go down in history as our constitution will dwindle and our flag will fade. call me a fascist, call me what you will, but when our country will vote for a man that will not give a pledge of allegiance to our American flag or willingly wear an American flag pin etc, we are in deep trouble..............May God help us all .

The Republicans did? I think you need to go back and look to see who was involved in this entire mess.

Nope my friend, what we are going to have is CAPITAL FLIGHT...

What does that mean? It means that those that have money to invest will just take their toys away, and leave us to wallow further into poverty. Instead of investments which create jobs, we are going to have divestment and loss of jobs....

Nope...I see some bad times ahead..

From what I can tell, the Republicans were big on deregulation.

The deregulated market led to this meltdown, and it happened under the 8 year watch of Bush, so who exactly else can you blame.

What pisses me off is what propelled him to the win:

1.) Race - They are still talking about race on Fox News. It was so hard for him, and blah blah blah. 96% of black people in Virginia voted for him. I bet you my soul that the majority voted for him only because he is black. And I am sure the numbers are the same around the country.

2.) Entitlements - In the age of the younger crowd and their need to have everything handed to them without working for it . . . Obama promised them free money for nothing, and he gets the 18-24 vote.

Sad and pathetic, really.

Even worse, they are getting ready for another 9/11 false-flag style operation. The best thing we can do is get our people to start buying cameras and vid-cams and keeping them charged and ready.

We need to document the next false flag from every possible angle.....

Pay more attention to the House and Senate please. They play a part in our politics. Bailout = majority Democrats. Deregulation, started under the guise of promising houses to everyone by none other than Clinton. Bush is not the be all end all of our economy and politics. Not that I am defending him. I'm just tired of the nonsense around me that we will suddenly be ok because Dems are in control.

wow i cant get over how negative you all are, when in truth just have a good long look at the mess gw has got the whole world in so maybe it might be a good idea to see if this man makes a positive change to this world, personally i feel its about time that the men at the top started looking at the whole world, not just your back yard, we in the west have far more than many other parts of the world & maybe its time to re address the balance peace & empowerment for all, that way the old ways that failed may be changed forever lets hope so.after all jfk wanted to make a real difference but they took him out lets hope Obama gets to make the real changes he can for see, maybe its time to stop thinking about ourselves only this world has enough for everyone if those who have too much make a few concessions, now is the time to create unity not division.the young can see it all to well enough is enough lets make a better future, i just hope that the shadow govt lets him make those changes & do not try to test his resolve as jfk was, we need to say this world must change for the good of all people.don't you think really?

To borrow a phrase from the conservative talking points manual....

"America, Love it or Leave it"

God Bless America

The people have spoken!! What is it about a DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC that you don't understand?

It's a sad sad day for America. I just hope what ever is about to happen is quick so the people of the United States don't suffer too much and we can all find out if there is a heaven / hell or other dimension.

I am so depressed now. I would drown my sorrows in chocolate, but it has been tainted by the Chinese.

I would expect to see a huge surge in illegals now that Obama is going to be giving free handouts.

this world has enough for everyone if those who have too much make a few concessions,

Sure... I've heard that somewhere before... Oh yea..

Wait I have another one when it comes to our welfare system as it currently stands....
