Whats the story behind your Avatar and your profile name?...... I see so many cool avatars and names people give for themselves that I would like to know the story behind it all............

Well as for me its a no brain er.... I have been a fan of Einstein for all my life, though I may not agree with all his views and philosophies, his physics back ground is what amazes me the most and has intrigued my interest even to this day......... Now as for my profile name rikk7111, That has been my net name for as long as I've been online....of course Ricky is my name and someone had that so I just added numbers till I found one that no one was using ...lol..Well that's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Well.. I tend to use a few different Avatars. Since I have joined here to interact with others of the same interest mine are based on Conspiracy, New Age or UFO/ET/Alien images.
My screen name is simply my own name D (for Doug) Hunter.

Great idea for a thread. Maybe it will create curiosity amongst the members to hear the Avatar/Screen-name stories.

well my name is Barathrum because i decided to use a different name than what i normally use. at first i was going to use one of my default names i use in music production but then i thought i'd try something more descriptive to cover why i am here.

barathrum means abyss, void or insatiable person and i found that fitting since i absorb as much knowledge as i can.

the avatar that i'm using right now is my eye. i use it for two of my music projects, mostly because i don't have a camera now and can't make another picture for my other project lol

The Avatar is to win some points in the HalloweenAvatar Contest I didnt do to bad last year,and lernt the basics of PhotoShop doing so.

I think, i might of blown it this year as the only thing halloween about it is the date.

But:

If either winning entry is of a conspiracy theme, they will be rewarded with a bonus 5,000 BTS Points.

Last year it was 5,000 points if it had a UFO theme.

Illusionsaregrander is a statement of the truth as I see it, that what is "real" is often not exciting or grand enough for most of us, most of the time.

It also relates to the mystic vision of what we consider "real" being merely illusion.

Further, it is a play on the term, "Delusions of Grandeur." Mostly, to keep me on the straight and narrow.

The avatar is a fractal, which relates to my view of "All that is."

I selected that particular fractal because I am quite found of the blue and yellow color combination.

My original Avatar was a barcode...seemed to match my screen name. This new avatar is actually me as doctored by my BF.

Being justgeneric?? It's kind of tongue in cheek. Poking fun at myself for so desperately wanting to just be average and invisible but at the same time hoping it never happens Life on the fence I tell yah...it's brutally hard on the bum.

My Avatar was made by LoneGunman I told him I wanted something Indian (I am part Cherokee) with a horse in it ...I love horses (have never even had one) ...and I lived in Alaska and consider both the Indian and the Horse avatar as representing that wild off the land living I did most of my childhood ..Even though I never saw a horse in Alaska ever and it was too cold to wear what that lady in my Avatar is wearing . ...it is still similar to how Indians lived ....

The reason I made up this nickname is because I really do see myself as not that important in the world ...and I am really simple in my thinking (sort of like a child would see things wearing my rose colored glasses and all) ..so SimplyNoone popped into my head when I signed up here ...Especially since most of you are so smart (I read here for several years) I was scared that I wasnt intelligent enough to even post here ..I know most think I am really ignorant about a lot of things ..and I am ..especially since I was so sheltered in Alaska for so long ..But you need to know that what my homeschooling classes in Alaska consisted of was nothing but Encyclopedias and Dictionaries and a few math books we had to order from the states ....and Studying animals,fish,plants,berries,..whatever we could find was our Science ...then we had math and writing class consisted of me writing my poetry and short stories ... ...(it was alot of fun ) .....
And when I came to the states ..I jumped in with both feet to learn all that I could ..I try to read everything I can get my hands on ....and everything I can find on the internet ....I have also been around the states (moved alot ) and learned alot about life and people etc ever since I got here ..so I am ignorant ..but not about everything lol ....

My Avatar started out as Memory Shock's Avatar. Well after SD started his mind war on MS he stop using it. I asked if I could have it. So he u2u AshleyD who had made it and she made it for me. Then I tweaked it in Photoshop to match my username. I love unicorns and could not find a silver flame. IT was a black unicorn with a red glowing eye.

As to my username I love the color silver and I see everyone as a flame. We all have moments of great light and heat. I am just one flame of that fire. So I use the name silverflame to remind me I am just one flame of the great fire we call life.

ok when i first logged on i had to find a nick. usually i am not very creative about nick-names. but i hoped i find some light for me, got a bit enlighten by studying the subjects on ATS.
on the otherhand i am kind of obsesssed by watching lights. colorful lights, lights in the night, lights of a city. my dream is to be able to paint light.

orange was kinda easy, since orange is my favorite color - and voila orange-light was born.

my avatar is my halloween edition.
some orange-light is found in the cauldron.
i love animations.

my very first avatar was a lightbulb which i changed in photoshop to orange.
then i made an animation out of it, that lightbulb and the sunshine in LA alternating.

i think it is kind of fun to change the avatar from time to time, but something orange will always be in it!

My name kinglizard is a lyric in a song sung buy what was one of my favorite bands when I joined ATS 5 years ago....The Doors. They were my favorite growing up but now I've moved on. So it has nothing do do with some race of lizard like aliens, I didn't even know of such things when I joined ATS.

My current avatar expresses my love for Fine Art. Some of my other avatars express other things important to me including my religious beliefs.

My avatar is a painting i did myself. I do all my avatars from scratch, as i am a professional artist. I find it blasphemy to use others work. I understand how all of you use peoples' work you love and that is so cool, but for me it doesn't express myself if i use someone else work. This particular picture is of alien sea dragons. 3 things i love together, hehe

Optix is short for Zero-Optix a moniker that i have used for a longtime in gaming and art.

Good idea; I can see why some may be nervous to post, but you might get some good responses like the ones above. Hope they keep coming because there are some great ones - Optix comes to mind.

Mine is kinda hard to see, but it's my first and only avatar - It's a still shot from a short I made called "It's Gone"; the character is Derk Magma, the world's only torso-less porn star and he is trying to drink a 16oz PBR during an interview. I love him because of his positive nature in light of his disability. I added the silly eye underneath because I am a dork.

The story behind my profile name goes something like this. I just happened to be watching a Tampa Bay Buccaneers game one day when Keyshawn Johnson went off about himself not getting the ball. Being the fan of the National Football League that I am, the name stuck with me. I have had many nicknames and questions pertaining to my name. I could go over the nicknames, but I'm not going to do it because it may take a little while.

As for the avatar, it's kind of hard to explain to people. The avatars that I have used in the past where all influenced by the railroads in one particular way or another. For one reason, my dad knew a few railroaders from his days with the local volunteer squad. Sometimes, they'd just happen to be coming through town when a call would go out. Most of the time, they'd put their train into emergency and run the call with them. You would basically know if the engineer, conductor, or both were on a department if they suddenly went into emergency when the sirens started.

Not only that, but my dad is still an avid train buff to this day. He's basically the one person who got me started on the hobby. The thing is, he has never really gotten to grasp the idea fo taking photos of them like I have. He's one of the people who can identify a steam locomotive like it's nothing. When it comes to the diesels though, he has some trouble identifying them.

When people ask me, "How did I get started in this particular hobby?" I just say that I blame my father for it.

My nick is cuz I owned a 1991 Eagle Talon. It was non-turbo, but I loved it. And it sent me on a path of loving all DSMs and finding a hobby of working on cars.

And my avatar is due to a dream I had recently. I walked through a door of watery type stuff. Though there wasn't a unicorn on the other side, I thought it would make a cool avatar.

this was my first avatar,it didn't have any meaning behing it.


this was my second. that's me on the bike it goes with my Sn and it was the only atempt i ever made at creating an avatar.


this was my third--made by ROSWELL1, i chose the ninja because i consider my self a bit mysterious and the sniper scope sight because i like everything that has to do with snipers.
