No one every said that such a person does not exist. The problem is that the POLICE are saying her statement has changed and there are many inconsistencies in it from what she has stated before. Meaning, SHE IS FULL OF S>>>!

Like I said in my last post, if someone is going to rob another person, they aren't going to take their time after getting the loot and miraculously spotting the bumper sticker to 'teach them a lesson'. They are going to run. They have their money. Why risk anything else? Unless the intent was to rape which it obviously wasn't.

I will wait to see what the police investigation comes up with. I bet they will come out with exactly what you stated. She did this herself either for a) an attempt to make Obama supporters look like loons and criminals and/or b) to get attention for herself. I bet she is going to try and sue Obama now for his 'people' attacking her for having a McCain bumper sticker.

I think your right. The fact that she forgot to mention that she was sexually assaulted but remembered about the $60 being taken does make it seem like a hoax. I would think that someone who was sexually assaulted in such a situation would have a vivid memory of the incident shortly after it occurred.

My perspective is our world needs a helping heap of empathy and understanding. If the story is a hoax she needs serious help and I hope she finds it. The law will see to any applicable punishments (I hope).

TMZ is reporting that the ATM camera does not show Todd at the ATM at the time of the alleged attack.

New info from the Pittsburgh Police Department -- there is a gaping hole in the story of the woman who claims she was attacked because she's a McCain supporter. The PD has released a statement saying "We have received photos from the ATM machine at the Citizens Bank and the photographs was (sic) verified as NOT being the victim making the transaction." In other words, the woman who says she was attacked at the ATM machine wasn't there at the time of the alleged attack.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh police say a McCain campaign volunteer who said she was held down by a black man who cut the letter "B" in her face has changed her story.

Police spokeswoman Diane Richard says investigators gave the 20-year-old woman a lie-detector test and are "looking at some inconsistencies" in her story.

The student, Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, initially said a black man robbed her at knifepoint Wednesday night and then cut her cheek after seeing a McCain sticker on her car.

Police say bank surveillance footage doesn't show her at an ATM where she says she was attacked.

Todd, who is white, now says she was knocked unconscious and doesn't remember being cut. She now says she only discovered the wound later.

I think it's make-up. The white of her eye is perfectly clear, no red, no swelling, just charcoal color. No blue, purple or red that usually accompanies bruises...

Among other things, police said photos and bank card information from an automated teller machine where the college student claimed she was robbed do not show her using the machine at the time, police said.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard wouldn't release the polygraph results, but said, "we're still looking at some inconsistencies" in the woman's story.

I smell a rat.. But I will reserve those thoughts for when the polygraph is released to the public. I just hope for her sake she is telling the God honest truth. As if she is making this story up.. I would hope she would face charges herself.

BREAKING NEWS A Pittsburgh police commander says a volunteer for the McCain campaign who reported being robbed and attacked near a bank ATM in Bloomfield has confessed to making up the story. Police say charges will be filed. More details to follow.
