Solid state aircraft!!!!

I think we may have a winner!

Thanks very much for providing the link to that hilariously entertaining, yet educational video!

That was one fat crow on afterburners they shot there...

Seriously now... this seems to be a pretty obvious fake, for one the whole concept is ludicrous, the execution is lacking (50's camera in a 80's aircraft?) and I do believe those were photoshops of some of the Billy Meier photos. Which could technically make this a bihoax, or a hoax that sleeps with other hoaxes.

It did however make me smile.

Let's think of the time (1948). Back then, everybody didn't have camcorders/cameras like we do today. What are the chances that one day a person goes on an airplane with a video camera (a COLOR one no less!) and sees this "manta ray"? Europe didn't even have color television until the 1960's!

Well this explains all the supposed sightings of Alien Craft.

But seriously, you can't say that it doesn't resemble an ET UFO.

OMG now I've seen it all...

Stay tuned for tomorrow's thread when Godzilla attacks Tokyo.

Folks, just LOOK at what is before your eyes, study the geometry of the object. There are no flat wings flapping. A cursory glance shows a point up , and then down, and the horizontal stays somewhat fixed. OK, dont let your eyes decieve you. I see rotation clockwise around the horizontal of a transforming mass that is at times pointed and as it spins around clockwise this point is up and then down. Are ya with me? Lets not pull the Dick Cheney sunglasses blind to whats in front of your face act at ATS here, we are smarter and more observant than that. Take a real look. Nothing manta ray about it. New direction with the thread might be warranted. carry on.....

Isn't it annoying that we have so many land creatures to ride, but no sky ones?
hmm
That really sucks.
The world would definitely be a different place wouldn't it.

Are you guys sure that thing isn't robotic?

I just saw something recently about a robotic manta ray.

Can't remember if it was under water or flying.

Here is a link to something called an Aqua-Ray

and another for a Robot Manta Ray

I'll have to search for the one I saw.

That is pretty freaky. The fact that it looks so organic from just a little bit away and then has NO features close up is just kind of creepy.

It's definitely film and not video, but I doubt it's from the late 40s. I'd put it more toward the 70s.

Also, like most have said, it's not a manta ray, but I totally agree that it's another type of animal/creature. I don't think it's NASAs little project, cuz it looks bulkier in the middle. That doesn't necessarily make it heavier, either.

Conclusion! Not a Manta Ray, but definitely something else if it's real footage. There are techniques to make video look like film (slowing down the frame rate + adding a grain), but I for one think the FILM is real. I wish there were a vid of this without the beginning and ending content.

Who knows?

Maybe this was a species that wasn't catalogued yet, and is now recently extinct? It'd be interesting to know the actual date and LOCATION where this was filmed. It wouldn't surprise me if it were a documenter flying above rain forests, jungles, or mountainous regions where new species are found every year.

The only people we have searching the skies are pilots!

If they see something strange in the sky, chances are, they wont report it out of fear of ridicule....

So anything could be up there and us laymen wouldn't be the wiser.....

Thanks for the open minded post

Air Ray

From the same site posted earlier, but out of the comments for that page. Some weird balloon Manta! I've gotta get me one of those, with satellite controls. In an outdoor environment, I figure you could get one of those going pretty fast!

Sorry about how long it took to respond to this, link wasn't working.

Anyway, I don't have the time really to download the video and everything BUT I did look it over again and it seems I may have been wrong about the artifact; it looks like a shadow. I believe someone else said the same thing a few pages ago. Look under the wing nearest the plane.

This looks really close, problem is the original video looks old and this project still seems to be in "development" Maybe it was a military version of this.
