Another question.

Can anyone define what reality is? Sounds simple, but is it?

Reality is....

There are things Horatio in this lifetime that are beyond your understanding.

But if he is Omnipotent and Omnipresent, as christianity claims. then he is also bad, evil, hateful, vengeful; in essence, he is Christ and the Devil in one singular entity...(or does he just suffer from schizophrenia?)

On a more serious note, if such an entity existed how would we, mere humans, even begin to understand it's nature?

Of course, we can always count on our universal sized arrogance...

The Bible is a tough read. So many really nasty elements and stories that it is difficult to even imagine the Book to be anything other than a really complex myth written by our ancestors. That is how I found myself reading Scripture..... until I decided to accept the "Definition of God" and reread the Book.

God is Holy. Read the Bible from this perspective and the "Book" will open up to you.

Something happened in the Garden of Eden that stole The God-With-Us from our daily lives. It has been a struggle for the Children of God to bring back the Living Word of God.... forever.

How can we expect to define God? The bible says that He is 'beyond understanding'.

We can't even define what matter is, or mind/thought, or life, or magnetism, or gravity, or time..........or pretty much anything, really.

If we can't define earthly things, how can we hope to define heavenly things?

We have simply been given enough, so far, to enable us to make a decision as to whether or not we believe in God.

And we HAVE been given enough.

Hi Old Man,

Welcome to the thread...

One old man to another...

If we are looking at script from the bible, it is written Jesus said

"I an the Way, the Truth and The Life."

or "I am the Way, The Truth and The Light."

In other words I guess if we know what The Life of God is, Then this is The Way and The Truth...

Now it is written that The Life of God, is The Light of Man.

As this came from a Greek script The word "Phos" is used in Greek.

The translation of the Greek word "Phos" means in English, "Light" as in Sun Light and any other Light for example from a star or other origin...

Phos in Greek does Not mean "Understanding" as often thought by many when the English word Light is used in scripture...

So I guess we have to look into the word Life as well and understand what Life actually is.

My understanding is that the Life of God is indeed Light.

In saying this, I am also aware that Awareness in in Life but this raises the question is "Light" Aware of everything?

Hmmm I wonder.... Has humankind overlooked something here or Not understand the True nature of Light?

Any thoughts on this?

Thank you for your valued input too as it raises more questions that need answering.

But all these questions may in fact cause us to understand more about The Truth than we would have expected.

The more I learn the more Questions I need to ask.....

I think maybe you are getting yourself too 'wrapped up' in trying to understand or define both light and life.

No man alive understands what life is, or what light is. We only know what has been revealed to us.

God Himself will be our light, after Jesus returns. He is also our life.

If we can't even understand the basic things, even of this life, how (or why) should we expect to be able to understand spiritual things?

We BELIEVE!

But our faith is based on a solid foundation.

That is enough for me. I hope it is for you, too.

Not wanting to simply list the Philosophy 101 big 3 O's definition of God... I will let my mind wander a bit.

God is holy. The laws that govern all things both material and spiritual are perfect/holy. God is all that is right/holy with this creation. God is love and discipline. God loves and interacts with the creation and His children. Whatever "works" is Holy. Final thought...

"Yahweh is a warrior!" So... The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom...

Kogswell...I love your name dude.

Just wanted to say Yahweh means "self existent" or "cause to become". If that be the case "the name", then think about this. Does the self existent one know how they came into existence, being they just exist?

We might ask the same of ourselves, for it was not our parents that brought us into being, only they were the vessels of material to ferry us across the "Jordan" meaning descender, into the "Good land" called Yisrael which is to say "He will rule as God".

Since the life in us is existent, without our known knowledge of it's origin as to only say, it is passed though our family by blood. And wither by species or by name such life is in debt to pass that life on for it's own survival which is truth, might the message of Christs salvation become clearer and the truth of that message become understood in that "to the least of these so also have you done unto me"?

Would they see what "Veil" is torn in the "temple" from top to bottom when he says "into your hands I commend my spirit"?

Would they understand why water and blood dispersed?

Would they see the truth simply for what it is and that God choose the simple things of the world to confound the wise?

Would they understand why the meek inherit the earth or what earth is?

Would people understand who is GOING to the cross with a HOLLYWOOD of thorns around their heads?

Would they understand why Jesus is saying, "Forgive them father for they know not what they do"?

Anyway, questions popped up in my head.

Peace

Good morning letthereaderunderstand...

The Questions you ask are the very ones I want to bring up..

I sort of had it roughly planed out how I was going to lay down path I was intending to lead people along but you have accelerated the pace somewhat by introducing these questions...LOL.

I must be getting a little slow in my old age...

I am just on my way out of town but back tonight so I will attempt to give my thoughts on these questions from past experience.

I can sort of explain how everything stared even though my English and communication skills still requiring serious attention.. LOL especially in spelling and gramma.

But anyway I will do my utmost best.

it may be a little hard for some to grasp as it involves some controversial thinking but my thoughts are based on development work i I am doing right now today...

It actually involves the manufacturing of a child's toy that we (a number of people) are planning to introduce in about 18 months time.

The toy is for educational purposes to introduce an ancient technology into the world again.

The idea of the toy is to acclimatise people to this technology as humankind is so superstitious about geometry and its uses.

But anyway I must go now so more on this when I get back tonight...

Oh...

OK, just one question, if I may...
How do you expect to understand God, or whatever, if you do not even know how the Bible was compiled, and created?

It may be a book you like, Holy it is not...

Since today I do not have enough time, for which I apologize, I will just leave with some subjects of interest, on the great book:

- Old Testament - Basically the history of the Jewish Tribes. Many plagiarized passages from the Sumerian, Assyrian, Egyptian...
- New Testament - A compilation of texts, organized in Niceia, on orders from a Pagan Emperor, Constantine, and composed of both Pagan, Jewish, and scholars from many christian sects. Some texts were accepted, and added, others where reject...(some of the rejected ones have been mentioned in this forum).

I will be more specific, if necessary, in a few hours...Sorry, for the "rushed-job"...

This is an age old question that has stood the test of time, and MAN.

Not an easy one to answer. Just look at the number of Posts. At the time of this post, there were 116 Posts. With 116 viewpoints, opinions, beliefs, and ideas.

And now I shall add my opinion (this is what I tell myself when I cannot sleep):

God is not a tangible thing. Nor is it a thing either. Nor a he. Nor a she. An "it" for now. It depends on your faith, or lack of one. Man has been on this planet for about 35,000 years or so and we still have not come up with a satisfactory answer to this question.

So, with all that having been said, relax. Do not sweat it. Just know that when the day comes and you close your eyes for what will be your last time, you will know the next instant if there is or ever was a God.

Sweet Dreams.

Hi Old Man, from another old man,

It is written in Christian writings Jesus said to his disciples " What you are expecting has already come, but you do Not recognise it"

Jesus also said "Bow Not down to me for I am your Fellow servant, but to thy Lord Thy God."

And another place... Jesus said "Do Not call me Master as I am your fellow servant and friend."

Some of the Saints that slept in the ground arose and went into Jerusalem to tell others at the Time of the Crucifixion of Jesus.

Jesus also as you know was resurrected from the dead.

What happened to The Saints that were resurrected ?

What sort of situation frightened the Romans so much, that they burned Jerusalem to the ground and then ploughed it into the ground, and would not allow any one to cross over this ground for many years...

I guess you would run too, if some bodies came out of the ground in front of you right now... Or maybe I may be wrong but I think you would be a little nervous now wouldn't you?

Maybe it may have been the resurrection of the dead, that drove the Authorities to do this.

For the ruler of your Country, to order the burning and burying of your home city or town, would be rather extraordinary...

What sort of horror would be require to make this decision.

Make you wonder doesn't it?

What is your thought on these two mentioned above....

All questions and statements are profitable to learning of The Truth.

Thank you for your Valued Input...

Hi mary ann nogaliza,

Welcome to the thread...

What you have written is True.
I also feel the same way as you have mentioned, but what is your definition of the "Word" God?

I know this may seem a little strange to you, but I have my reasons for asking this Question, as I shall reveal later in the thread.
This Question has nothing to do with whether God exists or not.

I experienced death in 1973 and I mean "brain dead" as on record by doctors.
I was reported "brain dead" for more than 30 minutes, but to me I was very much alive but Not in human terms.

I have my story and will say more about this, later on in another thread, as I hope to start a number of different threads in a certain order.

But I am a Witness of The Light...

But what I am asking in this thread is What is definition of The "Word" God?

I have my own thoughts on this, but I am more Interested in other peoples thoughts at present.

Have you read a Christian writing called "The Thunder Perfect Mind"?
You may find it on the net. If you get time to read it, I know you will enjoy this writing.
It is only a very, very, short Christian Writing...

The aim of this thread is not to argue but it is intended as a thread where we can express our deepest thoughts and feelings without confrontation.

I am only another very, very, small droplet in a very big ocean.

Where The Droplet represents a portion of the True Mind.

The Ocean represents The True Mind...

I believe that we should seek, knowledge, Understanding and Wisdom, as Wisdom opens the door to Love and this paths the way to Life and to The True mind and "The Man Child" or "Son of Man" through The Christ to The Father and The Ancient of Days.

Thank you for you valued contribution, as it helps us to clarify our understanding.
