No, since both of those names are common. I would expect people calling them by the incorrect name just because of the "commonness" of them though.

See - antiobama smear campaigns like this are showing the true colors of those who support them

How is showing the similaraties of the names smearing. It's pretty obvious the names look and sound similar and in a subliminal way.

These people think that we, as American Citizens, are that DUMB. No doubt there is a small percentage of people that are truly that mind numbingly stupid.
So which is it? Are Americans dumb in general or just the ones that numbingly disagree with your views? It seems to be a trend of the Democratic Left to consider those who disagree with them to be stupid, ect, ect. Name calling won't really win you debates. Just a little food for thought.

I just hate stupid people....

They should just have to wear a sign that says I'm Stupid

maybe the ATS crew could make us a new smiley that is a wooden plank that reads "here's your sign"

that'd be great

Time to get off your high horse there Andrew. I don't really see what your are trying to accomplish by throwing such words around.

Why not just say it like it is? You're white and you don't want people to vote for Obama cos he's black and he has a muslim name.

So thats the only reason now? I am now a racist on two levels because I am a conservative? I can't possible not want Obama for president for any other reason?

YOU'RE the bigot bud.

So who in America is going to vote for Obama based on someone thinking they are voting for OBL? I don't get that one.

There will be the extremes in any set. What it I am pointing out is that someone, out of spite, hatred of country, crazy, something, would choose to vote that way. Not saying many, but at least one. It is near impossible to not find that one stray point in such a large amount of data.

Of course, most making that mental connection would go against. Hopefully you see my point that it will happen but it is not the majority.

Amzing that you can see the subliminal. Most folks in America including many here cannot see it, even when its more obvious than the clouds in the sky. The fact that OBAMA sounds like OSAMA, the muslim connection of his father, middle name is HUSSEIN (Saddam Hussein -Iraq). Now this which you see with your spirit eyes.

You cannot reach these people anymore...they are damned and unrecoverable because they hate the truth and love the lie. (The ones that say nonsense, poke fun at you with the tinfoil hat jokes, the ones that tell you to take your meds and joke about black helicopters) There is no sense in trying to convince these people of the truth any longer. Let destiny take its course.

star for you. It's called "Not being able to see the forrest cause(or "for")the trees."

If people cannot understand how this works, then I feel bad for them.

Advertising has been useing similiar tricks for years. The ones who don't see the significance of this, are probably sipping on a Starbucks coffee, and on there way to Walmart or Home Depot right now for crap they don't need.

The messages, and symbols are so "in your face" some people can't even notice it anymore.

Unless you see it, and understand it, there is no way you can stop it frm affecting your "sub concious"(sp?) mind. You must first bring it to your concious mind.

There is nothing silly about this at all, and until this is taken seriously, we will never get out from under the clutches of the shadow government that runs this world. This is one of the ways the illuminati have been controlling the masses for ages. Symbolism, and attacks on the subconcious some of thier most powerful weapons against free thinking.

It has nothing to do with the illuminati wanting you to vote for or against Obama(potus is just a puppet haven't you heard?), and has everything to do with keeping you in fear. Obama/Biden will be everywhere for the masses to see. It is even better than haveing Osama Bin Ladens name tagged up everywhere in the Media, and in the Papers, Magazines, and Billboards(one of thier favorites btw) ect. Because against it is assaulting your subconcious, which is even better for them, especially when trying to keep a nation in fear of Terrorism.

I'd say this idea of the running mates sounding like Bin Laden is utterly ridiculous.

But then I crawl out of my fortified bunker and realize that in today's world, and given the resulting two candidates the general population of the US have decided are the best choices for our country, I realize that yes, this will play a big part and will be mentioned on the news and used against their efforts.

I'm heading back to the bunker to do my yearly inventory.

Although it may be a stretch to think that this choice was intentional for whatever reason, I had the same thought as you did. There is a lot of resemblance in the syllables.

People DO make those subconscious connections. When applied to large numbers, even a 0.05 chance of making a subconscious connection to inhibit voting could translate into enough votes to make a difference.

Predicting what the effect may be is not necessarily straight forward, at least for me.

I can imagine ways in which a subconscious link could either reinforce or inhibit voting for them, and I find it hard to decide.

Yes and change some letters in McCain and you have Insane!

AND people who voted for BUSH might have thought they were actually electing a part of the female anatomy to office! Maybe that explains how he won the last election!

How many people who vote are going to think.. Geez I didn't know Osama Bin Laden was on the ticket! I can't vote for him!

ATS should hand out an award for the dumbest thread each year.

Osama is spelled with an "a" by the way.

You have to know this makes no sense. Something cannot be obvious and subliminal at the same time.

So which is it?

Yes this is a pointless thread. More of the same.

Yes.

I think its a very sad reflection of US politics when something so trivially stupid as this is bought to light.

You aren't voting for peoples names.

You're voting for your countries leader.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Yes, but many people don't get that fact. They vote for who's better looking or have more hair or have a catchy name. Its the day of the sound bite and the smear. What matters most is what is the opinion of the 'RockStar' or newest 'Movieclown'. A very sad state of affairs!!!

If you think that people are being impolite, don't stoop to that level. Instead be extra curteous in what you post.

I was reading an article to my husband yesterday that was discussing the Obama Biden ticket and I read the names aloud as "Osama BinLaden" without even catching myself! My husband interrupted me mid-sentence and asked me to clarify if the article stated "Obama Biden" or "Osama BinLaden." It was very strange and I'm glad I'm not alone in seeing how easily the mistake can be made.

I suppose it was a Freudian slip ... my personal view of Obama is that he is a form of terrorist and no doubt, one could easily argue that Biden ("Bite Em") could be considered a verbal terrorist!

I don't think the OP is too far off here. It does seem weird imo and NLP should always be in the back of you're mind. I think people are being a little harsh on the OP but then again these same people don't understand the possibility that the whole election could be a sham and that our same representatives could be nothing more than paid actors.

Is this ridiculous? In the 2000 election you had Florida, whose Democrats were too stupid to know how to vote on the "butterfly" ballot and lost the race for Al Gore. It was priceless.

I wouldn't doubt there will be some back woods voters out there making the connection to Bin Laden from Obama/Biden - but then again I doubt those kind of people would have been voting for the "black guy" anyway.

Somebody that would make this mistake should probably not be voting. If they're that uneducated about the candidates they're voting for, they should probably just keep their a** at home on voting day.
