It is pretty obvious this family is from Ossetia, which heavily favors Russia and Russian policy. We all know this war started with fighting between Ossetia paramilitary and Georgia. No one doubts Georgia continued to attack South Ossetia in "response" to that fight. No one also doubts that Russia crossed the line when they invaded Georgia proper. This was was not "fabricated" as some claim and is not part of a bigger conspiracy as some claim. It is the continuation of a conflict that expands decades.

i love how the aunt called his ass out!

Still I dont know how people can choose sides pn this issue when I think that its been clearly documented that BOTH sides are at guilt on this issue.

This has less to do with Georgia sovereign integrity or Russia trying to protect defenseless South Ossetians, certainly thats what is at core, but these recent developments were planned with anticipation by BOTH sides. At the end a lot of people have died on BOTH side unnecessary by the calculated actions of BOTH countries leaders.

This Russia-Georgia situation is generating so much contrevorsy its not even funny. Right now the evidence is so stacked against Georgia to the point it seems like this whole thing was a set-up to get the U.S. to fight Russia. Somebody wants World War III.

I have to say it was truly courageous for this family to come out and state the truth. It seems like with each witness statement, there is even more evidence that Georgia is completely at fault for this. Even liberals in Russia, who are strongly anti-Putin the way liberals in the U.S. are anti-Bush, thoroughly blame Georgia for this mess. Imagine if Michael Moore or Keith Olbermann wholeheartedly backed Bush in a particular situation? This is how damning the evidence is against Georgia.

Oh yeah, how ironic was it that Shepherd Smith says "There are gray areas in war." When it came to Iraq, Fox news was at the forefront in letting the world know that everything, especially war, is in black and white. Pathetic.

BTW, that girl may have been 12, but she's really cute.

can someone give me and Ideal of what the girl said? I'm cursed with dial up so I don't get along with video sites.

I think I am Daniel going into the lion's den here but oh well.

I have read various reports on the situation between Russia and Georgia, and the picture just isn't complete no matter how much is already out there. From what I understand, and correct me if I am wrong, Georgia was dealing with internal separatists who are pro-Russia, and then Russia got involved. The Georgians took this as an attack on their sovereignty. Now, if this is the just of what started it all, it leaves out what the activity and behavior of the separatist were and the extent of how the Georgian government was trying to quell things.

I don't know if I could come to believe that Georgia led an attack on Russia. From every standpoint, that would be stupid and unrealistic.

As far the video, there are two points to address. First, the time issue. Quite often, they have common people come on to say something about some experience they had and it is a short interview. The fact that they ran into a hard break is not surprising. Secondly, they woman mentioned their family was from the area that was pro-Russian, so why is it that their comments seem to reveal some hidden truth and not just pro-Russian propaganda?

I do believe that there can be false flags. I don't think this is one. I think this is a situation that got out of hand. The only question is how with the rest of the world, especially the US react.

Why bring them on the show then?????????

The little brave girl thanked russia, beacause they SAW msm blame russia
the mother, or whoever she is, also blamed Georgia.

What more do you people want??????????

Dude, you are starting to flip out.

I have seen TONS of people get cut off of national TV because they MUST cut off gracefully or risk getting cut off by the local affiliates who are running paid advertisements.

The whole point of TV is to run ads.

Like I said, I've seen people get cut off who were discussing entertainment issues, sports issues, and political issues.

Stone Shepard was not "cutting their mic". If you REALLY think that this is suspicious you haven't been around broadcasting very long.

If you want to believe and support what the girl was saying, that's one thing. And I think there is plenty of evidence to do so.

But to act as if it were true only because Fox had to cut to a commercial is just juvenile.

It does sound that way doesn't it?

I wouldn't go that far. The Aunt seems like a shill for the Russians. She seemed to be a bit of a nutjob.

My gut doesn't trust the 12 yo either. Now I'm willing to believe that what you mention is true, that someone wants WWIII. But that someone would also benefit from causing division with plants like this.

I mean, today I just found out that Julia Friggin Child was a SPY! At this point.. everyone is suspect.

BTW, that girl may have been 12, but she's really cute.

Perv! :-)

so, after your daily immersion in like mindedness, do you feel informed?

There is a parallel in your post and this story: there are ALWAYS two sides to every story, and "fact" can be experiential and subjective. While i can agree with most of your 6 points listed, i am concerned with your admitted ignorance (as evidenced by your choice to ignore).

Agreed. The truth of the matter is that they gave both of them ample opportunity to voice their views. It was a 4 minute interview and both the girl and the aunt were able to clearly make their point at length and all but uncontested by the host (except for a very tame rebuttal at the end), that the Georgians were at fault, not the Russians. There was a commercial break, but if you've ever watched Fox News, its not uncommon at all for them to split an interview in that manner.

I think they got a pretty fair hearing, to be quite honest, especially when Fox News apparently thought they were going to be hearing this girl's story and not a political statement.

I didn't look but I imagine it cut off before the commercial and in my own snide way I'd like to ask anyone who was watching what she was cut off for. If it was a commercial break, was it for a product that was made from a petroleum base? Or was it for any other reason ? I'll gladly stand corrected. Did I mention that I don't watch television at all? Norman McLughan was right.

Does anyone know were the 12 yr old was during the interview? Russia? U.S.?

also, I’m no military strategist, but it seemed like Russia mobilized and deployed a hell of a lot of military hardware and personal really fast. Almost like it was planed. If anyone out there has any military logistical insight I would love to hear it.

Sad that in our times we need little children to deny our ignorance. Not for everyone apparently but they are hell bent on defending the govt and establishment no matter what happens in front of their eyes.

It looks like the presenters didnt expect their comments. The 2 obviously didnt mention it during the preparation. I want to thank them for having the courage to do this. They must have been pretty pissed at the image of the conflict the MSM portrayed. I dont think they were out of time, looks like the interview just began and I am sure they had plenty of question, it is pretty clear the 'journalit' was confused too.

After seeing the video, i was surprised to not find it on RussiaToday, sent them the link.

It's a matter of record actually that Russia has seen this coming for 4 months or more, and has been getting ready for at least 3 months. We just aren't being given much information on the conflict by the media- frankly because the more info you get about this thing, the easier it becomes to see the argument that Russia is defending its strategic interests from unwarranted NATO expansion aimed squarely at Russia.

For months Russia has been preparing to recognize the independence of Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Transnistria (all breakaway provinces of former soviet republics which are defacto independent but not legally). They must have had some idea about all this for as long as Georgia has been thinking about joining NATO, and it was even more obvious when Georgia didn't include Abhazia or South Ossetia in their vote on joining NATO.

The discussion in the Russian Duma began March 13 and Putin actually began the process on April 16. The Secretary General of NATO immediately asked Russia not to do it and Georgia not to wig out about it. The only reason not to see this coming would be because nobody informed you of what was happening over there.

4 days later on April 20 the Georgians started sending UAVs over Abkazia and was shot down- though the Russians deny it, the UN has concluded that the UAV was shot down by a Russian jet, probably flying from an airbase in Abkhazia

On April 29th the Russians announced they were increasing their forces in the area (they already had troops there as peacekeepers).

Around July, Georgia imported some weaponry from the USA, Israel, Turkey, Poland, and other nations and sent an extra 1400 troops to Iraq to warm up (1000 of which were recalled home for the current conflict on August 8).

I figure that break was a plant... I have had some experience in broadcasting
and the second out was not a hard out,,, that was a pull.

If I had to go to the very darkest recesses of the conspiracy in my mind I could see how the whole event in the east could benefit the GOP... HELL you would not believe the trouble they went through to create the CALIFORNIA ENERGY CRISIS,,, I think time and time again BUSH and all his buddies have shown a disciplined level of collusion and manipulation that is incredible.

This Gas crisis smells and so does this BS, just like the CALIFORNIA ENERGY CRISIS... Fox had folks on back then that they would gut and "debunk" people just to marginalize any criticism. The level that they promoted the WHITEHOUSE?/ENRON
talking points was incredible. The rules and truth are now owned,, BFFT somehow believe that two truths can coexist???

GOP is going for another 4, at any cost, war, life,
death. terror... Georgia owes, needs a fast track to nato????

If our society ever breaks down I am going to FOX with a meat clever and
a wood chipper like the angel of death!

Wow, let us all put all credibility of the situation on a 12 year old.

Shes obviously was told what to say, and imo fox news doesn't seem to have "cut her off" like many here are claiming.
