This is what we do as Americans. We help those being oppressed. We are sending in humanitarian help for the people of the DEMOCRATIC country of Georgia. Whether Russia likes it or not, that does not matter. The people of Georgia now feel a little better that the Great USA is on the way to show Russia they can not just roll over countries for the purpose of showing who is boss.
Funny that,
Iran is also a DEMOCRATIC country - should Russia come to their aid when israel/US attack?

Rather than posting a big, long rant that will just get me riled up, I'm just going to post this one word that will make my point.
Iraq.
I'm just curious - how many UN Resolutions did Georgia ignore before Russia decided to invade?

U.S. Military Instructors Command Hirelings in Georgia
Thousands of mercenaries are fighting for Georgia in this burning conflict with South Ossetia. They are commanded by the U.S. military instructors, RIA Novosti reported with reference to a high-ranked officer of Russia’s military intelligence.
“From 2,500 to 3,000 mercenaries fight against Russia’s peacekeepers on behalf of Georgia,” the unnamed source said. Amid them are the natives of Ukraine, some Baltic states and the Caucasus regions.
The U.S. military instructors directly command and coordinate actions of mercenaries without being involved in actual fighting, the source specified. According to intelligence data, there are roughly 1,000 military instructors of the United States in Georgia.
Troops from Atlanta will train in Republic of Georgia
A large contingent of Georgia Army National Guard soldiers flew to the Republic of Georgia on Sunday for joint military exercises at a time when tension is brewing in the region.
The soldiers, mostly from the metro area, will be part of "Immediate Response 2008," which will amount to the largest U.S. footprint on the crossroads of Asia and Europe since the Cold War began.
The three-week operation also provides practical training for the 48th Infantry Brigade's 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment just months before a pending deployment to Afghanistan

Awesome! Surely the Russians won't be able to resist taking out a couple of Americans with accidental fire. Then we'll have to respond with force! Luckily, there are already a lot of troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, not doing anything particularly important at the moment. They can be in Georgia in no time! Not to mention the naval and air force forces.
This is going to be fun! We've been waiting for this war for over 50 years!!!
Bring it! We'll be home by Christmas!

Quite a bit of propaganda is flying through the air right now. But I get this strange feeling that this one may actually be true.
It covers all of the bases needed for a good solid cover story for a covert operation. It would sound crazy enough to throw off the casual public and would put operatives in the perfect position to. . . You know. . . . Operate.

The third source is correct, but dated from last month. That exercise ended at the beginning of August.

Its funny, because you know, I could have sworn the "Great USA" did exactly that in Iraq
Hypocrisy in action there....

Was it our intelligence or the intelligence of another country? Boy....it is awful dangerous throwing around insinuating assumptions. Now that too stinks of hypocrisy is you ask me.
As far as not agreeing on who is more dangerous? I guess we have a different of opinion there, and I am ok with that. I guess if I differ with you, you think I must be wrong. That leaves no room for debate. I have never felt threatened personally by any Georgian person.
But as an American who lives in NY and worked just blocks from the twin towers and lived through that horrible day, I feel threatened by certain Muslims.
Yes, call me xenophobic, but we were attacked twice by them at the towers.
How many Georgians have hijacked American planes? So did I look at Hussein as a threat. your damn right I did.
I am glad he is no more, I sleep better at night knowing our American troops are stationed there.
If Iran is next, so be it. A little more freedom in this world is not a terrible thing
A little more sleep for those of us that live in fear of another Muslim led attack on our soil is refreshing.
That's my answer....like it or not.
