As long as we cling to a belief in the "Democrats vs Republicans" format, shutting our eyes tight against the truth that PARTY DOESN'T MATTER anymore, they own us. As long as we continue to tolerate millions of global dollars being spent to buy influence among those perpetrating the hoax of "representation", they own us.
As long as the Supreme Court decision to open wide the campaign coffer floodgates to Madison Ave and Wall Street piglet-payers and their ilk is not challenged, they own us.

As long as we continue to listen to party-line moaning the words "liberals", "conservatives" as if the words have any meaning at all, we are being had.

As long as we tolerate for a SECOND the resurrection of yet another fairytale version of the "trickle down theory" as justification for tax cuts for the wealthy, we are being idiots.

As long as we tolerate the "reasoning" behind no positive steps being taken to bring back outsourced jobs by levying of taxes on corporations that take these jobs offshore, we are being had.

As long as billions are wasted on prescription drugs to "treat" diseases while cures are being found and suppressed, we are being killed.

As long as we tolerate for one minute politicians NOT delivering on their promises...we act like children, milling around in a sandbox, reluctant to accept the fact that recess is over.
WE need to move our 401K's and other investment funds to solar energy development AND affordable community implementation; WE need to support research on natural non-prescription treatments like acupuncture and alternative therapies not drugs. WE need to demand that the FDA refuses marketing of potentially dangerous drugs without proper screening of clinical trials; WE need to start at out local community levels to mandate that toxic fluoride be removed from our water supply.(and save a bundle in the process). WE AMERICANS are going to have to start the changes rolling at home before we regain the right to democracy.

I must agree with your post. I lean to conservative/libertarian as I do not believe "handing out" money, services, education, etc. to people who are perfectly capable of working hard as I, and many others do, and they do not deserve my hard earned money in the form of higher taxes. I am sick, of both sides, demonizing each other and fear mongering. What happened to honest, intellectually stimulating conversation? What happened to civil debate where both sides are presented and then discussed to logical conclusion? My youngest son went off to College and four years later was a raving "left wing" ideologue! He could not even hold a conversation without resorting to standard "talking points' such as "Bush lied...kids died!" There is no discussion with him. He immediately resorts to name calling, apologizing that the United States is an exceptional nation and cannot grasp that some "enemies" of the United States do not want to find common ground with us, they just want us to roll over and/or die. Regardless of which side you may lean to, civil discussion and logical thought processes are beneficial to both sides and provokes actual problem solving. Please can we find a way to restore dignity to disagreement?

I vactioned with my family through out the United States of America in the early '70s. I have to say it is some of the most beautiful country I have ever seen on this planet. Thinking of driving through the Grand Canyon,
hells gate, down the west coast through California. BEAUTIFUL country. My memories of the 'U.S. are extremely fond and amazing. The people we met were AWESOME, Everywhere!, never met a mean American Myself. As I grow older and more 'EXPERIENCED' I CANNOT believe, where your country's succesive governments have taken you. I see an ASTONISHING advancement in medicine and technology. Yet a frightening
'world police' policy by TPTB ie:the TSA, FEMA and all the other 3 and 4 letter monikers by which it seems to

I would suggest that more care should be taken with pronouns. "You, your and yours" have the effect of building a barrier 'tween the speaker and the listeners which can cause us to think him/her aloof and distanced. Try using "we, us, our or ours" instead. These serve a better purpose through inclusiveness.

i dont know what's going on here in the usa,but i really do not like it.whatever happened to love thy neighbor,show them respect,and treat them like you want to be treated?this is an awful world we live in where only the rich live great lives!makes me sick!

I am new to the website and have to say that this type of post is so refreshing. I look forward to seeing one public forum (pun intended) not becoming servants to the masters on issues of elections. The constant drivel peddled as truth during these times is indeed criminal and shameful. I only hope once in my lifetime that we see a return to some semblance of a just election.
