There is no way those two images are the same focal point of the same landscape, with one image being cropped to save space on imageshack or whereever.

None.

I thought I might have had something, with my previous post, providing a reason why the landscape is so different.

You now still say its the same view, just cropped.

The differences in slopes from each image proves these are not from the same angle, and also the lack of foliage in the former and latter images prove that out of these 3 images, 2 are coherent, and one is not.

Not the same location, unless you ran very very fast in 5 minutes to take 1 image from point A, to the dark one off in the distance at point B then ran back to Point C which is slightly further away from point A.

Oh well, at least you didnt try to hack the suns head off and subsequently get zapped by the fish man holding a blanket over your head.........

Why? Why ???

Daft question, but why does the second picture show a completely different view? It's not even a telephoto shot of the glen depicted in the first picture!

In any case, it appears to be a clear case of that rare and inexplicable phenomenon known as a big dark cloud moving in front of the sun

!!!!!!
Happens all the time here (East Kilbride Scotland). In fact anywhere in Scotland this happens. Now if you happen to be in a glen then it can get very dramatic. Loch Ness, ironically, is a very good one. The height, steep sides, narrowness and oriantation mean the the light levels can switch as quickly as a light bulb. Probably explains lots of "sightings".

I think we have a problem with the TV gaming generation who occasionally go outside and are disturbed by "the sky" and "the weather".

if you have read any of dan's posts especially in the survival threads, you would see that he is always out doing stuff - hiking, camping in the hills and mountains etc around inverness i am sure he has seen alot of strange weather! tv weather generation him - i dont think so. so it must have been very strange for him to remark and take pics of it.

Indeed he has, like lenticular clouds rising up from the sea
Indeed he's seen a lot more this past 3 months than I have in over 20 years of wandering in the Scottish hills.

But the unanswered question remains: why is picture no 2 of a completely different view to that in pictures 1 and 3 which were taken before and after? Based on the topography in those 2 pictures I can't even see how picture 2 could have been taken from the same spot. It certainly was not taken 'looking down' the same valley shown in pictures 1 and 3. And I can think of no reason why the picture would need cropping whereas the others didn't.

Come on Dan 'fess up

I'm going to ask my question again, maybe this time i'll get some feedback.

WHY didn't you look up at the sun when it got dark?

That would have been the first thing i would have done, and i believe that any person would have done the exact same thing.

You found the time to take pictures of the event and yet you didn't find the time to check if the sun was still in its place? Come on.

This hoax has earned way too much attention.

Dan refuses to address the plethora of questions about the reason for #2 picture being in a different location, the reason for editing/manipulating the 'evidence', or not looking for the sun.

If Dan was reputable here his peers should begin to question that, for even if this was all done with honest intentions, his stalwart ignorance and refusal to address the questions raised is as dangerous as any malicious hoax.

Clouds, eclipse or scam.

Don't waste energy on this topic, let it die.

Gee, did you think of looking up? Tell me you looked up, like a normal human would. And tell me what you saw when you looked up.

That will answer your question.

I took the photo and did look up. OMFG.... the sky was dark. Hence the dark picture.

Thats why i said it was like an eclipse... light levels dropped markedly.

he had already answered it on the first page

No, that just answers the question "did you look up". It doesn't answer the question "did you look at the sun and did you see what happened to the sun that caused the twilight in the middle of the day".

He just says again that it was dark, which we all perfectly understood already from the OP, no, correction, from the thread title.

All i see is some underexposed picture, not even of the same place as the one before, with no exif data, and the OP can't even make up a reasonable story to go with the picture "proof". I would have found something good enough, like "gee, i looked up at the sun, but it was kinda cloudy, so i couldn't tell exactly if the sun was being obstructed by something else than the cloud". Ooor, "i looked up but couldn't see the sun because it was behind a mountain/house/whatever".

About the pictures, anyone with a camera and/or photoshop can produce tons of those. Even better ones, like, lets say, of the same landscape and not cropped.

Does a change in magnetic fields make people more prone to posting fakes stories on ATS then?

okay I can imagine that if there is an object in space orbiting the earth.. it wil make an shadow very small located on earth...

the time the shadows falls will say something about the speed of it.. and if it coverd the sun ometing about the size of it... how big is the sun seen from the surface???? 1cm? half a cm. ???

Think about the moon and an eclipse. That will shed light on some of your thoughts.

I know exactly what you mean. About 7-8 years ago i was playing tennis with friends in the south of England. It was a beautiful bright sunny day, with not a cloud in the sky. Then out of nowhere the sun just disappeared for about 2 seconds. It was absolute darkness. when the light returned i though maybe a low flying plane had crossed the path of the sun, but there was no plane, no clouds, no eclipse. I was maybe 12-13 at the time and have had an interest in UFO's and un terrestrial beings since i was maybe 10. It genuinly scared me. the three people i was with tried to make out that it was somesort of eclipse but thought different. I have never spoke about it because wats the point when no one would believe you. Im glad to know that im not the only one who thought this was weird. but there was deffinatly somthing sinister about the occurance. Thanks for posting mate, i feel a bit better now.

With the conflict with Georgia/Russia, the boys in black were firing up HAARP weaponry again. The high levels of EMF can bend sunlight which can explain the brief periods of dark or light. Just wait and see, the Ruskies will be experiencing the lovely sideffects of EMF terawatts beemed at them real soon!
