"Georgia's Economic Development Minister Ekaterina Sharashidze said on Saturday."
Reuters should know better than to rely on him as a source when hes on the opposing side of the conflict and all statements he makes will be to make the other side (Russia) look bad.
Without independent verification, which I can find none, then this statement is no more than hearsay and propaganda.
Russian migs would NOT miss an oil pipeline.
And of course he says they missed because, if he said they hit then everyone would call him a liar because the oil company's would verify it wasn't hit.

I can guarantee Georgia is getting a lot of Sattelite coverage right now. I bet every country that has the capability is taking a peak. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a stealth version of the Predator in country right now(I know the Predator is pretty stealthy).

It goes back to what Colin Powell said "You break it, you own it" kind of thing. The West has had their fingers in the jars of a lot of countries spread around the globe pedelling influence. But I think the West is pushing too hard and now the other side is pushing back. I mean come on, the U.S is enganged in 2 wars right now and contemplating a 3rd. That's making a lot of other countries nervous. Could you blame them if the tables were reversed and Russian and Chinese influence ruled the world. And this type of stuff was happening in your backyard. I think you'd be pushing back too.

It time for everybody to take a step back, take a deep breath and really think through the consequences of their actions. More bloodshed and world economic callapse really worth the short term gains these wars are going to achieve.

Take a chill pill countries of the world.

And on topic maybe the Russian aircraft bombed saboteurs heading for the pipeline. As I said at the start I'm sure Russia has great coverage of Georgia and is probably flying surveillance drones of their own. Because as has been said before they wouldn't have missed the pipeline.

Or it's Georgian propaganda to get USA involved...
That's my take on it anyway. Russian jets wouldn't miss a darn oil pipeline - not like it has wings or tracks.

Plus, even if they did miss somehow.. you'd come back for another hit wouldn't you? Now all we need is the false flag 'jet shooting up the pipeline' and it's sorted.. hehehe.

Hey guys, how possible would it have been for a Georgian fighter or bomber to have dropped a payload near that pipeline, then have a camera man take snapshots of the damage the bombs did and simply point a finger at Russia saying it was the Russian airforce? Could Georgia theoreticaly get away with something like this? I personaly can picture them going to any lengths to drag NATO or the US into the fight since that's their only hope.

Regards,
Maestro

I agree, if the Russians wanted to hit the pipline they would have.
End of story. More propaganda on Gerorgias part.

Welcome to war.

Propaganda will be everywhere, on all sides.

As has been said several times already: if Russia wanted to hit it, they'd hit it. They've got highly trained pilots and the weapons to do it.

I can't find the footage of the news reporters who were targeted earlier today. The guy hit the spot where they had been standing not 30 seconds earlier as they filmed him turning around to shoot at them. Had they not run, it would have been a direct hit.

What actually caused this to escalate so quickly? I heard that Georgia had started killing people in South Ossetia. Was that the reason the Russians moved in?
