Iridium is a fleet of telephone satellites put up in the 80s and 90s for satellite phone service.

They went out of business and somebody bought them but they are just a bunch of little phone satellites with antennas in low earth orbit.

That is really a lovely post and it would be nice if the world did have the peace and love and a raised conciousness of brotherhood and psycic understanding. I was especially intrigued by the Myan reference as I believe in the Myan calander and what you describe there is something like I expect to happen on that winter solstice 2012. For the purpose of this thread however, my skeptisism remains, and it sounds just a little like "only the chosen will see it, and if you think you felt or experienced something, that was it. If you didn't feel/see something your aren't spiritually ready" I could go on but you get the picture.
When nothing has happened in a few days I'll keep believe and hoping for that undeniable proof.

In south Alabama right now, it's so overcast you can barely tell what direction the moon is in, but no clouds show on Google earth or Worlwinds?

OK, well, I've been reading all your posts over the last day and a half, and swore to myself I wasn't going to register, or even reply anonymously.
I have betrayed myself. Darn it all. Darn it all to heck! Yeah....

So, just wanted to give a hoot from northern Michigan, (about 900 miles, roughly 1450km, north of Alabama, U.S.A.) and say that up here in "Betty Crockersville", we usually get a pair of F22s flying from North to South over our home twice a week, and about once or twice a month, a black military helicopter that goes the same path. Today, however, from around 16:00 until now, 22:00, we have had about six or seven aircraft in the skies above, moving at a much faster clip than the usual.

Very strange, IMHO. I, too, am one of the "F5" crew, watching throughout the night, sadly. I am not banking on aliens, per se, but I think the possibility of *something* happening on the October 14th date is pretty believable, considering the state of world affairs in the areas of politics, economy and religion, so, we'll see. Just thought I'd let you all know there's eyes on the skies in Michigan.

Hey, I do the morning Tai Chi and drink a cuppa espresso...... what else is there to do then besides surf Wunderground and ATS?

I suppose I should check out the other known objects -- the satellites, but I was thinking that folks would be able to figure out a moving light as a satellite. I thought in these heightened times, perhaps someone in S. Alabama might see a exceptionally bright irridum flare and phreak.

No i am sure if they are out there they can tap into our web via the satalites and are able to gain any info they want.
