He completely avoids the question.

What a joke

"I've recieved every award in America from veterans"

...i guess...so that means you dont have to answer the question.

My favorite part

Veteran: "[McCain] Does not have a perfect voting record in America for veteran affairs"

Whats better is that he doesnt have all of what he claims.

A little bit of googling of what the questioneer points out in this video, and you get to see how big of a liar mccain really is.

Most veterans hate mccain.

He uses them as political pawns much the way he uses modern troops.

Theres no doubt about McCain's military career. It's been in the spot light more than long enough to dig out every little dusty skeleton thats in there. Thing is there really arent too many skeletons.

He served his country with dignity. Liberals can dig all they want, you wont find anything.

I have serious doubts about your claim that "most veterans hate McCain".

2 Questions:

1) Do you have any proof that most veterans hate McCain?

2) Do all your posts simply consist of youtube displays of Olbermann? Not exactly the least biased of sources.

Who's digging? Do i need to remind you of the link to the derailment page?

They're not questioning his military record, are you really seriously saying that they are?

Because....i mean i know it pains you to watch the video and all, but this is about mccains political career.

You'd know that if you actually watched it

Like Bush to McCain the troops and veterans are props, unless they are rich political contributors.

The man is, like most politicians, shameless.

In all honestly McCain was once my favorite Republican. Although I did not agree with a lot of what he was doing in office I still had a shred of respect for the man.

Too bad the maverick sold out, now he is just a shill.

I think you need to do a little more analysis of the link you linked me to about derailment. I am offering a different opinion, which in fact is on topic. You don't like that fact that someones posting factual information. As I said before, ill let the mods decide as im contacting them right after this post.

You can't expect to make multiple threads full of lies and slander and not get corrected in terms of factual information. But again, the verdict is out in terms of violation.

You are becoming quite hostile when this is the place for healthy debate. You accuse me of not watching a video i've seen 3-4 times and I do not take kindly to that.

You're right. Its a broad generalization. My apologies.......

its a generalization based off of all of the following:

McCain attacks vets

Lets cut more funding - John McCain

Vietnam Veterans against John McCain

(the video i posted in the OP)

McCain assaults the family member of a vietnam veteran

2) Do all your posts simply consist of youtube displays of Olbermann? Not exactly the least biased of sources.

1.) No they dont all consist of videos. BUt would you rather me issue a link, with a description so you can go load the youtube video? They're videos for discussion. if you dont like discussing them - go to another thread

2.) Would you rather me post completely emotionless material for discussion? How about we talk about what kind of toilet paper John McCain perfers?

Does he like the smell of his wife's perfume?

What grocery store does he frequent?

It doesnt matter if its a right wing or left wing source, what matters is the facts contained within the article its self. If you doubt those facts, you can do your own background work and post your own video to debunk it. Then we can call it a right wing video, much the way you are bashing this one for being left wing.

However, those facts are not debunkable. I have an opinion based on the facts of this video.

You have an opinion based on the premise of the political career of the person who made the video.

Worlds of difference, IMO.

not once have you "corrected" anything and yet you continue to post off topic

way to go cowboy. Way to go

Do you have anything to contribute to this discussion?

Or....are we just going to have to put another troll on ignore?

Big deal, there a plenty of vets for McCain as well.

Vets For McCain

Vets For Freedom - The guys putting up a few million bucks to finance a pro_McCain ad

Plus, since I am a vet and a son of a vet I should know that most vets aren't IN one of these groups so they really don't paint any kind of reasonable picture.

Some like him, some don't, but the proof has yet to be furnished supporting your claim.

Voters who have served in the U.S. military favor John McCain over Barack Obama by a 56% to 37% margin.

This data, from a Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, is based upon interviews with 3,000 Likely Voters, including 588 voters who have served in the military. Voters with no military service favor Obama 50% to 43%.

Guess the veterans do hate McCain. Just kidding.

Hey!! Now you're finally learning how to discuss the original topic. Kudos for you.

Yeah - some vets do support mccain.

Just like some vets support Obama.

Is it a non-issue? Well. that depends on who you talk to.

Personally - i think its something to be concerned with when you go and actually read all these things i've posted, and find out there's really big organizations (not just little get togethers) who despise mccain for his complete lack of veteran support.

McCain couldnt answer this vietnam veterans question at all.

Its hilarious too: McCain boasts this guy up on a pedestal because of the hat he's wearing, then can't even give him the common courtesy for a straight forward answer.

I guess that goes hand in hand with McCains early on promises of "Straight talk" and his bus the "straight talk express"....right?

BUT thats just me. Im not even a veteran and i think vets get treated like crap.

...but since you don't, and you're a vet, i guess that makes me wrong?

Whatever helps ya sleep at night

You are right, vets do get treated like crap (by the VA) and its an ongoing issue. McCain hasn't completely lacked in the arena, most votes against them was due to earmarks being attached. I would dig up a link but I would prefer originality over such thing.

1) I don't support McCain

2) I'm a vet and my father's a vet (who does support McCain) and we don't get treated like crap, however there's nothing wrong with us so we don't ask the VA for anything.

We work jobs and pay our own bills. Fancy that.

3) I don't agree with many Republicans on the treatment of disabled vets, but to be honest with you it's a lot better in many respects, but not good enough.

Increasing funding is not the only way to improve a problem though.

Do you honestly know 100% that every legislation McCain voted against that would have benefited veterans only contained legislation for the veterans. I know Congress is very good at adding fine print and this might also be a reason many Senators vote against some bills. Just curious.

Huh? I would prefer to be shown how the assertion that McCain dumps on wounded vets has a legitimate excuse. Forgive me if it seems passe but proving ones statements means a LOT to me.

So tell me mate, where is the proof that McCain votes AGAINST supporting wounded vets due to earmarks?

Thanks in advance

Mccain is cooked the only people hanging on are die hard republicans who would vote for him no matter what .
To their dismay every time Mccain opens his mouth he puts his foot in it .
Obama has the lead now and come the debates Obama's msg will ring loud and clear and Mccain will be reduced to a wind bag with his foot in his mouth.
Too many times has Mccain made bungling errors. while Obama smooth talked his way over his few errors. thats the difference and its a huge one.

you're serious right?

So you're telling me - your form of originality is not backing up what you have to say?

Wow. What logical thoughts you have.

Here on ATS - debate is encouraged. if you bring nothing to the table but your own ideas and nothing to back them up - you're gona make a fool of yourself.

Care to post a link to your wild and whacky assertions?
Or......no?

I agree.

I have serious doubts that McCain can really pull it off. I mean let's be real, part of the great part about Obama is there really isn't much meat to work with so the sharks have a very hard time. Plus, yes, he is a good speaker. I saw him on the View today (don't ask) and he was very comfortable.

This is why Hillary was a poorer candidate. Too much baggage. Same with McCain. He has TONS of history in government to distort, misread, or even take at face value depending on who's doing it.

I'm a seriously pissed off Republican who saw hope ONLY in Ron Paul, but alas that didn't happen and we are stuck with McCain.

I guess it's back to independent again for me.
