improvement? Ah. Like when a city decides that a neighborhood isn't pulling it weight in taxes so they tear it down and force people out of their homes to rebuild it into a "nicer neighborhood" of more expensive houses that will gather a greater tax base?

I see. How is that an improvement for those who are turned into indentured servants or serfs? I suppose people like a whip on their back?

Wow.. REALLY?

In the United States, if you have more money then you have more tax breaks. Why start a revolution? Why would you choose mindlessness, and conformity over the prospect of a better country, and consequently a better world if the people who are running the show in this country are put out of power? I'm not saying that I know who is running the show here. I know it's not me, and thankfully not you; I also know that whomever they are, they are doing a terrible job. And yes, I do think I could do better. Also, what do you mean by "revolution?"

Also a long time lurker about to throw his 2 cents in.

To start, I agree with Slothrop in almost every point he makes. Where we differ, however, is HOW pulling everything under one roof, as it were, is being done.

*points up*
That's our destiny folks and, like it or not, the only way we'll survive long enough to fulfill it is to put our poop in a group and start acting like global citizens instead of tribal half-monkies. The alternatives are a sure slide to a dead and forgotten civilization that didn't make it.

Comments like the previous "We like our individualism" are silly. What, boarders are going to suddenly vanish if we come under one planet wide government? The U.S. itself is a smaller example of different regions under one central government, although I think the current incarnations are in dire need of an extreme throttling and smacking around.

I digress, the point of difference is corruption, greed and power (AKA Current day Fascism) are the apparent driving force behind the push to a NWO, that's what I have a beef with.

Unfortunately, how it should be and how it really is are on about opposite sides of the spectrum. That's why, while I agree with Slothrop almost on all key points, my desire for revolution is strong..that's just how I'm made. I'm Ex Military and I've always felt I was born to fight the good fight, a personally held view. So I wait for the day I may be called to sacrifice myself, not for my country, but more importantly the principals it was founded on. IMHO it's better to fight and die for those principals, than to meekly submit and watch the world slide into, if anything, something resembling a world half Blade Runner and half V for Vendetta.

The very things that keep the greedy and corrupt in power are what necessitate revolution to pull it down from time to time. As the great Thomas Jefferson said:

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Rarely have truer words been spoken. The question is when is the right time for the refresh? Who throws that first stone? What event is THE one that really start that ball rolling? The longer you let corruption and greed fester, the harder and longer it takes to root out...as it always has. Let us not forget the fascists of WWII and how they came into their power. It's a cycle, a cycle we've been repeating since the dawn of civilization.

People, we're hardly out of the trees as it is. In the last 100 years alone we've gone to riding horses and farming to having the ability to land on the Moon and Mars and, oh yes, the ability to pretty much destroy the planet for all intents and purposes in any number of colorful and interesting ways.

We're incredibly curious, smart, and very very primitive all at the same time. Whether or not we make it and no matter what 'path' we travel down, we're all in for a hell of a ride!

Hat's off to you sir. You would make Carl proud.

Good boy, good boy..maybe, if you're really, really nice, the system will throw you a biscuit
lol, god, they've really beaten the collectivist mindset into you, haven't they? my POV is not silly, it's a POV of a free thinker as opposed to class slave. I value my uniqueness; I was born in this place, at the time I was, for a reason. and so were you. I don't give up my individualism for some nonsensical greater good. Without free thinkers, the united states would not exist.

In response to the last poster... NO!!

If the GOVERNMENT gave everyone a million dollars all that would happen is prices would rise.

Whereas if a bill gates type did it prices would not rise.

the difference being when the gov gives people money they PRINT the money to give them

money from bill gates is already in the economy therefore it wouldn't cause prices to rise except by profiteers and etc looking to rape whoever they can.

Whereas the bill and miranda gates foundation just like warren Buffett's foundation are both a mechanism for said parties to hold onto their wealth and even generate more wealth while maintaining a tax exempt status.

Do yourself a favor and rather than making yourself look stupid read up on the tax codes of non profit orgs sometimes and on the accounting concepts that make it profitable for nearly every wealthy family to have a charitable foundation that they use as a holding pool for assets to avoid paying taxes. Because here's a helpful hint the ford foundation the rothschilds rockefellers and the carnegie's were ALL implicated in funding the medical experimentation on prisoners in nazi germany through their non profit and charitable foundations!!!

and you think that these same people are the fittest to rule the world?

No, that's wrong. If everyone would millionaires, people would just buy a lot of things, and prices across the table would rise with the sudden event of everyone just becoming millionaires. There will always be the poor, and the price of things will rise to make sure of that. Bread prices would rise from whatever they are now to something much higher.

So, Nazi charity functions might have been ran by the state, which would make sense for them. So, you're saying that Melinda and Bill are doing medical experimentation on people without any proof?

Slothrop,
I'm sorry to say but you got "OWNED" by most of the responses here. You got served, punked, delivered, handed it to you, and so on.

There's billions more reasons this is a bad idea compared to the dozen or so reasons its good.

Why dont you google or youtube Aaron Russo's interview about his meetings with the rothschilds....basically they admitted to him that the purpose of the Illuminati controlled one world Gov is to enslave the world into a classless cashless society with everyone being monitored by accepting the chip.

The kicker: This is everything the Bible predicts will happen in the last days in Ezekial, Daniel, and Revelations.

Coincidence? Not to me

Sorry man...but your alone with this and Im sure you'll love it when all these things are taking place.

Where, exactly, does it say that living under one government makes you give up your personal, or cultural, individuality? So, we should just, what? Live in anarchy? In so many warring factions that we'll be lucky if we don't kill ourselves off? Enlighten us with something a bit more substantial than ad hominem attacks and vague statements about how working together equals being a mindless drone.

There will be no massive revolution. I do see a few states bailing on the whole Union idea. We are all too fat and lazy to be forced marched 200 miles to fight for Utah.

There's a big difference between coming together out of necessity for the greater good of the world, and being coaxed/misled into coming together for the greater good of a few people.

HUGE DIFFERENCE!

useless hyperbole. advances no argument. similar to when one steroid injecting wwf wrestler makes a promo threatening another roided up wrestler, only half as elegant.

HA HA HA HA HA HA russo has never spoken to a member of the rothschild "bloodline" in his life, unless he was serving them food or something in his night job as a waiter. if the rothschild family cared enough to sue him for this misrepresentation his great great great great grandchildren would be paying the interest on the settlement.

The kicker: This is everything the Bible predicts will happen in the last days in Ezekial, Daniel, and Revelations.

the kicker? there is no god and the bible is a literary work of varying degrees of quality. (ezekiel and daniel are both excellent, revelations is terrible)

none of these things are going to take place, my friend. you are very much mistaken about what the unified world is going to look like.

You say that you you are taken aback by the angst and unrest. Well that seems to be (based on reading your posts) due to that you really don't mind a dictatorship form of government. In fact you seem to like the idea. Dictators work great when you have a good dictator. However, when you have a bad one they turn out really bad. So perhaps what you fail to see is that the vast majority of people actually hate monarchies and dictatorships and love democracy. They have lots of angst and unrest due to their democracies weakening substantially.

Furthermore, you don't seem to mind the idea of not being able to move out of a country that you believe sucks. One government obviously means you can never move out, regardless of how horrible things are for you. However, the vast majority of people believe its a great idea to be able to have multiple countries. If one of those countries legal system is oppressing you, you can try moving to another one. Most people love that idea.

Does that help you understand?

Nicely put, I had to star it.

People will never accept one ruler, people will always want a choice, whether or not the ruler is benovelent, s/he is not for everyone.

To the OP: I think you're not the one understanding the conditions that will have to take place for such a government to exist. Millions....maybe billions would have to die first before such a government came into power, and even than, no democracy could exist as the "President" of the world would be nothing more than a dictator.

You would have to have some Religious aspects in your scenario for it to exist.

To quote you're earlier post:

"If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to hide."

That's ignorance, if someone was talking about trying to tear down the oppresive government, are they right or wrong? At some point, the party/ family/ Elites in charge will clamp down on any anti-governement talk.

Another point in which I diverge from OP. Believing the idea that "Done no wrong, nothing to hide." is one more step towards an Orwellian world. No thanks. History has pretty much proven the outcome of such policies. Such measures are almost always enacted by those who realize that if the public ever really caught on, and rose up, they would be hung from lamp posts.

Do you like the fact that people are getting killed because your precious elite are trying to make more money?

Do you like having exactly 0 privacy?

Do you like being told how to live your life?

Do you enjoy being told which substances you are allowed to put in your body?

Do you like being told which substances will be put into your body whether you like it or not?

Do you like the fact that elections are rigged so that the guy who wants to kill brown people for oil can certainly be elected?

Do you like having your kids brainwashed in gov't sponsored training camps?

Do you like watching your paycheck get hacked to pieces for the welfare of some lazy slob, before you even see it?

If you answered yes to any of these questions there is a good chance that you are simply SHEEPLE.

I cant say it better than that. Makes me wanna get some people together and march right up to the white house with some guns.

People are free, we should not be forced to come together under a false banner of unification just so the 1% of poppulation can maintain their stranglehold on society. Sickening.

Good post downtown, you earned a star from me!

Who gets to decide when people need assistance? not the people in need of assistance to be sure.

legalize heroin? hell no. if the government legalizes it they can't make all that money off it illegally!

sure taxation is a form of slavery. and some forms of slavery can be tolerated. and if we're conditioned to expect and even enjoy the slavery, that's fine too.

the problem comes when a person who no longer enjoys the slavery is destroyed for the good of the masses. and that's all great, until it's YOU.

Indeed, with the 190-some countries in this world of varying power, the balance is there. If an American leader hears things going against the US from a Russian leader, do you think that leader could be silenced? Maybe, but the Russians wouldnt' take it lying down.

HOWEVER, in a One-World scenario ran by Elites, they can do whatever the hell the fell like, say something against them? BANG! Dead....you have no military to respond with. With all the military under a single leader, than you're out of luck.
