Perhaps some people are now threatening him?

It just seems humorous to me that many here on ATS seem to think that the credibility of Mitchells story is somehow related to the number of times it appears in the media. It's almost like, "Wow! He was on Larry King! It must be true!".
It still goes back to the fact that he offered only hearsay, rumors, and 2nd hand stories. By his own admission he has not seen any aliens. Why is he willing to believe a massive Government conspiracy based only on 2nd hand information?
Sorry if my feeble attempts at humor offended any of you or your belief systems.

It is kinda a big deal actually. Some people make a living off of selling people books about aliens. If you're retired, and former air force or astronaut you can easily make some extra poker money selling books about aliens. Everyone will take your word for it. I don't see why everyone assumes former pilots and astronauts aren't capable of lying.

He was just on Fox and Friends and really seemed to back off his statements. He started attributing a lot of what he said to "lore" and backed off ever seeing or hearing anything. He kept basing it on "lore".
