Are you having dreams that are stranger than normal?

Like many of the others here I'm a lucid dreamer, when my dreams start to turn into nightmares I usually can stop them and change things to be how I want them. My dreams are usually fairly strange and vivid but not bad.

Lately two things have been weird about my dreams: almost every dream I've had has centered around a road or a freeway, or the road or freeway has played a very large part in the dream, and a few nights ago I had a dream that felt like a recurring dream but probably wasn't, in which another person in the dream told me it wasn't a dream. I laughed at that and said "whatever, I'll just wake up" and when I tried to lucid dream and have myself wake up I couldn't. The person said "That won't work, this isn't a dream" and I tried it again and couldn't again. The dream went on for a while but eventually I did wake up, shook my head and went back to bed for more weird dreams about freeways.

So myself and a few others aren't the only ones having these dreams. Mine have been taking place vividly now for two years and they have seemed to start at the end and scroll backwards. Very scary in that I and a small group of people are constantly moving through what's left of michigan. My wife is the only person I can identify and It started with us parked along side a freeway in a traffic jam and suddenly a huge multi colored triangle appears over head in the sky, it's actually beautiful but I can sense it's not good and we run. all the dreams in between we are running and hiding until we find a group of people living in a semi secure group arrangement "survivors". They can tell we mean them no harm and invite us in to a warm welcome. I assist in protecting their perimeter due to my former military training. The threat appears in a military/police type bus load of men with no country or organisation and no one to give them orders any more, I won't let them enter because they mean these good people that let us in harm and I have to terminate them on the spot..This is ugly and repugnant to me but has to be done. In all these dreams? visions "we" are seeing has to have some connection. I have a buddy who confided in me about his "tornado" dreams like the ones I read here. We will see and it gives me hope because I know I won't be the last nice guy left...

Hey all, i havn't posted on ATS for years but this topic really hit home. For the past 3 or so weeks i've been having really intense dreams, stuff that i never dream about, stuff that nightmares are made of. Each one ends with the apocalypse of earth! Now these really scare me as i have them so often and they are the most real dreams i've ever felt, I don't regularly read about the end of the world theories/conspiracies so how this gets in my dreams is beyond me. I think something VERY BAD is going to happen, don't ask me specific dates but i know its going to be pretty soon-ish....

I can't tell if it's because I read too much ATS, but last night and many other nights I've been having "armaggedon" like dreams. Primarily last night was the total collapse of the economy combined with destruction. The night before I have a vivid flying dream which might have been a lucid dream, not sure. But my dreams have definately been bad lately.

haha this is so weird. I was actually debating whether i should start my first thread because my dream last night was so weird that i wanted to get input on it. Now that this thread exists i'll share my dream since it won't be off topic.

In my dream last night i found a "crystal" in a river by my house. It seemed like a form of quartz crystal. When light struck it it was very colorful. What was really odd about it was it was "immaculate". When i say immaculate i mean that it seemed polished and there was no dirt, or remains of rock along it's exterior or interior. It was very transparent. It was also a hexahedron. (possibly a cube). Upon closer inspection i realized that there were other "cubes" inside of it.
(i think three) with each "cube" inside of the next, progressively getting smaller.

In the dream a bring it to my friends father. Who works for the government. I ask him to have it checked out for me. When i return to reclaim it and inquire as to the findings. He tells me it's just a plastic trinket. Handing me back a trinket that is certainty not the object i gave to him.

I love topics about dreams. especially when I feel my mind is only sick and twisted in dreamland.

Any one who analyzes dreams could probably guess from the next few examples that my normal dream pattern is one where i'm portrayed as being inadequate in some way. Some form of feeling a lack of confidence or something along those sorts.

Examples:
A) I'm riding motorcycles with my friends only my motorcycle has pedals.
B) It's an emergency and I'm dialing a push button payphone only I can't seem to get the # right and have to keep dialing... never completing a call.
C) I'm running away from something/someone and no matter how fast I move my legs the distance I go is practically nothing.

Now, the "ab"normal dreams. I've had several of these in the past couple years and even from the first one I've documented and even turned into a short stories... and no I probably won't share them... I hate my writing style.

I'll share the first dream, not the story.. it's the oddest.

WARNING: Graphic.

I'm in a hospital room. I'm in the corner, sort-of... I am only an observer (mostly). I can't seem to move or speak in any way.

The room is a delivery room. There are two nurses and the doctor present. There is a bed and all the "instruments" for child delivery.

There is a woman. My "wife" as dreams play out. Only she isn't on the bed and I don't recognize the face in my awake state. She's setting in the floor, arms behind her holding up her torso, her legs spread and knees up. I can see her from the side. She's screaming but I don't hear the words.

The baby is coming. She's still in the floor. The doctor has gone, but both nurses are there and they are performing the delivery. One nurse in between my wife's legs and she reaching in quite violently for the baby. She screams again but still no sound. The nurses are laughing and I can hear them distinctly.

The nurse is yanking at the baby inside. Pulling and tugging without any remorse. I see tears on the cheeks of my wife. Still soundless screams. The other nurse is behind my wife, her arms wrapped under my wifes and she's pulling the opposite of the other.

The baby is finally out and there's a trail of cord reaching back into my wife. who now looks relieved.

The delivery nurse lays the child in the floor; grabs the cord like she's playing tug of war and begins to forcibly yank the cord from the body. The scene gets entirely gruesome now. I can clearly hear sounds of ripping and tearing flesh. It's a sound I can't really remove from my head even to this day. One nurse pulling the cord, the other pulling my wife from her arms.

There is blood. LOTS of blood. It's the only "color" in the dream i remember. The delivery nurse is more red than white on her nurses dress. There is blood spatter on her face. Both nurses are laughing hysterically now like it's a game. My wife still silently screams.

The blood is squirting in spurts but in a quantity like 10 water guns being shot onto the nurse at once.. all with crimson red fluid.

Still the nurses laugh, the ripping and tearing sounds persist, and the screams with no sound.

Finally the delivery nurse falls back onto her butt and I can see the placenta in the floor and it's covered in little treble hooks (fishing) and lying in a huge puddle of blood. I gag.

The other nurse is now completely covered in blood too. both are. even their faces are completely red. My wife is nothing but a bloody body it seems. The two nurses laugh crazily and begin running their hands all over their faces and blood soaked dresses.. They look at me... They laugh AT me enjoying it.

I am in horror through the whole scene. I'm disgusted and afraid. I look at my wifes face and she looks directly into my eyes and mouths "I love you."

I snapped awake instantly. Within a few seconds i spoke involuntarily to an empty room, the words, "Oh my god, I was in hell."

This dream still scares me along with the ones that came after.

I had a very disturbing dream last night myself...so you are warned

I dremt that I was standing in a room with no doors or windows, and the only other person in the room was a small child. I can't remember whether the child was a boy or a girl, nor did I recognize him/her. I just knew it was a kid. I picked up a metal pole, like a tiny flagpole basically, and stuck it in the child's throat.

For those of you ATSers who know a thing or two about dreams, does murder usually symbolically represent something or am I a crazed soon-to-be looney murderer?

I've been having reccurring dreams. It happens about two times a year. I started having these dreams about 5 years ago. In the dreams i'm in an outdoor environment with my family, then we hear military aircrafts that are passing by so we look up, and when we do all I see is a bomb coming down, but it doesn't reach the ground, but every year it seems like it's getting closer and it's getting me really scared.

Just saw this topic and come to mention it Ive been having very strange dreams as of late. Last night I had about 7 or 8 dreams but two of them really stuck in my mind.

One was that I saw an ex-girlfriend near where I live and we were talking for awhile then she said she was going to a party in an area not too far from where I live but she went the wrong way. Somehow I knew she was lost and could see her walking across a huge plain sort of like the serengeti in africa. the strangest thing is this place where she was lost was just past an area in Dublin called Terenure. I walked out on the plain and saw footprints which I followed then I came to a dual carriage way where one lane was stopped. I walked down this road and saw loads of people standing on the path. I walked up and then there was a body on the road that was about 7 feet tall accompanied by several others on the grass beside the path. I was shocked to see everyone laughing about it and then my all i heard was " Make sure you don't get hit by a bus" I turned around and saw my brother was the one who had said it. I walked back to where I was looking for my ex and found her sitting nest to a tree?

Then the second one was about the same ex but I was hanging around with her and all her mates in a closed shopping center???

Is there anyone who can interpret dreams on this site???

There is a great website: mythsdreamssymbols.com. It has a very large dream dictionary, maybe you can find the meaning of your dreams in that site. You know yourself better than anybody.

yeah, dude. several dreams i've had either involve shapeshifting, government facilities, or some combination of the two. those dreams feel more real than waking life. i do know what's going on, but certain people won't like me telling you about the government crap. the shapeshifting is real. i wake up after wing dreams and feel like something is growing next to my shoulderblades. i wake up after wolf dreams and feel like killing something and eating it. and trail running nude on all fours. when i get to running speed, i get this determined feeling that is not mine. i feel like i can just fly off and leave everyone in my wake. explain that.

hey, it's me again. my theory on intense dreams is this.
in waking life, we are just people. in dreams, we are free. dreams can be used as a form of astral travel (although have no control over where i go when i go to sleep). intense dreams usually have aftereffects because they actually happen, and the # that happens in the dream might be the same # someone else sees in their dream. for example, a friend at camp (i'll call him dave) is in a program called black ops. that's where the govt. takes kids age 14-16, trains them with guys from the SEALs, RECON, and Delta Force, and augments them, not unlike the SPARTAN-IIs in Halo. he got me into the program, and several days later i had a dream of an obstacle course, a run, and a knife fight. a couple nights afterwards there was a dream of a government facility. large brick building, like a hospital/prison. me and dave were in the same room, we had halo 3 and a duck hunt gun, and we took turns blasting brutes to kingdom come. this dream was incredibly realistic.

This is very strange to me.
For the past few weeks, my dreams have been much stranger than usual, and much more vivid and easy to remember.
It is quite weird reading all of these similar posts, also...

One of the most startling dreams I had occurred a few days ago, and even involves this forum!

This dream, unfortunately for me, was the type of dream that felt extremely real and disturbing.
I walked into my backyard, and it was daylight outside. I was enjoying the weather, until I looked up... and saw a hovering UFO in the sky, close enough for me to see quite well.

Because I think this is actually happening, I'm very startled...but decide to grab my cell phone to take pictures (to show you guys, hahah)
Right as I did this... this particular UFO does some kind of super sonic wave blast towards me, knocking my cell out of my hand, and causing me to stumble to the ground as the UFO disappears into the sky.

Now, this is where it gets even more disturbing...
Something CHANGED inside of me. I was filled with this uncontrollable rage.
I could feel my eyes pulsing with pressure, and my muscles felt extremely tense.
Then, suddenly, I jumped up... and began to float! I could actually control gravity.
But it was short lived..and I fell to the ground.
Suddenly, I felt like I was back to "normal"... I was so frightened by this (keep in mind, I still think this is reality) that I had to post on ATS about my horrifying experience.

I'd also like to mention that I've never had a dream where I could "fly" or anything like that. I've also never seen a UFO in any of my dreams.
But, many months prior to this, I did dream that I was hit by some supernatural beam of something.
It felt like my soul was being ripped from my body.

Gahhh, it just gives me chills to think about it...

i think i've seen that before in the government program dreams. don't know what it does, but it's important. i'll find out more.

i also remember things i'm not supposed to. like, flying a P-51 mustang in wwII. and entering a secret government facility.....hey, WHAT THE #!! that's what it was. hey, alex/bvproductions, i think i saw your cube thing in the complex. just realized what it was. like i said earlier, i'll keep you posted.

anybody heard of operation sacred freedom? more to come on this (not supposed to tell anyone, but here i'm, like, hard to track).

so it happening... finally...
well... I have had similar dreams... not recently tho... bout 5 years ago... I had a dream that a fly... carried a virus... (I was 9... I hardly knew flies even had diseases...) and that if it touched you... you would turn into a evil alien like thing... but you still looked human... I quickly grabbed a gun (of which I somehow knew how to use XD) and then I ran out the door cause my parents aso got touched... I found 2 mercanery type people willing to drive me outta there... and they got touched... I killed them and started running down the freeway... and ducked thru a bush and found this like ufo... ( I didn't know what ufo even ment) and Ialso saw a fat kid (what do you expect... I was 9 XD) he had no role whatso ever... and I shot the aliens... then./.. I wok up... XD dang I cant spell tonight... but ya... seemed suiting to post... only government part was on the news... that none of my family ever watches.... and we didn't even live in the house we are now in and I dreamt we were here O.o so ya... thats the freaky part... a premonition of my next house XD but ya... funny part... I didn't get scared... and I was a bit older... how strange yes? and it happened before I was 9 too ... thats just the closest I remember...

I often have dreams where some invisible force lifts me up above my hous and drops me from about 10,000 feet. I can feel the breeze whipping by my face and can not scream during the entire horrifying journey. I will crash through the ceiling of my bedroom and wake up a split second before hitting my bed. There's been a few instances where I would literally bounce when I woke up, or I could visually see that I was floating about 6 feet above my bed and would slam face first into the sheets as soon as I was fully awake.

I also have vivid dreams about a paralyzing black figure in a hooded robe of some type. I get a few glimpses at it before I find myself unable to open my eyes. These dreams always make me wake up screaming. And as my mum will attest, I even screamed in my sleep during one such dream with this black figure.

I will also half wake in the middle of the night and find myself pinned against my bedroom wall or ceiling. I can distinctly feel a pair of hands on my back, but I can't see the figure holding me where I may be, even when I turn my head. I believe these to be more reality and less dreams, since I have a stain on the drywall about 5 feet up my bedroom wall where in a terrified state of fear, I began peeing uncontrollably, trying to cry out for help.

Has anyone here experienced dreams like these... if so PLEASE HELP!!!
I am 24 years old and terrified to go to sleep on some nights. I shouldn't have such intense fear of the dark, but I do.

every once in a while I feel like im freefalling and I HIT something and bounce like one foot into the air in my bed.... its nice and cool atleast
but its really weird... I cant move even tho im semi awake during the time... I can think... but thats it...
