Well speaking from experience, I was stabbed and slashed 4 times with machetes, almost died blaa blaa blaa. I think it's a ridicules idea. I also collect knives and I'm hoping to get a few Masonic swords in the future as well. Whats next disposable cameras, they make great tazzers.

This story and the many more around the world reminds me of the frog in the pot of water anoligy. Well this frog ain't getting in the pot.

Completed The Witcher....anyway,yes silly idea...typical headline grabber...much like the *take criminals who stab people to ER and let them see the victims....ok..* Anyway we should be tougher on crimes of all sorts and start from a young age to educate better...only way things are going to get better...

Instead of taking the point off the knive , drive the point of knives into the kids at school. ( not literally) By teaching them it ain't cool or tough to have a knive, its a cowards way of trying to intimidate someone.

id agree a knife is a tool and they can be very handy, when lacking a screw driver ive been able to use a pen knife, opening things, cutting rope, cable ties, a gun on the other hand i wouldnt classify as a tool it only has 1 purpose to launch a projectile at high speeds to hurt,kill,maim or destroy something

I had to look, but I managed to find a knife without a point.
I wanted one I would not accidentally kill myself with.
I attached it to my life jacket so I could cut line, in case I got tangled while up side down in my kayak.
So there is such a thing.
Of course I would never use it in my kitchen.
I think hot grease is more dangerous in a kitchen than knives.

If a rapist breaks in I'd rather have a pointy weapon, thanks. This crap really boggles the mind.

Lol this has got to be the most inventive idea yet.
Guess we're just going to have blunt down everything that's sharp in this world.

Goodness, I hate to see what the UK would do if there was a sudden increase in the number of beating deaths.

Plus, I'd say you're in for many nights of uncomfortable sleep if a few people are suffocated with pillows.

Banning weapons and disarming law-abiding citizens only ensures that the criminals ignoring those laws are the only ones with power.

In the film "Murder in the First" which is supposed to be based on a true story, Kevin Bacon stabs another inmate in the neck with a spoon. I can't remember if he killed him or not, doesn't matter anyhow. If you get rid of knives they just use something else like forks, screwdrivers or " Spoons". And why should I get rid of my nice supersharp kitchen knives just because some scum can't behave themselves.

Not so long ago the stories were all about kicking people to death, so what next - cut everyones feet off???? I know - ban shoes - it'll hurt their feet too much. Sorry going off the subject a bit, but seriously this idea is laughable.

Screw knives! I move to implement FNE - Full Nerf Environment. That way no one gets hurt physically. Our society already caters to a touchy-feely, warm fuzzy approach to feelings, sensitivity, and the rest of the mental side of life. FNE would eliminate physical injury!

Now if we could just create a religion belief system that allows select people to wield control over everyone else, and, at the same time, doesn't hurt feelings...
