When a 3rd party runs someone who is deserving of my vote, then I will. There is no point in voting for someone who isn't electable

When is the last time the big two ran someone deserving of your vote? Seriously.

The ONLY reason they arent electable is because they have brainwashed everyone into believing the lie.

Even if we did not win, if a third party receved a good sized peice of the vote they might start listening to us again.

Exactly!

Brainwashed, apathetic, hopeless/this is all we have to choose from attitudes/ do nothing about it people.

Realising there are other options is the beginning of a turnaround. If you can't realise things could change/be different, then yeah we're going to be stuck with these two parties forever.

What good are they doing us? Both lie, neither of them are for the majority of people. One caters to a specific group doing little for the others, and vice versa.

Not to mention, why do we need one individual doing things for all of us anyway? What kind of country have we turned into? Dependable on government thats what.

If the "majority" of people realise this, why aren't people getting together and DOING something about it.

We have two "lame brained" parties wanting to run the country and neither of them are what they truly stood for once upon a time. Both parties are polarizing to the extreme and we're just sitting back doing nothing... noth-ing!

take the pc out of politics and you got bs. That's all it is.
Covering up their truths, beating around the bush so people don't figure out the "real" agenda. And people buy into it... I know it's hard to stick your head out when it's been in front of the boob tube all day like Amuk said, but it's something that "needs" to be done if you want change.

Realising there are other options is just the beginning of something new, and getting rid of these do nothing attitudes.

I'm done.

im not old enough to vote yet but if i could I would vote populists. I like that they would give the poeple a say in what laws they will be governed under and where a tax payers money would go.

Does anyone remember Perot, who got about 20% of the vote. And, does anyone remembe seeing him in the debates? I think he did rather well.

Or, how about Ventura? what happened to him again?

Also - are there no good people in office, in the either of the 2 parties? at all? I think we have some fine officials (notice I said 'some')

I think if there is anyone to blame, for this political mess we've found ourselves in, we ALL should be looking in the mirror rather than looking at the big 2, or a third party.

That's how it should be, giving the PEOPLE a say in what laws they will be governed under, since THEY are the ones who are going to have to live with it.
Not to mention OUR tax money, indeed we should have a say where it goes.

Notice the decisions that these people make for us don't even have to abide by these laws?? Look at medicare, senators have the best of everything, look at the social security now... What the hell is going on here?

These people don't even live in "our" world and they are governing us and taking our money and doing what they want with it without us having a say in anything!

god that makes me furious!

I can't stand how we allow politicians to act. They can lie to world resulting in the loss of thousands of lives and billions of dollars, and people have become afraid to question these actions for fear of being branded unpatriotic. also, we need to get rid of this perception that it is bad to call for change in this country. Any time a candidate says a change is needed he is branded a liberal by the media and current government which has turned into a bad thing which I don't think it should be. Because of this such subjects as protecting the environment, making healthcare affordable, and international cooperation have become the subject of "liberal hysteria".

A lot of these problems could be fixed by giving people a voice in their own government. Represenative Democracy has proven itself to have too many flaws and it must be reformed, though not replaced. It does have its advantages and would be complimented well by giving the public a direct voice in the federal government. The problem is that while most people are moderate and have views from both parties, the parties have become so polarized that this moderate voice no longer is sufficiently heard.
