When are people going to start realising there are other choices out there. And that they don't have to vote for liberal or conservative.. There are options.

If you were to vote on another party, which would it be?

And why do you think that these other parties aren't getting the recognition they deserve?

Any thoughts?

I know media plays a big part in it, but why do you think many people in gen pop act like they are brain dead to these other options??

It seems alot of people will settle for less these days, and that these people are easily swayed...

Another question, why do you think people are easily swayed these days? Is it because they just aren't asking enough questions, or are they that brain dead?
It seems more and more people are becoming yes men, and pc. This imo is a disease, and this imo, is also a problem that is leading this country into a downward spiral of less courageous individuals, and less "true" freedom fighters. They seem to cowboy up and just take it up the arse.

What your take?

I think these other parties are not getting any recognition, is that they suck.

You can't get a minority party off the ground really, if the only people who will be a part of is are a minority.

Example-Libertarians. They are not taken too seriously because most people do not want legalized drugs and prostitution for one thing.

Becausethe big two use the media to constantly bombard you with the idea that you have only TWO choices. I have even heard it said here among those that should know better.

And dispite KrazyJethro.......LOL I think more people would line up with the Libertarians if they thought they had a chance of winning.

Another reason is the balloting rules in most states favor the big two, its hard to get elected if you cant even get on the ballot in some states.

The two major parties have most people brainwashed into beliving that they are the only hope from the other, which is nonsense because there is not a bit of REAL difference between the two.

TRUE freedom scares the # out of most people nowadays. Look at the drug war, the war on terrisiom, etc.

Each is just an excuse to strip away more and more freedom from this herd of sheep that used to be the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And we give it away gladly because we are afraid that our neighbor might be getting high or screwing the wrong person in the wrong place.

Or we are afraid of the boogie man that big brother created to began with to scare us.

Thomas Jefferson would PUKE if he seen what we have become and I cant blame him.

Sometimes I think we dont even deserve freedom any more, but thats ok I sure we wont have to worry about it much longer

I have always been a Republican and come from a long line of conservatives. I have even convinced my two sons that they are Republican
.

But I would go with the Libertarians to avoid paying Federal Taxes on my check. Boy, would it cut back on goverment regulations. Not only does the goverment tax my paycheck 15% but on nearly every dollar I spend I am paying another 6% on the money that has ALREADY been taxed!!! You can't get past that 21%. I wont even go into all the other taxes that are applied to tobacco, liquor, gasoline, etc......ugh.

Yes, I definately would vote Libertarian if I thought it would work.

If everyone that thought like this WOULD vote Libertarian we WOULD have a chance.

If nothing else it would send a message to the Big two that we are tired of there crap

www.belowtopsecret.com...

It may be to early to plan for the future (ie, election in 2008), and it may be distracting with the current races, but why not?

I am not doubting that there would be a shift to some of the other parties should the laws be changed (as I think they should be).

But who is going to change them? A Republican? HAHA, no.

Nor would a democrat. That leaves no one.

That is what I am saying. They have a strangle hold on the elections and until WE stop looking for someone else to save us and take back our country NOTHING will change.

We can do it but we might have to look up from our big screen TVs for a little bit and I dont see that happining in the near future.

And another thing that kinda worries me is if a third party started to look to powerful if laws would be changed to compoletly prevent it from happining?

The only way it will happen is if they get in a candidate that is beyond reproach, which is difficult to say the least. Or, they could put a lot more people into Congress, which again, very difficult.

Otherwise, they will never get anywhere.

Well we know the candidates for the big two are totally honest and beyond reproach.....

There are or where already a couple libertarians in congress so it not impossible.

No, of course not, but to beat a giant you have to be well above them.

Plus, I know it is not impossible, but it is difficult.

Give it time, I see them making headway with the current division of the people these days.

When a 3rd party runs someone who is deserving of my vote, then I will. There is no point in voting for someone who isn't electable.

yeah and neither are conservative and democrat...

These days anyway... Everything is so ass backwards, and spiriling out of control, and we're just sitting back watching everything go down the hole....

And then when people want to do something, it will be too late...

We've become so radical and polarized these days I dont think anyone will ever be satisfied with their choices, everyone is so focused on the me they want a canidate who will give them the secret of eternal life for christs sake. Who knew that George Washington was right when he warned that are demise would lie in a two party system.

yeah those dudes would definitely be having a # fit right now.......

people need to start banding together for change and get back in control of politics.......

these people are self serving and they will lie lie lie to get what they want, and tell you what you want to hear, and they know that sheep will follow...
And they do.

Smart "thinking" people are the ones who need to take back this nation... That's what i'm talkin about willis.

I couldn't agree more!! For instance, A natural law party member ran for governor of my state last time around - he was talking about health care and goes off on some tangent about how we should be meditating. odd.

Most other parties are single (or limited issue) parties, appealing to a small demographic. Im not defending the two party system we have, per se, but I think the other available parties out there, as jethro put it, suck.

I think the libertarian party has potential and the reform party has had some influence, in the past.

And while we say we want more choice, and more political parties, when we pull the lever, or use the evil Diebold touchscreen, we don't reflect those desires. At least not any of us in significant numbers.

When is the last time the big two ran someone deserving of your vote? Seriously.

The ONLY reason they arent electable is because they have brainwashed everyone into believing the lie.

Even if we did not win, if a third party receved a good sized peice of the vote they might start listening to us again.
