Didnt make it all the way through but I need to get some sleep, so if this has been said past where i stopped ready im sorry.
I just wanted to correct some peoples opinions.
I'm a business student and have taken some courses in marketing.
Maybe people have argued the merits of subliminal advertising due to seeing a logo doesnt make you want to purchase the product, be it food or
whatever.
In cases such as these however, that is not the point. Its only new products or relativly unknown products that want to do that to you.
For big brands its an entirely different concept, I cant remember the word, so I'll call it the decision concept.
Simplified it is brand recognition.
Your hungry, trying to decide where to eat...well you choose McDonald's because you've heard it the most.
Sounds stupid? It does work. In fact some companies will make intentionally bad commercials, just so people talk about how bad they were. Even if
you laugh to yourself a little at how bad it is, your thinking about, if you talk to someone else all the better.
All this ranting comes down to, subliminal advertising works, as we are more likly to purchase the more familiar when faced with a decision of like
products, and it is not a conscious decision.
