Because humans are predators and highly competitive - to the point where we will compete to the death simply on matters of principle. It's in our instinct to kill, and I certainly am looking forward to the challenge presented by a manipulative little critter that gets its kicks from skewering us or stealing our DNA.

I really don't care how "superior" their technology is. Stop worshiping them, it does no one any good. And I really think you underestimate your own species to a fatal degree. All humans do. It's a rather peculiar trait of a species to be so outwardly arrogant and sure of their dominance yet assume some unknown being is ridiculously far ahead of them as to be immune.

Sure - I hope any aliens we meet are not hostile and will just give us the space we need. But I for damned sure will not hesitate to sling some lead their direction if they are causing problems. And being a person who is very curious into "nonstandard" weapons and working to design and test some in my own garage (though that's rather slow due to funding issues..... and safety....) - I think I could whip something up that would work if "standard" weapons didn't.

However, if I throw a boulder at you, and it smashes your head - you're dead. All of the technology we have today can't prevent something so basic. The same goes for a sharpened stick. Sure - certain types of armor reduce the effectiveness of such weapons, but technology cannot eliminate risk, only reduce it. And so far, no evidence has been shown that these beings have anything capable of stopping our existing weapons. Hell, the Russians shot one down back in the 50s or 60s, if I remember correctly.

Though, yes, I do think they have considered our weapons..... and likely that's why they are not saying "here we are!" - because they know that there are too many trigger-happy monkeys down here who will start vaporizing them.

Again, you don't invite me to throw stones at you just because you are wearing body armor - because you know that if I hit you in the right spot, or find one big enough, it will cause damage. The same with these critters, I would expect - they have survived because they didn't blunder in to a foreign country, stagger into the bar, and start chatting with a bunch of guys playing poker, uninvited. People like that don't survive too long .... races like that wouldn't survive too long.

Let's hope that we never have a reason to find out the answer. I prefer to think that if I encounter an EBE that it will not be a life threatening situation even though the stories floating around state this might not be the case.

As a guess, I'd say that a S & W .357 would Git R Done.

It will kill the Grey if the bullet actually hits it. However, their powerful psychic abilities allow them to brainwash you into not firing at them. If you do get a shot off, they can divert the bullets away from their bodies, using an electromagnetic shield that is generated in their skin. It is virtually impossible to hit them with a single shot projectile. Grenades do better.

Don't ask me how I know this.

If I had to calculate a possibility, it would be that any type of "alien" would have highly developed senses, and minds, and they could "feel" the very second you pull the trigger. Just by simply looking at where the gun is pointed they could probably calculate bullet drop, and wind, and your muscle movements, and even hear your breathing which could effect your shot, and they could "know" where the bullet would land.

So when you sense the pull of a trigger, and you calculate the path of the bullet, you could probably dodge bullets.

Why would you want to shoot them in the first place?

I wouldn't even deal with a gun, they are being way too serious about firearms and honestly they control the ammo supplies, in a real emergency guns might not last too long...

What you want to work on is

A: Controling your own thoughts...meditation and the ability to resist being control and to be able to move and take action even under "pain induction" (non lethal weapons) and electric and magnetic devices designed to completely imobilize you

B: your weapons of choice are the same ones that, practicing various martial arts and meditative techniques you would train with. A Good Katana, or other light fast sword, for distance you want a Bow, a good one...

Remember a Bow is silent, you will always be able to produce more ammo that will be next to impossibe to trace, it's Silent, you can hunt and eat undetected, it will last with some extra string much longer than a gun, really forever if you learn how to make bow string and no one knows you shot.

If you can silence your thoughts, there is no heat signature and a modern bow has remarkable striking distance... potentially you can take them down and with good camo and the right heat proof makeup you would literally be invisable to them...

but to take down a grey you want, silent thoughts and silent weapons and no heat signature...

you must return to the ancient ways of fighting, there are no stories of our ancestors the Samuri or of Knights be killing killed by reptillians, but rather stories of our ancestors hunting and killing them...

Bow and sword and martial arts for the mind and spirit, do not posess weapons to win this fight, become a weapon yourself to ensure your victory!

According to Phil Schneider (RIP) he shot and killed two grays (of the 8 foot variety) with a Walther PPK 9mm pistol with a 9 shot clip when he was involved with tunneling and Deep Underground Military Bases working as geologist for the government.
If you are interested in hearing what he has to say, there are 4 lectures from 1995 by him floating around on youtube, video.google etc. They really are some truly amazing videos which are well worth a look if you are into that kind of thing. Apparently he had thirteen attempts on his life during 1995 but for some reason he committed 'suicide' in early 1996 even after stating that he had no intention of doing so. RIP Phil Schneider.

This thread is a classic example why the grays would never openly come here and interact with us in an open manner. If the replies in this thread are even close to the majority opinion, we have a long long long wait before open contact occurs. Immaturity and ignorance still rule the day and it looks like will for some time to come.

I've been lurking here at ATS for a while now, and while there were threads I found distasteful, this has got to be the worst!

Why is it that anytime something is misunderstood, the first thing that comes to mind is... let's kill it? Shoot a grey? What's up with that?

What in your mind would cause you to even wonder what could kill another living being? No wonder the world is so f'd up!

It's like a shark... I wouldn't want to be attacked or eaten by one, but I sure as h_ll don't want to kill it either.

Man has NO CHANCE of ever living in peace... on earth, or beyond! We are a sad race and I'm definitely not proud to be a part of it!

I personally think "grays" are a fairy tale, but my personal beliefs aside:

I assume grays would be just like any other type of living being we have ever encountered, made out of flesh and blood. There's no reason to suggest otherwise. So unless they have some kind of advanced alien force-field protecting them, I'm sure good old lead and gun powder would work fine on them.

If you felt you were going to be abducted, well that's kidnapping. You have the right to defend yourself with deadly force. Inside a dwelling, the blast from a big revolver could render you deaf. I have an aluminum baseball bat that I trust. Go to a swap meet or garage sale and get you one.

I think your topic should of been straight to the point of using guns in general. Anything that can fire a bullet or projectile. Now that's not to panic but if disclosure must come to an end then sacrificing the life of an extraterrestrial being will do justice to us and the world. It's our only way to ward off their frail little minds control of this planet.

Oh. I'm sorry I meant to say murder. If anyone can murder one of these kidnappers or tormentors post some pictures and video for all us to see. Tell us what happened and the impact of gun retaliation.

Sure they might have better more sophisticated technology like some sort of laser gravity weapons, but if their going to take you by force of will, I say refuse and resist.

All of us are going to be fighting them to take back control of this world someday. If murdering one is the beginning of the end, then so be it.

I know this small town. Effington, Illinois. They won't go near it. I know it might be out of the way, but it's a start. One bastard already hung on the cross for the world to see.
