Smith & Wesson makes many types of weapons.

Just which one are you referring too?

Supposedly a shotgun works wonders - at least for the farmers.

But, really, from what I understand, they are really physiologically 'weak' by comparison to ourselves. Though they supposedly have ways of paralyzing us - which sort of puts us in a bit of a predicament.

So far, it seems we've not encountered UFOs with a "shield" (the Russians supposedly shot one down) - the closest thing to a "shield" would be whatever form of gravity manipulation they are supposed to use (assuming that is what it is).

Though it could just be that we have never encountered a combat-worthy vehicle of theirs - or a combat-ready individual. They could potentially use biomechanics to augment themselves, or any number of things.

The thing is that we don't exactly know. I can't go out into the bushes and wrangle one up and start performing tests on it like I could a rabbit (and even rabbits are a pain in the butt to catch). So, I can't exactly tell you what would happen if you were to try and punch its lights out.

Something tells me, however, that if you were to encounter a Grey in a manner where you could actually use a sidearm on it, that it is already screwed. Chances are that they don't really do physical combat and prefer to be in ships and letting their technology fight for them.

garunteed a shotgun would blow a hole in one, but thats if they don't get you from the air. don't think they would move on foot, if they have craft like the ones that can turn on a dime at so and so speed then they got some pretty advanced groung vehicles. if thats all ya got, use it.
but i don't think they're going to invade, they would've wiped us off the face of the earth a long time ago.

I have a couple of firearms, a couple of which are S&W... i bet all of them would work just fine on an EBE. I just dont think i could shoot one unless it was trying to invade my house or if it was being hostile towards me or my loved ones..... basically i would treat it like i treat humans. I wouldnt shoot one unless i had too.

They seem to be made of flesh and organs though.... How would I know for certain though??? The true test would be to squeeeze a few rounds of at one and se what happens.... I'll keep my 45 with me just in case i come across one.

We know nothing substantiated about any EBE, so posturing as to what would and wouldn't work against them is an act in futility. Thinking involves many layers. I recommend thinking.

Lets suppose say you don't kill a alien with your gun.You better wished you never shot in the first place.

how about the possibility of the Grays actually using ESP to turn that firearm you are aiming at them to yourself? Hmm...

no kidding. you wanna get all uppity about your barkin up the wrong tree. The post was theoretical at best so maybe you wanna keep your little flapper locked up and post a reply thats not off topic. Nobody came in here and attacked you so have a little respect.

Quality of members post have been going down hill lately, my apologies for the off topic post but this guy is a tool.

To be honest, there is nothing wrong with Tyrlind's post in my opinion it is perfectly on topic and legitimate. If you wanted a purely Theoretical thread then you could've at least noted that as part of your opening post and avoided a lot posts you didn't want to read...

But anyways that aside:

I would probably say from the S&W line something like the Model 500 - 6.5" Revolver. Any weapon that as fancy things like electronics or lots of moving parts might be rendered useless since they might have some sort of special field weapon or (in the case of Electronic components) EMP devices.

If the ET's didn't have a way to immobilize us immediately I imagine they would have some type of armor on.

Might be a good idea to use armor piercing ammo.

Well, if you're going to go into combat you'd be a fool (or feeling incredibly plucky) to go in unarmed, that's for sure.

I would think that any firearm would be preferable to engaging an extra-terrestrial in close combat.

Although of course, i suppose i'm the type of person who would avoid combat anyway and start gathering the required materials to launch a suicide attack on one of their carriers.

Yeah i think guns work in outer space. What you might have you look out for is the whole zero gravity thing. The report from a gun blast would send a bullet hurling through space forever until it burnt up. But for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and that gunshot would send you hurling through space at equall speed for your mass the opposite direction.
at least i think thats how it works.

Personally, my two favorite weapons are the M-107 Anti-material rifle (.50 caliber sniper rifle) - accurate to 2000 yards (though you can make longer shots) and the Barrett .416 - it wont hit someone hiding behind a brick wall like the "light fifty" will, but it is cold-bore accurate out to 2500 yards.

Beyond that, I'd whip out a katana and go to town on them if they got close enough for side arms. That, or just use strong-arm tactics. Strangely enough, though I only weight in at about 135 - I put up quite a fight for people who outweigh me by 30% or more, often getting on their flank and in a perfect position to "put them to sleep."

But somehow I get the feeling that they would not do well in hand-to-hand combat against us.... probably we could just grab them by the arm and toss them around like rag-dolls until their arms popped off - then we could smack them around with their own detached limbs..... and that's rather disturbing..... why am I talking like that?

Why would you want to shoot a gray, are you mental?? Do you know what these beings are capable of?? Do you think they never thought of that, or could not concieve a pop gun pee shooter weapon like this from the middle ages? What do you think this is, Duke Nukem??What is this Tom and Jerry?Itchy and scratchy?Turn off the TV.

Isn't this question a bit silly?

How would a smith & wesson do against a gray

ANSWER: Probably nothing because a "gray" is far superior to a pathetic human mind or technology. What could an ancient civilization around (2000 bc) do against the US?
