That's exactly why I'm still not convinced. I have yet to see the exact effect with the pixelation and the halo-like effect on an original scan. Every other scan I've seen has the bleed-like effect, but not the pixelation and halo effect.

I haven't had time to experiment myself yet. I want to try to make this same halo effect myself.

Oh... and just to remind everybody.... the scan WAS photoshopped! That's 100% certain. It's just that we don't know how much was photoshopped.

Let's assume for the sake of argument that you are correct.
Obama's birth certificate is forged.

Don't you think they would have found someone better than me to do the forgery? It's very easy to create a forgery minus the halo effect by simply changing the interpolation. An expert document forger (Which I would imagine would be the guy to forge a presedential candidates birth certificate) would not let something so stupid give him away. It's like David copperfiled letting you see the strings that allow him to fly? It doesn't happen? He's a proffessional.

This image is simple text, arial, 10pt, strong on a cloloured background (same green present in the Obama scan). I then saved it with poor interpolation quality and Tada! Hey presto!

I have over ten years experience in imaging and design and I can tell you that pixelation is not proof of a fake.

However the consistency of the black color to the text and it's sharpness/contrast in relation to the background does not seem normal.

The text appears to float over the background and there are no physical signs of the text being printed on to paper.

The blackness and uniform quality to the stamp is a big give away, it shows no sign of being physically stamped or scanned despite it's high detail which should show up clues.

The certificate would have to be printed on a very high resolution laser printer and then scanned immeadiatly if this had any chance of being real, even then I'd expect to see evidence of a physical print and the imperfections that entails.

I've worked with Photoshop extensively, as a retoucher, a pre-press technician, and as an amateur artist.

You come across all kinds of different artifacts over the course of a career looking at images, sometimes artifacts are present for no apparent reason. Every transfer increases the chance of corruption, and that's especially true of scanned documents, and documents that have been compressed (i.e. .jpg). Depending on what sort of math you use to arrange pixels, it can create loads of different corruptions.

There are camera artifacts, scanner artifacts, physical artifacts (dust), light artifacts, artifacts created in the rendering process, yadda yadda yadda.

It's certainly not proof of a forgery - although it has been pointed out that it is often indicative of manipulation, it should also be said that a pronounced LACK of artifacts can also be indicative of manipulation. Sometimes an image just looks too clean to be real, and you know someone labored over each and every pixel.

Has anyone considered the possibility that the type was raised and the noticeable white area around the letters is the bruise left by the printing process?

I don't have my COB handy, so I can't check, but these aren't printed flat, are they? The letters, stamps, etc., have some dimension to them, right?

Just a thought.

Who knows, maybe it was falsified. There's certainly no irrefutable proof of that fact present in this thread though...

It is obvious though. The other example scans show no pixilization with a different color from the background. These scans do, however, show the color bleeding of the letters into the background.

Obama's shows no color bleeding only succinct pixilization.

Washed out granulated color bleeding you'll find on every image when zooming in on the letters. It is because the Graphics Editor is using an algorithm to determine the new Pixel size, based on the lower resolution you zoomed in to. The color bleeding granular effect occurs because the Graphics Editor is estimating where the new color should reside relative to the new number of Pixels and the new size of each Pixel.

The algorithm first has to calculate the new Pixel size and then fill in with the color while maintaining an overall image appearance. It doesn't get it perfect because of the DPI (dots per inch) at lower resolutions vs. higher resolutions.

Obama's CoB image doesn't have this because two separate image layers are used. Because of two image layers, the top-most layer containing the text doesn't bleed into the other layer, because it cannot. Everything is congruent to one image layer. Any independent layers maintain their image attributes and perspectives.

I never discredited him about hindu gods or swinging far right. I did point out his NWO connections, which are vast, and which are contrary to the picture he paints of himself.

The best indication that the birth certificate is a fake is the answers to mother's and father's RACE.......in 1961 Hawaii, Mother's race correctly read "Caucasian' and father's race would of read "Negro" not African. African is a Nationalty not a race, there are plenty of white Africans living in South Africa......."African" or "African-American" are present day P.C. terms.

I think the pixelation comes from layers. You can see each new word was a layer by the rectangle around them. If the person doing it would have flattened the image, it would of helped, but since they did not, it shows pixelation the size of each layer around each area text was added.

I would venture to bet that if they would have had two lines, one with text, one without, there would of been pixelation where the text was missing.

Just my 2 cents.

It would be comforting to see an actual photocopy of the CoB. It would most likely be a black and white image. Color copies were very rare and the color duplication process was probably to expensive back in 1961. I do not know how Hawaii's official copies looked in those days but many official documents of that era were black and white reversed color images. they looked like a black and white photo negative. They would have almost certainly have had a rubber stamped notation staiting that the document was an "official copy" or nsomething to that affect. Posibly a notary public raised seal.

Perhaps the question should be raised as to why the certificate of birth is not easily acessable to the public. I would hope the F.o.I.A. or some other government entity would help dyslexic persons, such as my self equal access to the official copies on an official government web site. I was not able to read and write so well in school but I was a good listener. In civics we learned that presidential candidates were required by law to place such information for public review. It was part of the full disclosure claus in the constitution and amendments. Please excuse my grammar and spelling.
