2008 and Nostradamus, prophecy fulfilled?

I found this post on another forum, the person goes by the name Ezekiel. I found this quite interesting. His "math" seems to be up to snuff. If anyone wishes to see the post, send me a PM and I will give you the link. The reason I am not posting the link is because I do not know if it will violate the TOS.

Here is Ezekiel's post.


"For ten years I've watched the specific dated warnings by Nostradamus approach and pass with out one falling on a significant date that would help make sense of his warnings... that is until this year, i.e. 2008.
So far this year all have fallen on religious holidays, one Catholic, one generally Christian, and another Hebrew.

First Nostradamus warned "the year of the great seventh number completed" then continued... "at the time of the games of great sacrifice". At the first Olympics, the games were opened by holding a hugh sacrifice of beasts, all dedicated to the gods of Olympus.

The year of the seventh number, 2007 is completed, and in 2008 there is scheduled to be held Olympic games. When the rest of his dates fall on significant days, the event foretold in each will soon be fulfilled.

Nostradamus included these other warnings and dates, that until 2008 meant very little:

1. "February sixth will bring mortality"
2. "The tenth Calends of April Gothic count"
3. "Sun twentieth at Taurus"
4. "A very mighty trembling in the month of May"
5. "For many nights the earth will tremble, over the Spring two efforts in succession".
6. "there will appear, towards the north, not far from Cancer, the bearded star: the great of Rome will die, the night over".

2008 and the great seventh number is completed and these other dates fortell of a coming time of troubles:

1. February sixth in 2008 (very early, and on this, a leap year) was "Ash Wednesday". A day the Catholic Church uses to reinforce your "mortality" by beginning 40 days of Lint. The word "mortality" was in the first sentence read from a web site that came up while surfing the web with the key word: "February sixth".
February 6th, 2008 = Ash Wednesday.

2. The "tenth Calends of April Gothic count" is a method by which to read the ancient Roman calendar. This date is equivilant to March 23rd. March 23rd in 2008 (very early, and on this, a leap year) turned out to be Easter Sunday.
Tenth Calends of April = Easter Sunday.


3. "Sun twentieth at Taurus"; refers to the "20th of April" of any given year, when on the 21st, the following day, begins the Zodiac month of Taurus. But in 2008 the 20th of April, at Taurus, fell on a SUN-day. "Sunday the twentieth, at Taurus" - and in 2008 this also happened to be "Passover". Coincidence?
Sunday the 20th at Taurus = Passover.

4. "A very mighty trembling in the month of May": On May 12th in 2008 - an earthquake rated 8.0 (very mighty); struck China. Another coincidence?

5. "For many nights the earth will tremble, over the Spring two efforts in succession": An "effort" in the dictionary is defined as "energy expended". What a clever way to suggest a devastating event such as a typhoon, or an earhquake. The first part of this prophecy suggests that an earthquake is part of these two efforts (or unleashing of energy). In 2008, over the Spring there indeed were two efforts in succession. On May 2nd a devastating typhoon hit Burma killing nearly 100,000 people. Only ten days later, on May 12th, the strongest earthquake to hit China in over a hundred years killed nearly 80,000 and has made "millions" more homeless. Amazing.

6. "There will appear towards the North, not far from Cancer, the bearded star, the great of Rome will die, the night over." The sign of Cancer begins on June 22nd."

If you read the threads on Project Lucifer, it would be Saturn.

Course, that is assuming you give any credence to Nostra anyway-his prophecies and prophecies in general have spelled the end of the world thousands of times over.

I am not sure what your getting at here. Either you did not comprehend the post or you just went into "attack" mode when you saw the name Nostradamus. In either case I thank you for your input and I don't think what you mentioned has anything in common with what I posted.

Sorry, just tired of doomsday crap and prophecies. I predict that when 2012 comes and goes, the doomsday 2012 date will be moved to 2014 due to miscalculations on the calendar... then 2016... then 2020 (since thats a magical sounding number).. etc. etc.

Nostradamus is nonsense. People forget all the hundreds of wrong predictions and how mealy written some are that they could mean anything.

I see the angle your shooting at (with cassini) and on further review I do not think you were trying to sabotage my post. Good catch. I thought cassini was due to crash into saturn sometime in july, sorry about that.

I don't think Nostradamus is the problem. I think the problem is people trying to interpret his writings.

This is a great thread by the way and you've done a great job drawing the parallel lines here. For some reason I can't help but feel like 'Rome' is referring to the United States. Here's why:

I selected two well researched books on Nostradamus about 10 -15 years ago, one by an English writer, and other I can't recall - but both were brilliant and convincing, and showed one how to speculate (oneself) upon other prophecies that one or the other of these authors had not attempted to interpret personally. I discovered a reference to Princess Diana's death, day of Diana, or Monday - Twin Towers 9/11, references to Bin Laden, and possibly a few others. (And of course, Hitler in retrospect, and other 'great' tyrants ( i.e.) who'd insisted they were 'great' ! ) I sold both books in about 2000 to owner of a used bookstore who later told me he was truly amazed and appreciative of both. I sold because I was just spending too much time on them off and on, but Nostradamus made me feel safer into 21st Century. I can't recall last entry for sure, but it was way beyond 2067 AD. I believe. (And he died before adding more entries.) So, it didn't seem to me he was any doomsday prophet at all. In fact he gave me hope that we might all change things for the better.

What I put was a bit vague, ultimately I don't like any 'prophecies'. Every one of them is found in hindsight. Same with those number games: "We're special cause of how many times '7' appears in XXX". You can make anything fit any vague confine you like. Doesn't make it accurate or in some way prophetic.

This is ignoring all the philosophical problems with prophecy from 'set futures' to 'freedom of will'.

All of them are cited by people as showing the end of the world because X happend and X is linked to passage Y in the bible and section Z in the Mayan calendar and...

Etc.

I read in another post that the alignment of the solar system this summer will make for a "new double star" or a "twin star" in July.
