Kevin Randle (who has authored a number of books on Roswell and UFOs in general) also states crashes are rare. He does not give a number, but he hints that it could be one per decade. His book "A History of UFO Crashes" states many cases, and several of the familiar ones are deemed hoaxes (Aztek and San Agustin to name a couple hoaxes). Project Moon Dust was created to pick up crashed items from space, including those that were not man made. Sgt Stone found the group out and the Air Force changed the name to another classified name because it was found out. If saucers did not crash, there would not be a need for a covert agency to deal with crashes.
