The Disasters Darwinism brought to Humanity

So there has been some confusion as to what darwinism is. Is it a belief? A philosophy? a science? a worldview?

It is a worldview from the 1800s. In it's principles and ideaology, it reflects the opinions of Darwin himself, and even the societal views of the people of the time!

If a theory is correct, it will not reflect the beliefs of a culture. It will not be influenced by cultural opinions, or personal human opinion. It will be purely neutral and unnaffected by human thinking or cultural beliefs. Yet Darwinism clearly reflects the culture and time period it came from

Evolution is a concept from a time and place where people would be out and out racists . Many people today reject evolution on moral grounds. If evolution is true, clearly some races have evolved better than others, see?

I think Darwinism came as a result of religion becoming slightly out of hand and distorted. Something had to come along and polarize the thinking until the truth comes around full circle to unite the two concepts... that being science and spirit (or consciousness).

I feel there is definitely truth to that statement.

Perhaps people got too entrenched in their minds in one way of thinking about the past, and perhaps that could have been due to their religions.

Something had to come along to combat the old worldviews, in order to break people away a bit and free up their minds a bit, even if the new idea that came to combat the old idea is also wrong.

It's a natural manifestation of Yin and Yang.

darwinism is a scientific theory about the descent of species from a common ancestor as they changed over time to adapt to an environment

face up to the reality that it is the only truly scientific explanation we have for things instead of trying to throw out the "darwin was a bigot" card.

there is no ideology in darwinsim
there is no principle in it that is not scientific

now either stop spreading this sort of ignorance (which you have done with quite a few threads recently) or leave.

edit to add one thing. i watched part of the video, it was too ridiculous to watch the whole thing, but i'd like to make one statement:

"post hoc ergo propter hoc"
it's the logical fallacy that pretty much the whole video rests on

"Darwinism", or the Origin of Species, a scientific theory, not a "world-view", came about because humanity learned something. It wasn't caused by some agenda, or because of religion, or because of any culture. It is an unbiased, objective, independent view of how species develop.

Just because that doesn't fit into your predefined view of science doesn't mean it's not true. All the history books and subsequent studies of and tweaking to the theory show that.

Of course, it's much easier to shoot down something you don't like if you can paint it in a bad light. Unfortunately for you, the thing you don't like is the result of impartial scientific observations, and so you have to try to turn it from a theory into some kind of biased agenda. Which you fail at, horribly.

If it is corrupt, why is there so much evidence suggesting evolution happens, and why isn't there any that shows it doesn't? If you're right, both of those shouldn't be true, yet they both are. That must tell you something...

it has no belief structure, organization, holy book, or shared outlook.

I hate threads like this. All they do is bring in people who start baiting each other and attacking each other. Yes, I get it. Many bad things could be tied to the belief in the theory of Evolution. Many bad things, heck, many MORE bad things can be tied to CHristianity, Islam, judaism, ect.
Which is what someone will do later in this thread, I am sure.

No doubt about it!! It will come down to the "Debate" situation. With all the Atheist conspiracies, Destruction of Christianity, My belief is better than your belief threads, it truly does get old.
ME as an atheist, it leaves me little left to do than try to explain that there was no other influence to allow me to conclude or proclaim myself as to who and what I am. (Human) But questioned by the multitudes of Christians or the like waiting for some kind of lightning strike to bring an end to all of this redundant and unprovable notion's of who or what is the right or wrong thing to be.

Facism has nothing to do with religion. (In fact wasnt Hitler a christian? If thats the case, it would make fascism a product of religion wouldnt it?)

Communism has nothing to do with religion.

Alcoholism has nothing to do with religion. Its not just atheists that have alcoholism problems.

Yeah! Because everyone knows Catholics don't drink. You'll never find a drunk Irishman. And Hitler was a Catholic, too, but he didn't drink (or eat meat). Communism is a political ideology not anything to do with god or atheism.

Surely the fact you have to make stuff up to try to argue should highlight how hopelessly lost you are in this discussion, and how twisted and distorted your view of the world is.
