God's Wrath

What confuses me is if CA gets drought, lightening strikes/wildfires and earthquakes and LA a hurricane and that's God's will punishing serious sinners, then how does one who subscribes to that thought characterize the tornado's and floods in OK and MO? Aren't those two states in particular extremely Christian? Is that divine action on the coasts and Satanic action in the mid-west?

Wow! Am I glad I don't believe in your god. He sounds kind of like a petulant child, and sort of Republican at that (I didn't know until I read your post that god didn't vote for Clinton).

But let's just assume for the sake of argument that you are totally right. Then I'm kind of wondering why Canada has had legalized gay marriage for a while and no god's wrath. Is it that god really really dislikes Americans, or did he just not hear about the new Canadian law, I mean Canada not being as important to god as the US. I know some Canadian feel that an American team winning the Stanley cup was sort of wrath of god-ish but some of them speak French so..

And what sort of sex sin was happening in the Bible belt to make god flood out all those god fearing Christians and ruin their lives. Was it sex, since that is what god really seems to find distasteful, or was it their political convictions? And if it was sex, it didn't have anything to do with cows did it? Because if it did, I would have thought that would have been asteroid crashing into Omaha kind of wrath.

I would love it if you would very clearly show me, since you see the hand of god and his wrath so clearly, the relationship between specific "sins" and specific natural disasters. To me, it seems odd that Rev Hagee apparently ahd coffee with god or something and was told that Katrina happened because NO was planning a gay parade. So why is planning a parade more sinful than having one, why was there no hurricane in San Francisco or New York were there were parades?

I know, I know, you sort of have to spell it our for one as unspiritual as me, but in your eyes I am a sinner and therefore one of those who Jesus came to save.

Here is the truth: God in the OT did not permit sin. Read Leviticus, 1 and 2 Kings, Judges, 1 and 2 Chronicles, Isaiah, Ezekial, also dont forget Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis. Now tell me this. Is God talked about in the Law of Moses as Holy and Just? Then tell me this. How can a Holy God let sin go unpunished? The answer, He cant! Why? He's Holy. What is Sin? Simple. It is missing the mark. It is disobedience of God's commands. Look you stiff necked and heart hearted people; God will not tolerate sin to go unpunished. If it doesnt get punished now, it will get punished later. Yes God is a Holy God, but also a loving God. You know why? He sent to die for you THE ONE NAME THAT MOST OF YOU CANT STAND! God the Son Jesus Christ! You still refuse to submit to Him. You still refuse to repent! You still refuse to love him with all you have! You still choose to mock Him like Hes some kind of Joke! You still choose to live in your sin despite the warnings! Yes God does love you, thats WHY HE HASNT COME BACK YET! You think God is on your timetable? You thing He is on your schedule? That He has anything to prove to you? No. He doesnt! and He never will! Now for you who say that Jesus never preached against Homosexuality. He did. He called it sexual perversion, sexual immorality. He said that no sinner would ever see Heaven. Why? Once again God is Holy. If you say you have no sin you are lying. Guess what, lying is a sin. So you are without excuse. Now to you selfrighteous hypocrites that call yourselves Christians all i got to say is read romans 2:1 ENOUGH SAID. For all you homosexuals again that say that Christians are evil; Yes. Some are evil and never were saved. But those who love you but along with God hate what you do, they are just going by the Word of God as in His Law. Read Romans 1, also 2 Timothy 2:22. Many will say Lord, Lord and Jesus will say "i never knew you!" Why? If you say you are a Christian then you will love His word and love to obey His law. and just so that you know, The law is not dead it is FULFILLED IN CHRIST! So what does that mean for you that CHOOSE to deny Christ? YOU VIOLATE THE JEWISH LAW! Meaning you put yourself in danger of hell as the payment for sin! Now there is only one solution. Not Hell fire and brimstone, but Loving the Lord God with all you have, and loving all as yourself. For you that dont know Christ, you need to gte to know Him. He is the only one who can save you. He loves you and will seek you out, but the more you run; the harder the knocks get.

God ordained that one man and one woman equals a marriage. That was stated at the outset of human creation. Christ repeated it in the New Testament accounts.


“A man shall leave his father and mother and be united unto his wife, both becoming one flesh.”


To tamper with that so as to created “marriage” by same-gender unions is to fly into the face of God. He will respond. His nature demands it.


God is both eternal mercy and eternal justice. In His perfection, God cannot wink at sin so as to allow it to continue for any mortal reasoning.


Throughout the Bible one reads God’s demands for obedience. For those who obey, God blesses. For those who disobey, God curses.


The Old Testament history is one closing with the divine curse for the Hebrews persisted generation after generation
in disobedience. Very few instances are recorded regarding the tribes’ obedience to the Ten Commandments.


Christ stated that if one loves Him, that disciple will keep His commandments. That same balance of mercy and justice is evident in deity incarnate. Therefore, for those who obey Christ, there is the blessing. For those who disobey Christ, there is the curse.


If America goes the way of California regarding same-gender unions called “marriage,” God will bring down His wrath. No one knows how or when or where. But God by His holy nature must respond to that evil.


These are dangerous times in which to disobey the God of the universe. Yet that is exactly what the California court has done.


Biblical moralists will respond with strong voices. Again, they will refer to sociological and psychological dimensions as well as familial considerations. But the major concern is what the Word of God sets forth.


As a Christian minister I warn the disobedient that they will suffer the anger of the Creator who has already defined marriage as one-man and one-woman. One dares not tamper with that divinely established definition.

So why does god seem so obsessed with sex? After all, he made it and it seems that we are wired to be sexual, so why does he hate it so much? I thought that infinite creator of the Universe might have more pressing issues then worrying about which flap of skin on my body touches which flap of skin on another person's body. You seem to be quite versed in the psychology of god so perhaps you could shed some light on that for me.

I also have a couple of questions that are real life situations so, once again, maybe you could use your special insights to provide an answer to help some Christians who really want to do the right thing to figure out what that is.

The first person is someone who I will call Brett. I knew Brett all my life and was rather stunned when Brett confided to me that he/she was a functional hermaphrodite. The dilemma was that he/she wanted to marry one of my dear male friends, but Brett has a penis. But Brett also has a vagina. If Brett marries Scott, is that a same sex marriage? This is not made up since Brett's minister decided that if Brett marries a man or woman it will be a same-sex marriage and that has nearly driven Brett to suicide. By the way, estimates by medical professionals are that 1% of the population are hermaphrodites, which means that this answer is important to about three million Americans.

Second question, again based on a first hand experience. A friend of mine married a woman he met in Florida. Six months after the wedding, he found out that his bride had previously been male and had a sex change operation. Was this a same sex marriage? Why or why not? Was the man guilty of homosexuality even thought he thinks he is heterosexual?

I would really love you to explain how this works. I guess one of the presuppositions of your position is that it has to be really easy to tell male and female apart. Perhaps you could share those criteria with us.

And while we are at it, why is god so cranky? I mean he is always wrathing over this or sending a storm or plague or something to wipe out people that piss him off, yet as near as I can tell, the people are pissing him off because they are using the free will he gave them. So does that mean that if a person is a sinner and god kills that person before they have an opportunity to repent, hasn't god circumvented his promise of free will. I mean I can understand that I guy is out of luck when he declines an opportunity and then gets hit by a truck, but if god smashes him in the head with a tree branch during a storm that is his wrath, isn't that cheating?

It seems to me god could have saved everyone a lot of grief if he had made sex hurt, or make us all one gender so that this whole gay thing would not even be an issue, but I guess god doesn't get "do-overs". Pity.

And how about you? Isn't interesting that god seems to share your hang-ups on sex and love of vengeance and slaughter while the god I read about seems to be into forgiving, redemption and reconciliation. maybe we know different gods, or maybe we are making the whole thing up.

So what does god think about the war in Iraq? Islam? Communism? Gun control? the Presidential Election? Premarital sex? consensual but kinky sex? interraccial relationships?

I was once a Christian and I sought the truth and god provided an answer. As a result of that, I am no longer a Christian and have never been more happy and at peace with myself and world.

Christians keep telling me that those who seek shall find, but the actual text they use seems to be different from other accounts of what Jesus said. For example, the gospel of Thomas says Jesus said, "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all. And that describes nicely my adventure. Everything I believed was shaken and turned inside out and I saw everything I had seen before in ways that I had never imagined.

I have met so many others who share my path, we sought and when we finally found an answer, it was not what Christians, except for several marginalized monastic communities, think the answer ought to be.

Do you really have the courage to place your faith on the line? To seek and accept the answer even though it is not what your church and minister says it must be? I assure you if you do you will find and the answer will shock and scare you, and then you will marvel and reign, and from my experience, never want to go back to what you were before.

Since I'm on ATS, I suppose I should make the usual analogy to the Matrix, but I think is should suffice just to allude to it.

have you ever heard of Sodom and Gomorrah??? You think it's all love and free to do whatsoever you want....judgement free????? Wake up call for ya. All the smiley peace and happiness and God is only love so we won't mention sin or holiness, besides we want your cash preachers are of no consequence. God will and does do what He wants and how he see's fit. The ungodly are punished in this life and more so in the next. Christians who are unruly and rebellious are chastised. If God didn't love us there would be nobody left at this point. It's His mercy that allows life to continue regardless of the ungodliness incluging murdering babies even at full term and homosexual marriage. Homosexuality is a repulsive sin and abomination that even the lowest and dumbest of animals never engage in. Tribulation and judgement is coming, scoff if you like, but you'd be wiser to repent and stop being so proud and arrogant in the face of your creator who is ALL POWERFUL. Fortuneately He loves us to the point He died for us and rose again. But for those who deem themselves wise and reject Him and His word.....have made a choice to stand against Him. Daniel

On the other han, if we look at sin of the Netherlands, that land should not be on the face of the earth if God whipes of all that are in sin. I guess we can only pray that Gods mercy be with all of us.

In the days of Jesus there was a really bad accident that killed eighteen people.He was asked about Pilate mixing the blood of some Galilaeans with sacrifices which lead to this exchange.

Luke 13:2 "And Jesus answering said unto them,Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all Galilaeans because they suffered such things?

Luke 13:3 "I tell you Nay:but,except ye repent,ye shall like wise perish."

Luke 13:4 "Or those eighteen,upon whom the tower in Siloam fell,and slew them,think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?

Luke 13:5 "I tell you Nay:but,except ye repent,ye shall like wise perish."

What I get from those verses is that no you are not killed for "sinning",but if you dont repent and change your ways in the end you will perish.Once you die you are gone and will not get to chill in paradise.I know its all about interpertation (sp) but thats the meaning I get from that. Jesus is so cool aint he He tells ya just what ya want to know

The beginning of the ten commandments says I the lord your god am a jealous god and thou shall have no other gods before me is the same god that said man shall not lie with a man as he does a woman. it is the same god that told the hebrews if they would not walk in his ways that they would be cursed its all in leviticus now why would you suppose that this same god would not judge a rebellious nation that promotes the things he is against. gods wrath is his mercy because it is not intended to destroy people but to get their attention. god at any time could wipe california or a whole nation away in a moment if he chooses. these disasters are a wake up call from god saying i love you all but you need to repent and turn back to jesus. also special note god does not hate anybody nor should we god hates our sin be it homo porn etc. he is a god of love but clearly he is a jealous god and he even says so so you people who choose to think that it is not possible for god to send a tornado or quake your wrong. gods prophets have warned us to repent and america ignores them they say that why have these prophecies been wrong so many times and the answer is simple god has postponed many of his warnings to give us space to repent and if you don't believe it look at jonah his prophecy never came to pass because the people of nineveh repented so does that mean that he was a false prophet, no it doesn't. all i am saying is that if you really look america we are already in to our knees all of us have put us here, we are all guilty not just homos or rapist or killers or drug dealers we all have sin. god plainly says that no drunkard, fornicator, effeminate, etc will enter the kingdom. sorry about my grammar skills and puctuation kind of in a hurry love you all sincerely even the worst just don't love sin be it mine or yours repent seriously i am not a quak im a realist

Actually that day may not be far off because of the abomination of "gay" marriage. Unless armerica repents and rejects the insanity of "gay rights", removing God from everywhere, and the whole liberal agenda all together, america is doomed to a great wrath.
