I Was Fired Today, For My Bumperstickers!!!

You are, quite simply, very Ignorant to believe that it is perfectly fine to place such a stick on your car and for other people not to get offended.

While it IS your right to place what ever sticks you want on your car, if you make yourself look like an undesirable character, then dont be surprised when you are asked to leave.

You are very foolish Sir.

I am sorry for your loss, However I am sorry to say, what happened is not very smart on your behalf. Lets keep this brief, well start below.

A day care center and pedophile jokes?

Would you Go to a Synagogue with a Hitler Sticker (even as a joke)?

Would you go to a Mosque with with a animated picture of a suicide bomber (like the ones in Holland)

It is logical, that in any workplace it is general knowledge that certain topics are very sensitive such as:

Sexual Harassment
Politics
Life Style/Sexuality &
Religion


These are all very sensitive topics, and to advertise your political beliefs even something as simple as bumper stickers can be found to be offensive. It is no different then you sending out an email saying how you feel about the holocaust and that you don't like blacks and Jews. There is a fine line, and in work places you have to be careful.

I am in no way saying freedom of speech doesn't exist in a workplace, it does. You should speak up against oppression such as, not being employed for being of a certain race or creed, sexual harassment etc. But for the GREATER good of the workplace, for the peace, harmony and smooth daily operation of those around you it is best to keep your political beliefs to yourself and not to advertise them as this can get you into trouble.

I would take this as a lesson learn't. I would move on and look for another job. I understand your frustration, I don't agree with what happened but you can not change whats happened. Unless you have a pocket full of cash and some very big lawyers, because the courts are conservative.

I'm going to buy a sport bike soon and I'm willing to cover it with stickers. Some sort of pentagrams and just humor stickers. If someone fires me for that this person will be in a big trouble.

Have you tried applying for employment at any of the many Democratic National Committee offices?

I'm sure they'd just love to have you, since you do typify just about everything they stand for.

Dude, I used to have a car loaded with liberal sloganed bumper stickers.
I didn't get fired for it, there was involvement of sex within the confines of the political humor.

But that isn't even the issue. You just poorly chose a job with the bumpersticker you have. Chalk it up as a lesson learned, though you haven't seemed to have learned it yet.

i would have fired your ass too. how could you possibly think it would be cool to display such stickers soo proudly right outside the front door of a daycare center. my god, come on. you could atleast have showed a little class & parked in a less conspicuous place or positioned your vehicle where that crap wasn't in everyone's face. geez. good luck with the lawsuit. this is what is wrong with our legal system. it's bogged down with junk like this. it is common sense to realize this would cause a problem. you obviously don't have any common sense & now you want to sue somebody. if i had a child at a daycare center & i went there to pick-up/drop-off and saw stuff like that on an employees vehicle, i would insist they be fired or i would withdraw my child from there immediately. anyone with the sense that god gave a mule can see why this was an issue. children & pedophile humor don't mix.

To the OP, I would really like to know, is the message on the back of your car really what you believe, or is it that you thought it was funny and therefore went with the humor in it? I get that you don't like these three men, but is it the Republican's you don't like or just those three? Do you see the other parties as any better or was there no bumper stickers about them that were this funny?

My point is, you've said that you felt you were fired for your political views but is it your political view that these three men are pedophiles? I get the joke but the reality is no one in a daycare center is going to look past the word "Pedophile" and in a court of law the oposing attorney is going to rip your political views to shreds when he ask's what you are basing your information on.

By the way, if you are serious about taking this to court, you need to think think think. Going to court is expensive and cost's all of us in the long run, so going forth with the attitude that no one else's opinion is as important as yours is going to get you cut off before even walking through the door. Comment's like "Redhaired fat ass" are prejudicial and show a lack of senserity on your part. Obese ppl with red hair have opinions too.

Also, if "Morgan & Morgan take your case, they won't charge you $$- they'll just take a cut. It won't cost you a dime. They will send an investigater to your home for a quick interview and take it from there.
