Heck, ever since I started using Opera, I haven't been able to access chat anyway. Even with some off the book tips from a MOD, I couldn't get access.
But that's not why I come to ATS anyway.
Cue ArMap's response that he uses Opera and it doesn't affect him.

Then whats the problem? Why is it so difficult for the staff to understand the simple concept of banning the few to keep the majority?
If the T&C's for this site were the same all around, then treat it as such, you dont ban ENTIRE THREADS because of a few bad apples, so you shouldnt do the same in chat.
Its all the same in your eyes, so lets keep it the same.

You guys want to be parents, then act like mature parents and punish thekids doing wrong, not the ones doing right.

We shouldn't have to constantly have a moderator presence in chat, our members should be respecting the house rules. Simple.


The very same can be said for the discussion boards on this site...and yes, it's quite simple.


Your idea of upping the minimum post limit each time there is an issue is a No-Go - just get rid of the thing, as many members with a lot of posts show their ass on regular basis as well...


In addition, you will only contribute to post spamming with that rule as members with too few posts go crazy, flooding the site with half ass comments just to get into chat...





Dump it...if people want to hang in a chat room they can go somewhere else - or is that the real issue here..?

Will you start to up the minimum posts for each T and C violation on the boards? I don't think so.

Upping minimum posts is dumb. Plain and simple. Take care of the real problems. It's laid out very clearly: T and C applies to chat as well as much as it does the boards. Enforce it. You don't want to put a mod there all the time...fine. You have a way to access logs...each day,few days, whenever you see fit, read through them. Punish those that do not follow the rules.

I don't get your solution. It's avoiding the real problem.

I hate to bring this up, but this never used to be that much of a problem in Mutter ...
Perhaps it was because more members and moderators could see it as they browse ATS, perhaps because it didn't have the feel of a separate entity like a separate chat window, I honestly don't know why that was.

I realize the load it put on the servers as you explained it, but maybe there's another way, another program, that achieves the same thing?

I'm not sure what precipitates these runaway offensive chats because I'm never in there, but somehow all that used to be kept in check in Mutter.

Like it would matter to me, I used to be a VERY ACTIVE member on this site(as you know, we have engaged each other in convo a few times), but asof lately, ATS has been acting very childish in the way they govern this site.

No more jokes allowed. No more making fun of the T&C's, no more use of verbs and adjectives.
No more having fun.

I didnt even see what Mod it was that banned me, well I did, but I dont remember the name. Id like to U2U him/her to see what the problem was, since he/she wont message me and tell me straight up.
